They installed a new garage door opener last year. It stopped working and I called them to come and check it out. They came and found out the sensor was not situated properly. They charged me $145 for a couple of minutes of their time. I could not believe it. I called and they snel time and gas prices. Still, I thought they could lower the price at least 50%! Update on 8/7/2022 My garage door opener will not close unless I held it down the whole time. Apparently after they situated the sensor they did not situate it properly. The orange light kept on coming on. I googled it and it is because the sensors are not aligned properly. I am getting another company to come out tomorrow! read more

So - great experience with the office staff. I (actually) like that they cash the check(s) quickly and don't make you wait for that... like other places. I love my new garage door, and opener motor both are great. The installer guys swore a lot and said very inappropriate things outside my house which I just didn't need, I'm glad we don't have any kids because they were saying very disgusting things and I don't think they even realized I heard them. They did a good job installing and this gripe is a bit more with the company. I paid about $1700 for my garage door- think you could throw in some light bulbs for the motor unit? Not "oh there's lights in there if you want to pop some in." I don't blame the installers for this I assume this is a company policy... throw in some light bulbs and don't get cheap on your customers. read more

Called based on recommendation of a FB group, 2 young men came, and in 20-25 seconds diagnosed the garage as needing a new motor. Price for motor $475, then needed cables, springs, etc (expected everything except the motor). When I told the young man that a new unit (with motor) was $206...he called the office and came back with another price. After telling me the cables and other items were "expensive" I passed on the $600+ price. Called another local company and they charged me $300 to fix the motor, and replace everything else. read more

Had similar situation like Margaret H, trying to schedule with office staff and driver for a service, after installation. The door seems to bounce and then retract and open not closing properly. I am a repeat customer of Ed's. They recently helped me out by doing an emergency repair to an old hurricane roll screen covering the back sliding doors to our deck. It broke during the deep freeze. They fit me in, did a quick, clean and complete job and charged me a very reasonable price, especially given the last minute emergency. I find Ed, his office staff and workers to all be friendly and reliable. And they call you back when they say they will. Great service! My garage door remote control was stolen so I needed to find a Lift Master authorized dealer. I called Lift Master and they recommended Ed Mojica. I'm glad they did. When I called they were very friendly on the phone. I went by their showroom and had the remote in stock. Not only did they sell me the remote they had several different models of the Lift Master in their showroom. They showed me step by step on how to reprogram my machine. I was up and running with in the hour. This is great place with very friendly people. I will go here again! My Wife and I signed a contract on 9/27/2017 to have a Clopay door installed by Ed Mojica Installations. The door was in at the beginning of November 2017 and installed at our home. We ordered the door with the windows on the left and Ed Mojica ordered the door wrong with windows on the right. I wrote down on their own receiving documents that the does does not meet their contractual obligations as well as the fact that they damaged a brand new concrete floor. I have documentary proof that I have copies of that show what I ordered and what was incorrectly installed. After the salesman John asked us to live with it, which we refused, he said they could reverse the door and it would be exactly the same product as I ordered, it was not. They reordered a brand new door which took 9 months. It is now one year later and they are demanding that I pay 8 dollars a day for storage fees, they have refused to give me back my stopped personal check and a lien release. Linda Mojica is obnoxious and rude, she refuses to understand the facts and ignores anything that does not meet her objective of being paid. I filed a complaint with NC Consumer Affairs and will let them do their job. DON'T USE THIS COMPANY, they are thief's!!!! read more

I have used this company for the last sixteen years. I ordered heavy duty springs for my garage door and requested a nine am installation the following Saturday. At ten am I called to ask where the serviceman was. The office manager was rude and informed me my appointment was 12-2. Unfortunately that was the previous weeks appointment for the measurement of the springs. I will never use his company again due to the office managers obnoxious attitude! read more

We just had our second door installed. It is a storm door that leads out to an in-ground pool. Ed and John worked with us to find the safest option to protect our 2 year old granddaughter from wandering out near the pool. They installed the handle at a special height so that a small child could not reach it, and put a lock that can open from either side as an additional step for the child to accomplish before being able to open the door. Wanting to do business locally we contacted Ed Mojica Installations. They scheduled the repair between 3:30 and 5:30. I specifically requested the 3:30-ish time frame because I don't want the repair to take place in the dark! At 3 p.m. we contacted the office to see how the appointment was running and were told the tech ran into some issues. We of course understand this, however, it is quickly getting dark and there is no response where the tech was. Fourty-Five minutes later we get another text that they are "checking" to see where the tech is. Now it is really getting dark, and we had cancelled our landscaper cleanup for this day so as not to interfere with the garage repair. Now finally at 4:30 they tell us the tech can come, but it will be closer to 6 p.m. Now it is totally dark. Our day, ruined, our landscaper cancelled, and our garage door not repaired. Then, we're suddenly told another tech can come right now, at 4:30. I tell them okay, it's not ideal because there is waning light but I'll take the appointment. A few minutes later, I get another text asking for our cross street. Now, you would think this would have been figured out before, as we live about 3 minutes away from Ed Mojica installations. The end result I ask them to come in the morning. They tell me to find another company. Moral...check all the reviews. read more

I called Ed Mojica for a repair estimate. The gentleman I spoke with told me a price would be quoted by the servicemen. So we made an appointment. The servicemen came and inspected the garage door. We were quoted $125 labor plus the cost of the rubber stripping. I asked how long would it take and was told 1/2 hour. They finished in a little over 11 minutes. I then asked what it cost if would they replace the other door's rubber stripping? The serviceman called the office. I was told by the serviceman it would cost an additional $95. I told him I didn't mind spending a few more dollars but not $95. We left our house about 15 - 20 minutes later and saw the truck parked across the street with the engine idling and the servicemen sitting inside. I was annoyed to see them running the clock by waiting in the truck until their next appointment. So a call was placed to the company and I asked for a manager. I spoke with her about the situation. The manager asked if the men greased the rails, inspected the mechanism etc., which is part of the service call. I was never told this and said they didn't. We hired EMI to fix our garage door which was malfunctioning. Their staff fixed the problem causing the malfunctioning; installed a horizontal spring to replace two old-fashion vertical springs; installed a key pad; and in general gave the garage door a tune up. Their work was excellent, and our garage door now operates as it should--problem free. The service was prompt, courteous, and attentive. We highly recommend them. read more
