I called about a garage door repair. They would not come to see the damage. Instead, they had me sending them photos of the door and answering lots of questions. Even though I'm only about a mile away. Finally, he said he will call me back after he talks to the sales dept. Several days later, still waiting. I had called another company, Sumo Garage Doors. The man came right on time and was very friendly and professional. He showed where I needed to repair the cement rather than the door. So professional and honest. I will call them next time for sure. I inquired for a new garage door installation at the store. I was told by the receptionist/secretary that they would leave a message for the owner to get back to me. I stopped in the Sayville store on a Friday morning and was told that he would be back in the store in the afternoon. I called the store on the same day at around 4:30 and was told that he was left a message. I asked if they are open on Saturday. She replied that the owner was in from 9-1. Saturday came and I still did not receive a call. One would think that any new business would be extremely needed. Especially during these economic times where businesses are suffering from this pandemic. As you can see, I would not recommend this business. read more

Definitely disappointed in their service and even the office in how they handle problems. We have two side by side garage doors that were installed over 12 years ago. When our teenage son backed out of one garage door without opening the door we were anxious to replace just the one door. We found TM Kenny was able to get our "Raynor Rocke Creeke Door". They actually told us that our door wasn't available from anyone else. We didn't complain we just needed our door replaced and in December of 2020 we paid for a 9x8 Raybnor Rocke Creeke door with springs and rollers to be replaced at a cost of $1960.00. The door looked great, but the door sounded harsh when opening and closing. We were assured it was the new hardware and the motor needed to adjust to the properly balanced door. We were just happy to have our new door. Fast forward a year and a few months we had a motor failure. We were a bit dismayed so we called a few people to get a new motor put in. Everyone was near the same price, but all of the vendors told us it was the springs that damaged the last motor. They said while the old springs could be used the last installer should have replaced the springs as they come with the door, and at minimum they should have balanced the door properly. The door was unbalanced and needed to be re-calibrated properly or the new garage door opener will be worn down quickly if it was not corrected. When we called TM Kennys we explained that the old springs were not changed. We sent them pictures of the first garage door and the one that they replaced and the springs were identical except the door that they replaced the springs were slightly more worn (one door gets used much more often then another). The girl on the phone understood and said she would speak with the owner, that the repairman who came the first time has had some issues and she would make sure she would do "whats right". We ordered the opener for TM Kennys and had the work done on 8/9/2021. They took nothing off the bill, they did not change out the springs and for a year and a half we heard all kinds of noises from our door as it opened and closed. When the spring finally snapped a few weeks ago we went with someone else. We got a few bids and again all were similar in price. This time however 2 of the new contractors were not so kind when we told them of our recent experiences with TM Kennys. We will not use them. We will not recommend them. Like Jackie S. I like would rather pay a local businessperson a bit more for someone who stands behind their product and is part of a community, so we chose a young man who played lacrosse for Shoreham Wading River HS when my boys played. He was pleasant and quick, and our door is as quiet as the sister door next to it. No excuses necessary this time. Terrible management, tried to make me pay for something they didn't do. Couldn't get their own stories straight when it came to scheduling an estimate. The supervisor is a rude, disrespectful person who said, "look lady, you don't know everything". Listen, jerk, I own the company and I know everything that is happening. I have used them a number of times before, so calling them for a replacement opener was a no brainer. Eugene the installer was very informative. He did an excellent job and in a timely fashion. There is no reason to call other installers as they will either not return your calls or just never show up. Stick with this company. There is a reason they have been in business for so long. read more

tm Kinney garage door installation used to be a good co. to deal with when TM Kinney owned the co. since it has been sold the are unreliable , don't return calls , don't show up when they say. ordered new garage doors in feb. took 4 months to get doors in. then no one called to say they were in. i had to follow up. no one really in Sayville office and kept getting someone in an office in ct. or mass. who couldn't help me. it is now sept. and doors are just being installed, I think? they were supposed to be here at 9am. now they tell me about 12noon. I like to support local businesses but this will be the last time I deal with this one. poor all around. go somewhere else if your looking for garage doors. shouldn't take 9months to get new doors installed. read more
