After a few my questions Dr. Beck became angry and tore up my medical records in front of me, my 4 years old daughter, who became frightened, and two reception staff members. Worst experience with an optometrist ever. I made an appointment for and contact fitting and I wemt through the full eye exam. It was at the end of the exam when the optometrist said "all done" that I stated I was there for a contact fitting and contact prescription. They then processed another payment which i wasn't prepared for as it wasn't quoted when I made the appointment. I was a little irritated by that because I was caught off guard but paid it. The optometrist proceeded to lecture me about my previous contact use in a condescending tone as if I were a child. She also kept referencing my job position as if to mock what I do for a living which was very unprofessional. When I told her which brand of contacts I use she proceeded to fit me with a brand I have never used. I chose this optometrist due to not being able to find another open outside of my working hours. When I was checking out I was told I'd have to return in one week to complete the "fitting" and the contact prescription would then be "released" to me. I really did not want to return but I returned to receive the prescription I had paid for and avoid having to start all over again with a new optometrist and more payments. I will never return to this eye doctor and do not recommend. I only gave one star because I had to. read more

The three stars is only because of Dr. Beck who's amazing . When I first came in they double checked my insurance and had me sign something saying I would owe 35.00 ok great. The two younger woman working there were extremely nice and friendly and helped me so I pay and go to eye mart once my exam is done and one of the younger woman runs in saying I owe money and that the gray haired woman needs to speak to me . So I go in and immediately the older woman with the gray hair is combative and rude . She wasn't listening to what I said and was insisting I pay 150.00. So I call my insurance benefit hot line who nicely explains to her that my insurance does cover a basic eye exam as long as it doesn't go beyond a refraction eye exam. So basically dilation etc they won't cover or retina scan(which I already paid for) so then she gets very upset at the Kaiser employee and says she wants her name and ID Incase the bill doesn't get paid. The employee on the phone senses this woman being hostile and offers a second number at this point I've been standing there for along time with my two children and husband waiting for me . So she then makes me wait while she calls the second number and the Kaiser rep tells her she should be sending the bill to our insurance but instead she keeps getting upset and several times snaps her fingers at me and shakes her head at my like I'm a child. At this point I ask to see the eye doctor which further upsets her. So I go to speak to the eye doctor while she slams the door shut the eye doctor was extremely nice and said they would bill my insurance so as I'm trying to leave the receptionist with the gray hair is blocking the door to exit and telling her friend about me and my personal info why I'm sure is a hippa violation and her friend says do you want me to take care of her ? And she says no it's fine. So I go to get my glasses at eye mart and the receptionists friend doesn't realize I am the one she had an issue with and proceeds to speak about me to her husband. He asks why was she so upset and she says oh some lady was wrong and her insurance and was still giving her a hard time. I love this eye doctor but after this experience I will probably be finding another place where I don't need to spend an hour debating what my insurance is and what it covers. I really hope she never speaks to anyone again. Also I had told her I didn't want to make another eye appointment because I didn't know my schedule yet and she said they always do that and Booked the appointment despite me asking her not too. read more

I recommend this place to anyone, here is the kicker i dont need glasses, i was here for a infection in my eye, this group of amazing staff where kind, thoughtful, knowledgeable , went over and above what they ever needed to for someone they knew nothing about. Literally the worst eye doctor in town. Horrible service, long waits, and the icing on the cake - additional charges you don't find out about until it's too late. You'd have better luck going to a witch doctor and making your own contact lenses from broken bottles you find in the street. read more

We were only trying to get an eye prescription, but she was more interested in up-selling us to a contact lens prescription than discussing the RX changes. I do not recommend this eye Dr at all. Her apprentice provided better service then this Ms. Beck. After she knocked on the door and opened it she began to ask me personal questions about health and if my family has a certain eye disease all while the door was wide open. I had asked her if she could give me the name of the disease so I can write down and stated that she wants to do studies before putting a label on it. She shorty closed the door afterwards. I honestly don't know what those negative review people are talking about. I've been going there for a couple of years now and have found both the staff and doctor to be very nice and professional. I cannot believe how bad this place is. The staff is uninformed and rude. I usually go elsewhere but I needed to get in right away after a mishap with my glasses. The optometrist said my prescription had changed a lot, but I found out later that she had not given me the correct prescription. Three months of blurry vision was the result. My regular optometrist was shocked at how far from my correct prescription hers was. I can see again now that I have the correct prescription again! When I was at Precision, the office staff said that their credit card machine was not working, and demanded that I pay with my ATM. I found out later that they do this all the time, probably in order to avoid the credit card fees. The place was dirty. And what kind of professional optometrist sells makeup on the side out of her office?! I would never go back. read more

This place is a mad house, not only are people arguing in the lobby the entire time, you can hear the receptionist ladies yelling and being so rude to one another, it's painful to hear. Not to mention the first time I was here, my mom overheard the receptionist criticizing me for a prescribed medicine I take. And the optometrist was either having a bad day and taking it out by being passive aggressive to patients (I.e. me) or is just not the kindest lady. She mocked me for transferring my prescription to Walmart so that it would be easier to access and told me that I needed to grow up. There was only one person who was kind to me this whole time and that was one of the optometrist assistants. Very dissatisfied. read more

I worked for this place and do not recommend going there. The dr is rude and cares only about money and selling contacts. The office manager talks more about who she is dating and flirts with patients. She treats patients like crap unless she knows them then she sits and talks to them. She blames everyone else for mistakes she makes. She doesn't train the front staff well at all. It was a hostile work environment and I recommend people go elsewhere. First , I have seen Dr Beck and had two exams over a two and half year period. Both visits were precise, professional and to the point. Her office is streamlined and well practiced. She is very observant and is vocal about proper eye care. It was obvious to me that Dr Beck knows her stuff and for me this is important with the turnstyle medical care you get these days. It is refreshing to hear a Doctor be vocal and to the point. I have an eye condition that I ignored first after my visit, At my second visit she has convinced me is not wise to ignore your eye health. I took her constructive criticism as a professional concern for my health. I need a boot in the pants when I neglect my health, thanks Doc! So more exams to follow. As far as waiting 45 minutes, if you just walk in expect that. Walk in business is a plus for someone who needs help without an appointment. For those who have appointments I didn't see anyone wait 45 minutes when I was there. Second, Dr Becks office is conveniently adjoined with EyeSmart. A bonus, get your script then your glasses at one location. I recently walked into Dr Becks office at noon, had an exam and had new glasses ready for pick up by 4pm! This is for the Yakima location! Really???? Because you did nothing but waste my time. I drove there, called to check in, was asked what insurance I had, it was AETNA, and was told that the system had been down but to go ahead and go to Eyemart Express to pick out my frames ..as I did. Then I went back to my car. Then received a call to proceed to the door to be checked in, so I did. Then all went down hill fast from there. I was asked if I had cash, I said no. Mind you not the receptionist was on the phone the entire time with someone, which is understandable as the facility was having IT issues. THEN...................I was told oh we just got a letter today and we no longer take your insurance and then I was given a cell phone with someone who was trying to tell me that well you can still be seen but it will be out of network. First of all the person on speaker phone had no customer empathy AT ALL, and believe me when I say this I will be contacting someone higher up because this was totally unprofessional. I am sure you did not get your mail at 1pm!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! A call would have been nice!!! People need to know how unprofessional this experience was. I will make sure to spread the word NEVER to use Precision as a place to get your eye exam. I think that the Dr. should have came out and apologized or the office manager. I waited a week for this appointment and I was trying to get everything done before my upcoming surgery scheduled for 2/10/2021. This was completely and utterly bad customer service! read more

I was criticized by this doctor for not bringing my child in for an eye exam sooner and treated like an absolute idiot for not knowing much about vision (I do not have glasses myself). My daughter is now afraid of her and refuses to go back. I refuse too! I would not recommend Janis Beck to use as an eye doctor for a child or someone who does not know about vision as she will treat you like you are a total moron. Also, be prepared to wait in the waiting room for at least 30-45 minutes with an appointment. No thanks! read more
