I recently hired **Quality Movers and Packers Tampa**, and my experience was far from professional…read more The movers arrived late (clocking in at 9:44 AM, but not actually on-site until after 10:00 AM) and immediately set a negative tone. One of the movers, Bill, was incredibly cynical, constantly pointing out how much stuff there was to move and even suggesting we'd need two trips before even seeing everything. His negativity continued throughout the day, making me feel self-conscious despite me actively helping move things and trying to speed up the process.
At the first location, I thought maybe they were being ineffective because they were hungry, so I offered to buy them lunch. I went to Chipotle and asked what they wanted, and they assured me they'd pay me back. However, I had to remind them multiple times, and it wasn't until the very end--after I'd already paid more than twice the quoted fee--that I brought up the reimbursement again. The first mover reluctantly agreed to pay me but stalled when I suggested Venmo or Zelle, claiming those apps weren't working. By the end, I was so eager to be done with the day that I let them consider the food a "tip." They seemed pleased with this, thinking they not only took advantage of me by charging double the actual work time, but also scored a free meal.
At the final location, Bill continued to make uncomfortable comments, like suggesting I needed a roommate after pointing out my spare bathroom. I politely replied that I lived alone, which only seemed to make things more awkward.
Productivity was further hindered by Bill's insistence on using a strap for loading and unloading, slowing everything down. He even told the first mover not to move a box because it was part of his "loading setup," which led to an unnecessarily drawn-out process. Bill took ten minutes to move two boxes that should've been done in under 3 minutes. He also demanded that I or the first mover record him carrying boxes up the stairs so he could post a video on Facebook. He screamed, "ALL THE WAY UP THE STAIRS, FOLLOW ME ALL THE WAY UP THE STAIRS!" during the whole video, which was disruptive and uncomfortable.
What should have been a straightforward move turned into a 7-hour ordeal. The movers' inefficiency, constant negativity, and poor attitude were the main reasons for the delay, and my furniture ended up damaged due to improper handling. On top of that, I was charged for unnecessary time spent doing nothing.
I would strongly advise against hiring Quality Movers and Packers Tampa. Their unprofessionalism, lack of efficiency, and blatant disregard for basic customer service made this, without a doubt, the worst moving experiences I have ever had.
