My boys were not comfortable with a hernia check but needed a physical for activities. As I was trying to work it out, Jen Bodin became so unprofessional as I tried to balance between what she needed to fill out the form and my boys comfort level. Instead of being empathetic to my position, she walked out of the office telling me we were wasting her time and the appointment was over. Mind you, this was also for their annual well check...she walked out!!!! This pediatric group has completely lost their direction with children and their parents. It's their way or the highway. Look elsewhere and save yourself the trouble.

Even if my $30!!!!!!! balance was paid- they would not accept my child back. 11 years of going to this practice and to be discharged for a $30 balance that I was unaware of- is insane to me! $30 is PEANUTS to me- and would've been paid had I known about it. Very disappointing that a practice would throw away an established patient-doctor relationship over $30!!!!!!!

I moved back to Fredericksburg in 2024 from south of Richmond & opted to take my 1 year old here…read moredespite reviews. Yes I've experienced long wait times from time to time, but there are more people than doctors for this area in general ( ratios especially during back to school or highly contagious periods ) . It took myself 3+'months to get in with a new PCP & vision specialist. The office has dealt with periodic staff shortages, but not to the extent where I'm concerned because it's someone new (front and back of the house) every single time. I saw a review regarding misdiagnosis, this happens sometimes because doctors typically narrow down from symptoms that are the same for multiple diagnosis. My daughter's previous doctors could never specifically tell me if she had a virus or a bacterial infection. I believe due to her age because under about 11/2 they don't prescribe medicine. Her previous doctors would not even perform blood, Covid, flu, or strep test at every visits unless I requested. They would just say fluids, Tylenol, Motrin so I stopped taking her unless I needed the school note. The children's clinic takes swabs every time and now that she over 2 even blood to rule out or confirm infections. The children's clinic doctors (I've seen 3 different physicians) have diagnosed my daughters correct every time as far as I know. Dr.Johnson informed me that my child's pop belly was due to muscles not being formed ( I was extremely concerned) and over the next year her constant belly did subside. Dr.Johnson is seemingly a little quirky and does tend to have a standard rhythmic way to describe children's milestones, but i like that. Imagine how many patients parents he has to repeat the same thing to a million times so forgive him for repeating some things. At least he is relatable, humorous, and appealing. For example, when my daughter was forming words he asked "what are your favorite 5 bad words? I bet they are hers too!" I love that I am able to pick my daughter up from daycare if she is sick and immediately walk in to get seen. The longest time I've waited was about 2 hours one night to get results during a walk in appointment. Wait times to be taken back range greatly from immediately to an hour or so. Make sure if you walk in at night your pharmacy is still open (Dr. Johnson will remind you every time that they are closing), but one night I couldn't make it and had to wait the following day. We have used doorstep once and I love the service, but sometimes it's just easier to drive in! Surprise, surprise my daughter woke up sick at 3am today after her class had a flu exposure sign posted yesterday. I plan to call them at opening for an appointment. 4/5 rating is because I believe nothing is perfect and there are always ways to improve. In all, I'm a huge advocate for obtaining a second opinion. Sometimes doctors, practices, and patients are simply incompatible. However, I sure am glad I decided to try the office for myself.

I have never seen a medical professional act so poorly that my then 8 year old daughter finally interjected "she needs him to keep her alive!"

When we called the business line the person did not announce their business and just said "hello" as if they were using the phone for personal and business reasons, then they hung up. I called back immediately and left a message announcing who I am and that I am a relative of one of their clients that would like a return call. They immediately called back and announced themselves as the business and began to tell me there was nothing, they could do to give information about the healthcare worker and that I should have asked for ID on day one. Later after our mother got sick, she requested that the healthcare worker wear a mask and gloves and the agency and healthcare worker told us that the client has to provide it and the worker said she did not have the money for these supplies. Our mother had been a home health care aide for 10 years and she thought these questions were normal, but with this company they continued to be abrasive in their customer relations and evasive about any questions they were asked. It is my opinion that they think customers do not have the ability to give a review on the internet of their company and they think they can get away with this kind of treatment. I am writing this review on behalf of the experience our family had with this company.

Dreadful customer service When we moved to the area back in…read more2013, this is the only place that could get my kids in on short notice. I have 4 children that have been going to Dr.Cao since 2013. I will start of by saying that nurse Reina was very sweet, but it stops there. I have never had a warm fuzzy feeling with Dr. Cao, or reception at this practice. I originally wanted my children seen by Dr. Khan; however, she was full and not able to accept new patients. When I called one day to book an appointment for my daughter, as a follow up to an urgent care visit I was told that ALL my children had been REMOVED from the practice!! I was extremely upset and demanded answers. The only thing the receptionist could say is that it was the Dr.'s choice and since my son did not make it to his last asthma check she decided to remove them all! Mind you 2 of my children have been to other appointments within the year, AND I called personally at the beginning of the 2022 school year to make sure my son was up to date on his vaccines and that he was not due for a physical, since he wanted to be on the basketball team in school. THERE WAS NO MENTION OF THE MISSED APPOINTMENT OR INTENTION TO REMOVE ALL CHILDREN FROM THE PRACTICE. Life happens and as an essential employee, I work sometimes 7 days a week and am not always able to bring them to the checkups every 3 months that she feels is deemed necessary, especially if the children are not having any health issues. I feel that out of respect and good customer service, we should have at the very least received a courtesy call. If I had not had to call them to attempt to schedule my daughter's checkup, I would not have ANY communication from the staff at this practice. I have never seen or heard of any practice operating this way, or experienced such horrible customer service from a Dr. I never got a call, the receptionist said I would get a packet in the mail with their records, which I still have not gotten 2 weeks later! The receptionist had an attitude because I was upset (WHO WOULDN'T BE). When I asked her about the policies and why I wasn't called etc. she just kept repeating that it's not her decision and that it was the Dr.'s choice. (NOT EVEN ONE APOLOGY. JUST RUDENESS). I demanded that the Dr. call me since she had no answers so that we may discuss the concern (still waiting on that phone call 2 weeks later) Now I must scramble to find a PCP that can take them short notice because my daughters health issue in serious and she needs to be seen right away. Now let's see what issues they will give me to fax the records to a new pediatrician. I feel this was discrimination. Other than race, my children are on Medicaid, and I feel this is also part of the reason for the discrimination. Wish I could give 0 stars :(

When she left we were given to the new dr who took her place (Delgado) and then she left, so we automatically went to Dr. Cao. That lady is horrible. Her attitudes, and facial expressions are crazy! She's so rude. The way she speaks to you is ridiculous. Maybe the last 4/5 appointments we had been to, she spoke to me with an attitude and was very rude. One of the times even YELLING in my face, simply because she didn't understand what I was asking for regarding my child's surgery (because I know you'll read this and try to LIE in a response like I've seen you on these other posts) my child can confirm this and also confirmed it yesterday at the appointment, that she always has an attitude. At the appointment with my daughter the receptionist also slammed the door that day. The black MA/nurse that works there can confirm this! She was right there. .Yesterday was it, let's start with her telling me she doesn't see a diagnosis for my child with ADHD when I knew that was a lie because the last dr prescribed him meds AT THAT OFFICE. So she should have the same information as her. Looking back on it now, and after speaking with the office where he got the diagnosis, she kept saying she has "9 pages only" and one of those was the report with the diagnosis but she clearly didn't want to take time to read it. She spoke to me as if I was stupid when she said my son has an infection in his nose. I asked what kind of infection because I initially thought it was something dealing with his allergies and instead of just saying sinusitis she has a smart remark, looks at me as if I'm dumb and says that's why I said he needs antibiotics and then proceeds to say "I only treat what I see". Not once did I question WHAT SHE SAW. 1. I was in process trying to call the place where my son got his diagnosis, and 2. I'm the mother and if I have questions or don't understand her job is to explain THOROUGHLY without the unnecessary facial expressions and nasty attitude. I finally went off and let her know she will NOT continue to speak to me the way she does with her attitude every time I come in for an appointment. It's ridiculous. she literally walked around the table and put her hand in my face and said you can leave, go. (After I said I would be removing my kids) and I told her yeah when she completes the appointments for my two kids I had There at the time. I've never liked her. It was just easier to keep my kids there instead of finding a new pediatrician. But I tell you what, I Will not be disrespected every time I have to walk in there with my kids ! The doctor is bipolar. She came in nice happy talking having a conversation and just instantly switched when it came to speaking about my child with adhd. AND ILL SAY THIS, you can come up here and respond with whatever bs like I've seen you do on these other parents posts, but NOTHING I said was a lie. AND IF YOU PUT OUT ANY OF MY KIDS PERSONAL BUSINESS THAT IS A HIPAA VIOLATION AND I WILL GET A LAWYER. Because I've seen you putting out the other parents child medical information. And don't try to come up here saying I'm a bad parent haven't brought my kids blah blah. BS like you posted on everyone else post. It's no way MULTIPLE people are speaking this way about you and none of It's true. You know you're guilty when you write a storybook in response to these parents who put a negative review. But the attitude seems consistent so it looks like YOU are the problem. I wouldn't EVER recommend this DR. That place was great before Dr.Khan left! The receptionist also has an attitude constantly. I looked past that because our interactions are short but do not bring your kids here.
