Vineyard View Winery was one of the smaller wineries we visited on our recent impromptu wine-tasting trip. Like others have mentioned, the views are great from this little hilltop winery. We would have spent more time taking pictures, but the rainy weather kept us on the move. The service was friendly, but I found the place to be somewhat understaffed. The young lady who helped with our tasting also assisted customers at the register, which was understandable but distracting. The wine itself also wasn't my favorite, although we did buy a bottle of their very "grape-y" tasting white wine. We enjoyed the wines from other neighboring wineries more. Vineyard View Winery is still a good stop, if not for the wine, then for the view itself. read more

Vineyard View Winery has some incredible views, but fell a little short for me in the terms of their wines. I had several tastings and wasn't blown away by anything. I was still having wine in a beautiful setting so it wasn't a problem, I just didn't buy anything to bring home. They didn't have much in terms of a gift shop either. It was a nice touch that they had a water cooler in the corner. I would still recommend a visit, however perhaps a brief one. read more

I was automatically drawn in by the lake view and it was a lovely place to drink and unwind. I came here late Sunday afternoon and there were plenty of outdoor seating for us to admire the lake view. While we were here we decided to try their Dry & Sweet wine flight which came with 5 options for $7 (1oz) or $14 (2oz). It came in a super unique display and we were really satisfied with the tasting. The staff was also really helpful and provided us suggestions for local dinner spots. Beautiful location, beautiful view, and great set up. They have picnic tables in the grass and a large deck which is the much better option for seating. You really can't go wrong with where you sit here because you can a great view of the lake. Now to the wines, because of covid they weren't doing tastings when we were here so we decided to get a flight, and some small bites (crackers and dips). The wines weren't really memorable but just the view alone makes this winery a worthy stop if you are on Keuka. read more

Vineyard View Winery will be joining the Keuka wine trail in 2015, so we thought we'd better check it out. Worth a stop and they're just getting started, so don't expect too much. There's wine and a great view. Tasting was $3, $5 if you want to keep the glass. Lots of variety. Located on the Bluff, above Keuka College, the newly built cabin-style tasting room has a gravel driveway and other rustic touches. Be sure to check out the house just above the winery with the awesome views of the lake. They even have a big sign on their back deck boasting about the superiority of their view. Such pride! The inside is nice & new with wide windows to see the lake. The bar is set up with planks on wine barrels to maximize the light flow. There's a deck outside that some folks were enjoying a bottle or two on. Apparently they found some wine they really liked. The staff is just getting used to handling the place, so give them a break. This winery hasn't been here for decades, so things aren't going to run as smoothly as the long-established places. Our party found a bottle worth buying, Like some wine, it will improve with age. read more

We did a tasting this weekend, 5 wines of your choice for $4. All of the wines were delicious. I prefer dry wines and I absolutely loved the Cabernet Franc. After the tasting we purchased some of their wine to drink out on the back deck. It is a beautiful view of the lake and on this particular Friday afternoon it was not too crowded at all. The girls working in the tasting room were friendly and knowledgeable. We'll definitely be back! read more

Vineyard View was our very first Fingerlakes winery, so it's got a special place in my heart. The tasting room is beautiful with high ceilings and large windows overlooking the lake. There's a deck you can enjoy as well. They have wine and local beers on tap. The wines here are very good and the service is just amazing. The woman that helped us was so kind, she even offered to take a picture of my girlfriend and I on the deck without us asking! She gave us tons of background knowledge on the grapes used in their wine as well as info on the products sold in their gift shop. I bought a pair of grape earrings that were locally made for $8!!! What a steal!! Love love love this place. read more

Vineyard View was our last stop for the day on our 8 winery tour. The winery was very nice. Great views of Keuka from the deck area. The inside was fine, not badly decorated, but not one of the prettier interiors we've seen. My wife, father, and I are dry drinkers, and purchased a bottle of Marquette; and my mother is a sweet drinker, and purchased a bottle of Folt's Family White. The Marquette was a really good wine, I thoroughly enjoyed it. The server was friendly, but she was not extremely knowledgeable about the wines. When she was picking up the wines to serve, she was reading off what they tasted like from the paper. Definitely worth a visit and worth buying a bottle to sit on the deck with read more

Despite being the only people here during the Keuka Holidays at 11am, my friend and I felt obligated to taste the samples and leave as soon as possible. They had a cute Christmas sweater contest going on but that didn't make up for the fact that the person giving us our samples went on her phone between every tasting and never engaged with us whatsoever. And none of the seven others standing there talking to each other seemed interested in giving us a better impression. Seriously? Luckily my friend and I weren't too bothered by this but it left a nasty first impression. This was my first trip to Keuka Lakes and it won't be my last but I will not step foot in here again. read more

Beautiful first stop on our self-guided winery tour on Keuka Lake. As the name suggests, you're going to have some killer views from Vineyard View, especially out on their deck. But, while the family has been growing and selling grapes for 5 generations, Vineyard View officially opened in November 2013, a "new kid on the block", relatively speaking. They are the newest members of the Keuka Lake Wine Trail. The tasting room is clean, open, modern, with lots of space at the tasting bar to host everyone from couples to small groups. While we were there, 2 employees were on hand to provide the tastings: $4 for your choice of 5 wines. Alternatively, you can purchase the Keuka Lake Wine Trail passport for $12 which include free* standard wine tastings at 6 other wineries on the the official wine trail. (*some wineries have limitations on which wines are included in the tasting) The tasting was a bit more casual and relaxed than some of the more well-known wineries in the region. I could have personally done with a bit more attention to us, the patrons, as well as greater knowledge about the individual varietals. A very hands-off tasting, which may appeal to some. I opted to try the Gewürztraminer, dry rosé, 2015 Grüner Veltliner, 2014 Pinot Noir, and the 2015 Blaufränkisch. While the white wines (Gewürztraminer, dry rosé, Grüner Veltliner) had flavor profiles as expected, the Pinot Noir and Blaufränkisch profiles left much to be desired. From the Pinot Noir, flavors of pickling spice, leather, and vegetable ash overwhelmed my palate. Being a "red wine drinker", I surprised myself by instead purchasing a bottle of the the 2015 Grüner Veltliner, which was bright, high on the palate, crisp and tart, with a berry finish. Bottles here are in the easily affordable range: $10-25. A modest amount of snack food is available for purchase: refrigerated local artisan cheese, crackers, chocolate, etc. Be sure to buy a glass (or enjoy a bottle) on the back deck, where you will take in a spectacular vista of Keuka Lake and the vineyards below. read more

What a beautiful place for a winery! You definitely know how they picked their name because the view of Keuka Lake is spectacular! I came here with a bus full of people for my friend's birthday. We got here right when they opened and had prepaid which made it easy for us. We had a choice to try the Dry Flight of 4 wines or the Sweet Flight. I ended up going with the sweet since I tend to like those types of wine better. I liked the Semi Dry Riesling the best and Nikki's Red was good too. The Blush was too sweet for me and the Niagara grape wine was also very sweet tasting just like a grape off the vine which I don't mind eating. I loved that they had a beautiful deck outside to see the view better. We ended up getting a group picture here. I would come back for sure for more tastings. read more

This winery has a gorgeous view of the lake and vineyards with a beautiful, spacious deck. We did not do a wine tasting as $14 for 4 wines is, quite simply, a price gouge. Other wineries charge $8/$9 so $14 seems quite high. It seems wineries have been charging a lot more than they used to for tastings and I'm fairly sure that is due to the pandemic and trying to boost their sales. Also, predetermined wine flights were what was offered and we're not interested in those types of tastings. We go to wineries to peruse what they offer and want to sample those wines that WE find interesting, not those that the winery has determined they will let us try. Overall, not a fan of the flights - maybe for some, they are helpful, but why not offer flights AND also allow visitors to mix and match what they would like to try? We're not interested in purchasing multiple pre-selected flights for each person. The main reason isn't the money, but if you're touring other wineries, you need to pace yourselves with what you're drinking. That being said, the presentation of the samples looked lovely in the tower glass holders and it's a fantastic setting to enjoy wine. Service was friendly enough. read more

Went to Six Mile Creek for wine tasting this afternoon. Our sommelier was Daniel and he was amazing. His knowledge was impressive and he was engaging and an absolute delight. We bought 2 of the wines we sampled but kicked ourselves on the way home that we didn't buy more. We will definitely be back. We had a 5 star experience at a beautiful venue. read more

Wine was just okay, service was terrible. The pourer was rude and either not knowledgeable about the wines served or unwilling to share what she did know. The only saving grace is the view; but that's not unique in this region. With so many great options in the area, I'd recommend giving this one a pass. read more

Vineyard View was the last winery on our Keuka Lake passport adventure, and it was a terrific surprise. We were the only tasters on a late Wednesday afternoon, and our host was one of the winemakers. Despite the fact that this is a new winery and both winemakers are relatively new, we were quite impressed with their wines. They're one of the few who sell blaufrankish (lemberger) on its own rather than blended, and it was remarkably well balanced. Their rieslings, especially the 2012, exhibit a nice sense of terroir. The only "miss" in my opinion was the pinot noir, which seemed a bit oaky to my taste. This is definitely a winery to watch, and now is the time to take advantage of the value priced offerings. (They also offer a flat 10% discount on any wine purchase to passport holders, which is nice.) read more

Currently at the NYS wine festival and I enjoyed originally coming to the tent to taste their wine. I came back later to purchase a bottle and I was scolded by the server just because I did not say please. She then went on to emphasise "thank you" when she gave me said purchased bottle. I say now as I said to them then I will never return to purchase their wine regardless of its taste due to the rude and disrespectful service I received. read more
