I worked with Dahlia, the RD. I want to clarify that this review isn't for her services, it's for the business itself. I saw Dahlia to help with my SIBO. I'm a registered dietitian myself but I needed some support to get rid of my SIBO. I had a follow up appointment with Dahlia in June. My appointment was scheduled for the afternoon, and the week before (more than 24 hours before) I called to leave a message explaining I needed to reschedule. I called from my mother's phone, as we were driving to California from Phoenix. I was worried my message didn't go through since reception is so spotty during the drive. I called the morning of my appointment to make sure they had gotten my call (we were going home because my cousin passed away, and I told the woman on the phone that I had a family emergency and couldn't call again the day before because of family conditions). They said they hadn't gotten my message and that I would be charged $50 for a "no show." I explained that I DID call, but wasn't sure if my message was actually received. They said they needed the number of the phone I used, I provided it, then said there was no trace that I called. So I owed them the fee. I reached out to Dahlia to explain to her my situation, fully planning on rescheduling (I wanted to buy a package from her actually) and she asked me for my mother's number, too, to confirm that I actually did call and cancel. At that point, I was dealing with a younger cousin who had committed suicide, an uncle who died a week later, and a family business that was being shut down after 20 years because of COVID. I forgot to reply to Dahlia's email. And because the entire experience left a foul taste in my mouth, I sought the services of another practitioner and forgot about the Institute of Plant-based Medicine. Fast forward to November (recall this began in June), and I'm being threatened with having my "no show" fee go to collections and that it will "hurt my credit." I then got a very nicely-worded, slightly patronizing email from management explaining how important it is to honor the precious time of practitioners and that the cancellation policy is in place to respect patients and practitioners alike. As if I needed to be educated on why a cancellation policy (one that I honored) existed. I am a health are practitioner. I have my own practice as a registered dietitian. I have a cancellation policy as well. But I also have compassion and listen to people when they speak to me. So, despite the fact that Dahlia is a lovely person and a great RD, I don't recommend this business at all. You can find amazing nutrition advice from businesses that actually have hearts. I'm going to pay the fee because it's not worth it to stress about $50, but it would have been nice to have been treated better. read more

I have been a patient of Dr. Sadeghi's since 2019, and have also consulted with a dietician in her practice, and have many great things to say about IOPBM. What led me to Dr. Sadeghi's practice is the very essence of what makes IOPBM stand out: a GI practice that combines conventional therapies with a strong emphasis on diet. For those who suffer from IBD, diet is an important tool to manage the condition, with some patients able to keep their IBD in remission without drugs, using diet alone (my sister is an example, though she figured out what works for her the hard way, by trial-and-error, over more than a decade).
