We did our research and went to two different places to receive evaluations. Dr. Ferris was thorough, discussing the benefits of braces for our pre-teen (not only from an esthetic standpoint but for his oral and health benefits as well.) He recommended we wait for molars to come in before getting started. The process has been smooth and we're kept on the loop every step of the way. The office staff is courteous and efficient- we've never had to wait long, if at all, for our appointment and the office has in house payment plans. If you're looking for more out of your orthodontist, Ferris Orthodontics is the superior choice!

Our daughter had an adjustment and her wires were digging into her cheek. It was extremely difficult to get an appointment to have them clipped (a 5 second appointment). She went days with her mouth bleeding and pain. There are always at least five people working yet no one ever doing anything. I'm so disappointed we chose this orthodontist. We are now transferring to a new office and have already been treated 1000 times better from the first visit. Avoid taking your child here!

For starters, Dr. Newman and Dr. Engel are no longer there, and there was no communication about this when I had just begun my ortho treatment. That's something I would have appreciated transparency on, especially since it directly impacts my care. Secondly the new orthodontist has been disappointing. He doesn't introduce himself, barely interacts, and often just walks in and out without much explanation. It honestly makes me question the purpose of coming in when I could just manage my trays at home and track my own progress at this point. I've also seen that others have had similar concerns. From what I've found, he also has negative reviews elsewhere outside of this practice as well, so this experience feels inconsistent and concerning. I really wish there was more transparency and a higher standard of patient care. At the end of the day, I don't understand keeping a provider who doesn't seem to prioritize patient experience.

We called to set up the consult and our phone call was greeted by a very friendly voice of Chuck who helped get us scheduled. Everyone is so nice, **I should have gone into orthodontics, everyone is so happy here** We came in for the consult and were greeted with water and an awesome check-in experience. Vickie took us on a tour of the whole office which is state of the art, well organized, and beautiful. She helped us with a basic run-down of the experience as well as a little of her personal testimony about braces in general. Both were very helpful as we were clueless. We waited just a bit for Dr. K as she is working in Stone Oak as well for now. Both Vickie and Chuck were talkative and made us feel at home. Dr. K arrived and talked us through the options. She was so thorough and was making us feel understood. She allowed us to schedule the very next week and in order to save time, allowed us to do the pre-braces checklist for pictures and place spacers before we left to save us time. We are at the appointment now to place the braces. They have a variety of payment options to include: CareCredit, an in-house payment plan with down payment, and a percentage off of the total if paid in full. Not sure if this is a promotion but either way, great options. They do take Tricare and are considered in-network which is always a plus. Now for the amenities, I posted pictures which do it no justice but the facility has a brushing station, game room with free Pacman and a charging station for devices. Their medical equipment is top of line. NO GOOPY MOLDS!! They use 3D imaging and it's amazing to be able to see the potential end product. Their X-ray machine is new and very quick. I can't say enough about this place and its staff. We are so lucky to have found them while we are here. Highly Recommend!

It was secured by a cemented metal wire and a fence of small chain links. The exposed jagged edge of a metal support post actually made my finger bleed when I touched it! Ugh! Eating was nauseating painful and uncomfortable. My teeth crunched the chain. I tugged away at it to eliminate the problem myself. It made the situation worse - more jagged more tortuous. I called the office with a request to see someone as soon as possible. Shanna arranged that! Dr. Voorhees and Mai worked their magic! I've rarely seen such a happy professional team! After 2 tours with orthodontists, after dealing with dentists in a couple of different states including Texas, California and Nevada, exemplary best describes this interaction .

Beth, their Patient Ambassador, came into the restaurant where I work and was an amazing customer. During our conversation, she offered to help me with a missing front tooth. I lost the tooth during my career as an MMA fighter, and because it was so noticeable, it had always been a major source of embarrassment for me. I explained that I'm a father of three, work weekends at the restaurant while building my own business, and don't currently have insurance. Without hesitation, Beth told me they would find a way to work something out. I was scheduled for a fitting the following week, and only two short weeks later, I looked in the mirror and saw my smile without that huge gap for the first time in years. Then they told me it would be completely free, and I could hardly contain my emotions. I cannot thank Beth and the entire team at Kunik Orthodontics enough for what they did for me. My dentist was concerned with how it was placed and noted excessive glue on it, which was making it impossible to maintain and keep from plaque buildup. Ferris dismissed the concerns and told me that my dentist was wrong. I've gotten two separate dentists opinions on it, and they both told me the same thing. Ferris Orthodontist continues to tell me that "the two other dentists were wrong and they have done it perfectly" (exact quote). They did not end up offering a solution and I felt like my thoughts and concerns were irrelevant to them. I felt disrespected and disregarded. Definitely not pleased with the service I payed for!
