We are extremely disappointed with our experience. My 6-year-old son had a baby tooth treated at this office, where the dentist performed the root canal and placed the crown on the tooth. After the procedure, he continued to complain that the tooth hurt. When we returned for a follow-up visit, my son became upset and cried because he was scared and still in pain. Instead of working with us to determine why he was hurting, we were essentially told to seek care elsewhere. We later took him to another pediatric dentist, who diagnosed an abscess at the root of the very same tooth that had been treated and crowned at this office. It has been heartbreaking to learn that our young child has been dealing with an infection after already going through such an extensive procedure. He has endured unnecessary pain, discomfort, and additional dental visits because his symptoms persisted. We understand that treating young children can be challenging, but compassion, patience, and thorough follow-up care are essential. As parents, we trusted this office not only to perform the procedure but also to address any complications afterward. Instead, we felt our concerns were dismissed when our son was clearly still in pain. I hope this feedback encourages the practice to take children's post-treatment complaints more seriously and to provide families with the follow-up care and support they deserve. read more

Went back to Dr. Wright to have some teeth filled in because of my gums are receding. So Dr. Wright filled them in and it was a breeze. Everyone there at the dentist are so welcoming. This was also my husband's first time there to get a tooth filled and a cap fitted. He said it was a great experience. Dr. Wright and all of his staff are so friendly and sweet and nice. The front desk is also very nice and very accommodating. The office is just beautiful too, and they have a very nice waiting room with a TV and a little space for young kids to hang out and play. read more

She immediately made me feel welcome and at ease. My hygienist, **Sarah**, did a great job cleaning my teeth and recommending some products to help keep the plaque down. Thank you, young lady! I really appreciate the care and helpful advice. Overall, my periodontal appointment went very well, and the care and professionalism from the entire team were outstanding. I love this Dentist! I moved here from DFW area, where I lived my entire 60 years, almost two years ago. I have had a lot of medical issues, and of course had to get all new doctors. I will admit, that I have been made to feel less than, at most places. I'm just an old number to most. Going to a new dentist, was very intimidating to me. I've heard that new dentist will gouge you, while finding all kinds of issues with your old teeth. At Smithson Valley, this was not the case! much to my surprise, there wasn't a thing wrong with my old teeth. They took a lot of X-rays and cleaned them very thoroughl. I must say the most important thing to me, was that they were so kind! I did not feel like a new patient, or an outsider. Every single staff member was over the top kind and personable. I had a very bad experience the day before at an imaging center. I ended up crying there and continued the rest of the day. So for them to treat me so well the next day, was such a blessing . Simply amazing!! I cannot say enough wonderful things about this office!! Every single person there is just the kindest, sweetest, most patient person ever! They made myself and both my daughters feel so welcome, so comfortable and so at ease! They took their time, they were so gentle and they explained everything so well and made the experience so pleasant. Such quality service, quick to get you scheduled and taken care of, the office is beautiful and clean and warm and the tvs in the rooms along with on the ceiling are a GREAT distraction!! I don't doubt their skills of the dental services but they need to improve their customer service. The person who got my phone call had no interest in helping me find an available date that works for me. I had to be the one telling her which date she'd like to schedule it for me, and she was telling me they were all booked in a mocking way. I basically got an appointment that is two months later. Btw, she did give me a date that was closer but I told her I have an appointment on the same date and time. She was not willing to change the time and even got annoyed by that. I made an appointment for my son and I for 11/30/22 back on 9/19/22, two months in advance so I could take off from work.  They said they took our insurance but to send the card ahead to confirm.  I sent a copy of my insurance on 10/18/22, over a month before the appointment.  On the morning of our appointments, 10 minutes before we were supposed to leave, they called to say that they might not take our insurance but weren't sure.  They told us we could still come but gave a large, possible out of pocket cost.  Since we didn't want to pay out of pocket when we had insurance, they said they would get back to us to let us know.  We never heard from them.  I must have gotten dozens of text and emails reminders about our appointments, such a waste of time. read more

Love'em! Smithson Valley Family Dentistry is unbeatable; just saying. I could tell you stories about my childhood dental visits, one where I ran into a nearby church and went AWOL for a good while, but Yelp* isn't the place. So, anyway, I have battle "scars." ha. Dr. Wright is accommodating. About a month ago I had three crowns prepped on the same day because I get 'cancelitis', so I prefer getting as much work done as possible in one appointment. Such a comfortable experience! Amazing! Talk to them about all the options available to make your chair time as pleasurable as possible. They understand. Fast forward... Today I had my first cleaning in four years. This was absolutely the best experience I've ever had at the dentist! I usually dread going but Dr. Wright and his team are amazing. They talked to me about everything so I understood and were very gentle. They have lots of things to make your experience as comfortable as possible from tv on the ceiling so you can watch tv while they work as well as offering headphones to take away from the noise from the cleaning. During the inspection he had a camera to show me exactly what was going on in my mouth and showed me on a large screen tv. They were incredibly accommodating as I had to bring my one year old to the appointment. I had him in a high chair and Dr offered to play a show on amazon prime for him. The waiting room is gorgeous with a fireplace and tv. There is also a kids area with tablets. The facility has brand new equipment and their X-ray machine gives of less radiation than the older ones. Yay for that! This place goes above and beyond to make what is usually scary for people to be as comfortable as possible. Do yourself a favor and schedule your cleaning. I can't believe I'm saying this but i actually can't wait for my next appointment. read more

My husband and I go to Smithson Valley Dentistry and we could not be happier! Dr. Wright and his staff are very friendly and I never have to wait long before being seen. I think the longest I've ever waited is 5 minutes. The office is also very nice and clean. Another dentist told me that I need a procedure done that would cost me $5,000 so I decided to get a second opinion which is how I started going to SVFD. SVFD was able to fix my problem and it cost me less than $100. I truly appreciate them not trying to get the most money out of me as possible and for fixing the problem. SVFD has been our dentist since we've moved back in 2019 & they've always taken care of us like family. We have young ones & they're so good w/ children. Their waiting area & work stations is always clean. They have TV's everywhere for you to entertain yourself while getting work done. They've also installed tablets in the waiting room for little ones to pass the time. After the kids are done w/ their cleaning, they provide quarters for them to receive a toy from one of many gumball/toy machines. Other than the on-base dentist clinic I used to go to in Japan (Years ago), SVFD is the best. read more

This is a gem to have close to home. Scheduling was a breeze on their site. Our appointment time was pretty prompt for our first visit and running early (which was great!) for my other child's appointment the next day. Their office is clean, updated and thoughtful with amenities. Our hygienist, Wendy, was so sweet, thorough and quick. She immediately put my youngest at ease for his first dental appointment. We got to meet Dr. Wright and he did a nice quick check on the kids when Wendy had wrapped up with our little ones. We brought our 1.5 year old twins in for their first cleaning and it went far better than expected. Wendy was wonderful and gave us some excellent tips for brushing the girls' teeth and wean one of them from her beloved pacifier. I never leave reviews. This is hands down the best dental practice. From start to finish they get 5 stars. Front office: Very friendly, professional, courteous and good customer service. They dont treat you like a burden like some other practices. On time appointments. Facilities: Top notch. Clean, comfortable, modern, and you watch a movie or your favorite channel on the ceiling while they work on you. Staff: Hygienists and Assistants know what they are doing and are knowledgeable, efficient, and friendly. Dr. Wright: Simply the best. No need to look further. Right in the sweet spot of dental practice. NOT fresh out of school, NOT years past when he should have retired, NOT recommending outdated treatments...just right. He knows his stuff, but most importantly, he is honest and trustworthy. He isn't going to recommend unnecessary and expensive treatments just to make a boat payment.
