My insurance company has told me that my obligation to pay is on the remainder amount AFTER it has been submitted and the insurance company has paid the negotiated, contracted amount. NOT to pay up front. I told your clerk this and she refused to hear it. She would not allow my surgery to begin until she had received 50% payment and a payment plan set up and signed. I felt pressured and very bullied! All while in a very vulnerable situation. I was nervous for my procedure and in a HOSPITAL GOWN. Is this how you run your business?!?!?!? I just got off the phone with my insurance company (DMBA), and they confirmed that I was not obligated to pay upfront. IT IS A NEGOTIATED ITEM WITH THE INSURANCE COMPANY that I am responsible for my out-of-pocket max AFTER the insurance has paid. YOU BROKE CONTRACT with this behaviour. Nursing and medical staff were wonderful but sadly Billing department overshadowed everything else positive and I will not be having any other procedures here again.

I went to the Orem Community Hospital Emergency Room yesterday morning at the request of my dentist…read morebecause I have a severely infected tooth, a visibly huge and swollen cheek, and so much pain, OTC meds weren't touching it so I was forced to take my back pain meds (which still didn't take the pain away,) as well as a fever of 103.4 earlier in the morning. My dentist thought I should go to the ER for IV antibiotics for fear that my tooth infection had turned into something much more serious because the antibiotics he gave me weren't working. The admitting person was a sweetheart as was the male nurse; both compassionate, empathetic, and kind. The doctor came in and made me feel foolish and idiotic for going to the ER for 'simple' tooth pain, actually pulling faces at the mention of a dentist sending someone to the ER, and rolling her eyes. THEN, when she seemingly, finally decided to figure out exactly what was going on, she sat down in front of me and said, "Hon, tell me what is going on. How did this happen?" All I could think was, are you serious?? I mean look at my ginormous, pink cheek, lady!! She talked to me as if I were a child and was extremely condescending. I just felt stupid and wanted to leave and go to a different ER but I had an IV at that point (for blood tests, mind you, not antibiotics). Then she sent me in for CT scans of my face to make certain that the infection hadn't spread anywhere dangerous, finally taking my issue seriously. She didn't give me the IV antibiotics for the severe infection, she simply 'upped' my antibiotic (from the one the dentist gave me) to a stronger one. How hard would it have been to simply give me even just a injection of stronger antibiotics?? Or better still, through the IV that was already in my arm?!? Then, she numbed my tooth to take away some of the pain, which it did, for about 30 minutes when the pain came back with a vengeance. I feel like the doctor didn't like being told what to do from a measly dentist, or God forbid, me, and didn't do the antibiotics out of sheer stubbornness and pride. No, I did not go to medical school, I am not a doctor and will not pretend to know how to heal someone in the way a doctor can. I do know my body and knew something was wrong. I also know empathy, which this doctor didn't seem to posses, nor, really, did the female nurse who just acted like it was an inconvenience for me to be there. I went to this ER with the hopes of having some relief from my pain and severe infection. I left feeling stupid for going in the first place. There was no empathy, compassion, or even patience from this doctor. I know there are other doctors working at the Orem Community Hospital's ER, some with likely more empathy than was shown me, but I will *never* chance that again. I will drive the extra several miles to AF Hospital's ER where they are kind, respectful, and even humble enough to listen.

They didn't ask after either. I got a statement in the mail with a paystub and a return envelope. I made a payment(what I could). I am on social security with no other income. The next month I got another statement, made the same payment, did this for 4 months then SLAM. They SLAMMED me into collections for the rest. No notice to call, no call, nothing said letting me know the payments I made were not good enough or that I needed to call, nothing just SLAM me into collections, granted my fico score is in the toilet anyway and I don't care because I pay cash for everything. I will never use this facility for anything ever again.

He worked hard to really understand what I was going through and how I was feeling. He answered all of my questions. The office itself is always very busy. But the staff has always been polite. I would have given them 5 stars, but sometimes they can get backed up quite a bit. One time they got behind by about an hour or so which was kind of annoying. And they are usually booked out a good 6 weeks. I do appreciate that they have a lab in the building, so if you ever need blood work done, it is right there. From the moment I walked in, I knew I was in extraordinary hands. Dr. Taylor is not only a gifted Physical Therapist -- he is also an Osteopath, and that distinction made all the difference. On my very first visit, he provided a comprehensive osteopathic treatment, followed by stim therapy and aquatic therapy. I left feeling dramatically better than when I arrived, and with a clear, structured 6-week rehabilitation plan ahead of my next orthopedic surgeon appointment. That level of thoroughness and intentionality on a first visit is rare. What truly moved me, however, was this: I came in for my knee, but the fall had also aggravated an old neck injury. FYZICAL in Orem is THE place to go for pelvic floor physical therapy. I was referred here by my…read moresurgeon after my hysterectomy. Pelvic floor PT involves everything from the diaphragm to the pelvic floor - it's so much more (and so much better!) than you think! My therapist, Kimball, is so kind and incredibly knowledgeable. He treats me with respect and explains everything to my satisfaction. He did a thorough assessment and created a personalized therapy plan for me. I always feel comfortable and safe with him. The PTAs, Lexi and Julie, are AMAZING. These women really know their stuff. They are both kind, respectful, knowledgeable, and intuitive. They give me the right exercises to strengthen the right muscles to help my pelvis, back, SI joints, etc. While I'm there, I have a private room and receive one on one attention. We do the stretches, exercises, and other therapeutic activities (e.g., massage, cupping) that I can't do at home. They follow my plan but make changes as needed depending on how I'm doing and feeling. The front desk staff and other assistants are also wonderful. They are always helpful and kind. The rooms are always clean and everything is tidy. They take good care of you here. I'm making excellent progress, so when my insurance ran out (I'm limited to 20 visits/plan year) I kept going. I'm paying out of pocket because it's helping so much. It's absolutely worth it. I have chronic, debilitating low back pain and I've had two ablations done. With this therapy, I function so much better with less pain. I don't plan to get another ablation done. Pelvic floor PT really works. Anyone whose had a baby, abdominal surgery, experiences incontinence, has a prolapse of any kind, etc. would benefit from this therapy. You have to do the work but it's totally worth it. FYZICAL has an app where they load all the exercises you need to do at home. They each have a video in case you forget how to do them. This is one of my favorite things. I'm motivated by streaks so it helps me do my exercises every day. You can also make appointments using the app. For pelvic floor PT, it's essential you see the right therapists. In my opinion, FYZICAL is the only place to go. The therapists and PTAs are incredibly knowledgeable and skilled, and highly trained in pelvic floor PT. They're the best! I would never go anywhere else.
