I got quotes from about 10 different companies around Davidson County and while Perkins' price was great, it was their customer service and attention to detail that made me want to work with them.

So I'll start by saying I didn't hire this company, the work with the builder of my home. My…read morebuilder allowed me to choose my own stain so I met with Perkins. The people in office were very friendly. I told them I loved the natural look of my floors which, unfinished, where a white oak with great variation. To achieve this as a finished look, they recommended I do a water based poly finish and no actual stain. The guy at the office was very confident they wouldn't yellow because of the water based poly... or at least yellow very minimally. He even showed me an example of a test they had tried this on and after four years it was still very crisp with almost no yellow. Great! I paid almost $2k for the "upgrade" and was told this would, in addition to not yellowing, actually be more durable then regular poly and better for dogs because it was more scratch resistant. Fast forward.. I've been in my home two years and everything the claimed to be so true about this product they upsold me on is wrong! My floors have yellowed significantly and in spots that get a lot of light have water almost look like water stains. Not only that, my floors scratch SO easily and damage even easier. Late one night my partner spilled a few drops of laundry detergent on the floors without realizing it and the next morning I have dark brown stains where the detergent was. On top of all that, the floors themselves are terrible. They chip like there's no protective poly at all (and makes me wonder if they're using quality wood flooring if it chips so under normal wear). I've tried to reach out to them about issues but because they get so much work from my builder who I had a dispute with, they won't even return my calls. No idea if they warranty their work because I can't get a response. If you have a choice, I'd go elsewhere.

HE BLOCKED MY NUMBER instead of making it right. I paid for a job that was supposed to be completed in 1-2 days. John and one helper showed up 4 hours late the first day, worked for 2 hours, and disappeared for a few days. When they removed my carpet, they threw it on my front lawn (all 500+ sqft of it!), left my house filthy, and disappeared again for a few days. Then John BLOCKED my number. The trim job was done half-ass, as well, with multiple cracks and non-secured pieces. Their solutions was to caulk the huge gaps in the trim. They fixed a few cracks in the vinyl, but there are MANY left unfixed. I am pleased with the quality of the waterproof vinyl itself and the price. However, the frustration of being ignored mid-job and refusing to make it right was not worth it. His workers called me saying that John didn't pay them. I have since tried to text and call to see if they'll fix the cracks. I am being ignored. So, I have invested in some nice rugs to hide the cracks.

My father died of colon cancer and carcinomatosis only 3 and a half months after being diagnosed. We were very eager to get out of the house he died in and move my mother to Nashville to be with me. When first speaking with the men at CSSI we were told there would be a 3 week to 1 month wait. Upon explaining our situation and our need to be out of this house, they made arrangements to help us immediately. Not only were they very sensitive to our situation, they really came through for us. The people at CSSI are genuinely good people. They care and it shows. Lee is the upstanding man we worked with and he got our hardwood ready in a week so we would be ready to move in by our move in date. The house is beautiful and they did an absolutely amazing job. We consider Lee a friend now, he really went above and beyond. Below I have attached before pictures of the carpet and after photos of the wood.

Originally, the price was $2000-$3000 and he kept asking about homeowners insurance. I told him I wasn't filing it on homeowners ins and suddenly the price came down to $635. hmmm.... price gouging much? So, I hire them. The first contractor comes out to my house and, quite literally, ripped up the particle board. We're talking about jagged edges everywhere that you couldn't even get to with a saw. The next day, a different contractor comes out, who is not happy to see this mess. So, he does his best (minimally) to correct it. The third day, they bring in another guy to help them. We're now on the 4th day. There are 3" jagged spaces between the cut particle board and the ripped out part, which they say they'll patch. By all accounts, when the first guy messed it up, they should have pulled the cabinets and replaced what he messed up, but instead, they'd rather patch and go the cheap route. I should also mention that they shattered my oven door when moving the stove and tried to get out of paying for it. I ended up splitting it with them, but I am not pleased

I initially opted to wash my hands of this company and not leave a review but after finding out…read morefrom a friend they'd posted photos of our home on Facebook as examples of their work, I felt the need to chime in. The final paint job is not their work, it's mine, because his crew did a horrible job on it. Paint on the ceiling, all over the vanities in both the upstairs and downstairs bathrooms. I repainted and repaired nearly every surface they touched because whatever compound they used to patch holes started peeling from the walls (although they hadn't sanded or properly patched to begin with...merely painted over leaving huge marks all over our walls. Some holes weren't even patched and some screws were left sticking out--see pics.) Not to mention the fact you neglected to install gaskets on every single water fixture--three new faucets and all three leaked. Two new tub fixtures and both moved and had to be repaired after you left without completing a final walkthrough. My dad found two of the three drain pipes for the sinks leaking in the vanities. In the upstairs bathroom they'd actually installed the wrong size gasket. And they weren't just a little off; it was twice the size it should have been but instead of going out to buy the correct size to do it right, they shoved it in and left it. A toilet your crew left marked up with a black, hardened mess, deep scratches on our closet doors, terrible install on our kitchen backsplash? Even the small refund you ultimately paid us doesn't account for the time and work and additional contractor we had to bring in to fix what you did. Brand new vanities weren't covered before they painted, paint left on our new tile because they didn't cover the floor or take care around the shower surrounds--very basic things that ANY contractor should do, they didn't. They actually left a couple of trim pieces simply propped up against the wall and never bothered to attach them! A few weeks later, I was washing dishes at my kitchen sink and heard water trickling in the ceiling above me. After calling my husband down and trying to figure out what was going on, he suggested I go upstairs into the second bathroom All Trades renovated and pour water into the overflow drain. Sure enough--there was a huge splashing sound in the ceiling above him. Lucky for Jim and All Trades, we discovered their improper install before it was too late and yet another leak caused major water damage. I do NOT recommend this company. I also suggest you consider removing the photos of our home from your social media accounts as they do not accurately reflect the quality of your work.

Then Mark came out with Chris on time and worked hard to stop the squeaks in our wood floor. They were also able to stop the floor from slightly moving under our bathroom tile which caused multiple grout cracks. We can now get the grout fixed and put a stop to that aggravation.
