This has been one of the worst customer service experiences I've ever had. Premier Martial Arts continued charging my account even after my contract period ended and then renewed the membership without my permission. I never authorized any renewal, yet the charges kept appearing. When I called to explain the situation and try to resolve it, the staff was extremely unprofessional and actually hung up on me while I was trying to explain what was happening. Instead of helping fix the issue, they avoided the conversation completely. Because the unauthorized charges continued and I couldn't get any proper assistance, I was forced to block my accounts just to stop them from taking more money. This kind of billing practice and customer service is unacceptable. No customer should have to deal with unauthorized renewals, ignored concerns, and being hung up on when trying to resolve a billing problem. I strongly recommend that anyone considering signing up read the contract very carefully and keep a close eye on their billing. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this business. read more

I have seen such a change in my son just within the few months he has been coming here (more aware, better at following instructions, respectful). Coaches are so personal with him and are such great role model as he gets older. My son is 3 years old; We started as a trial period to see if he would enjoy and keep up with it; of course he loved it. The criteria of the classes keep him engaged but also learning. I love the honesty of the company and not just money hungry as well; I was ready to sign my baby up for the black belt package but coach informed me that my son wasn't ready for that just yet. My daughter is a student at this school and she loves her instructors and going to class. We have loved the friendliness of the staff. The curriculum is fun and disciplined and we appreciate the lessons they are instilling outside of the sport. We are grateful our daughter has a place to learn discipline and still have a good time. My son is 3 and we just started here. The instructors are extremely kid friendly and are powerful and compassionate strong male figures. They made my son feel so comfortable. He is so excited when I tell him we're going to go to Martial Arts. He struggles with getting frustrated when he can't do something right away, and they have a motto that in short days "Winners never quit! We choose to win!" They have them bow and yell "RESPECT" to their instructors, then turn to the parents to do the same. Both times my son had a lovely nights sleep. My son had splinters in his feet and had trouble keeping up, so one of the instructors helped him through the exercises on his back. It made my son feel so special. My whole family has signed up for classes and we LOVE this school. This particular location has done a soft opening, so if you go there right now (October 2021), take into consideration that the studio isn't finished yet. That being said, the staff are all working at the Elk Grove location as well so you can know the high quality you'll get with this team. Floyd and Phil are so helpful and patient. These are the guys you'll probably first get to know when you come in and check out the place. You know immediately that these men both care about getting you set up for what your family needs. Mimi is the front desk boss. She is always ready to help with account questions, uniform and supply needs, and just about anything else. Mr. Michael (AKA Captain America) is the youngest instructor on the staff but you wouldn't know it if you were judging his knowledge or his abilities. He's proven to be fantastic with the younger kids and I've even trained with him myself and he gives the student exactly what they need every time. He slows down when the student needs it but he will also turn up the intensity if he sees the student can handle it. Mister Isaki is the head instructor at Elk Grove, and Mister Jason is the head instructor at Sacramento. These guys are both incredible teachers. They've worked wonders with my son in particular. My son is 8 and a gamer by nature. He typically has little to no interest in physical activity. These two teachers have taken time to push him when he needs it, pull him aside for extra instruction from time to time, and they're also very deliberate about celebrating his efforts publicly. Master Liner is the owner and head instructor for both schools (the boss man). He shows up at classes really often. After he makes rounds greeting parents and students, checking in on how everyone is feeling about their time at PMA, he will then usually teach the class for a bit. He's so good at explaining how to get each part of a move or technique and also WHY it's important to do it that way. I HIGHLY recommend Premiere Martial Arts and am excited to see this new location fully open and hit the ground running. read more

This school was my four- year old's first martial arts school and at first he was hesitant but after a month he was learning how to stay focused and he started to enjoy it. Instructors are patient and great with kids. They make it easy for little children to want to engage in the activity. Steps are easy for young children to follow along. I removed my son from their program a few months ago and they still charge me as though he and I are still students. Although they provide great training and have excellent instruction, the business side of things is lacking. No one returns phone calls, when you need to speak with someone about business; no one is available to speak, and when you disenroll your self or child from their school, your form of payment is not removed from their records and they continue to charge your account and never acknowledge nor provide you with a refund. Make sure that if you do join, have them remove your form of payment from their records otherwise you will continue to receive charges for services you are no longer receiving and never be contacted by the staff about the charges. read more

They clearly do not know how to work with children with special needs as my sons behavioral therapist came with me to the class with my son and she was too not impressed. I first discovered premier martial arts when I purchased 4-weeks of unlimited kickboxing classes from Groupon for about $20. I was a complete newbie and hesitant on attending any kind of work out classes in general. However, over the course of the trial I grew to love this place. The instructors are knowledgeable, patient and helpful. You don't need any prior experience to "fit in" because everyone in class is at a different level and all work to help one another. After my trial ended, I signed up for a year contract and was able to save some money with a student discount they offer. I came in with a sole purpose of getting into shape but I am pleased to say that I am also developing fighting skills. Every class is different so it keeps it interesting. I decided to take a class at Premier Martial Arts. Initially, as always, I am a little apprehensive beginning a new class. As time passed, I found that the instructors Hisaki, Floyd and Phil are patient and knowledgeable. I like the fact that they do not have big egos and they offer the students their different experiences. I joined for the Krav Maga class but also experienced boxing, jiu jitsu and ground techniques. I enjoyed the training but decided to terminate my contract due to receiving a couple of groin injuries due to my inflexibility. I would recommend Premier Martial Arts if you are interested in learning self-defense, especially for the kids. My only recommendation for Premier is that they would also incorporate and emphasize more stretching and flexibility exercises during the class. I am giving Premier four out of five stars because they need assistance in the accounting department in handling the financial issues more expeditiously. read more

I suspect that if you do some research through the municipal building code, you'd see that each city block must have at least one more martial arts school at all times than a Walgreen's. So with all the martial arts schools out there, why bother with Premier? It's certainly not their eye-catching 'green and yellow' dojo colors. It's not just the fact that they're right next to amazing Thai food. Really, it's the amazing people that run the place. I'll start by admitting the unthinkable. I'm a pacifist. Don't tell anyone, okay? "But Charles," you ask. "Why are you going to a Mixed Martial Arts school if you're a pacifist?" I'll tell you. It's because I'm sitting on my butt all day writing Yelp reviews. I'm out of shape, and this sedentary Yelp lifestyle is doing nothing for my health. And this is where Premier Martial Arts comes in. I needed something to help me get into shape. I'm not new to doing martial arts. I've been an aikido student for many years, and I still consider myself a student, although there aren't any local aikido dojos in Elk Grove. So I had decided to branch out a little and see what other arts had to offer. I had a lot of trepidation, however, as I envisioned all other martial arts schools as places where bullies, jocks, and predators were trained. I had heard that other schools don't give you a black belt until you beat up a minimum of three people in a bar fight. Of course, I based all this experience on my childhood viewing of "The Karate Kid." I didn't want to 'sweep the leg.' Hell, I wasn't even Daniel-San. So from the first moment I entered the place, I was nervous.They seemed nice enough over the phone, but I didn't want to come home coated with blood because my pre-conceived notions were obviously going to end up true. I was just going to watch, but I was invited onto the mat to train, and OH MY GOD, IT WAS HELL. I was doing progressives. I was doing sprints. I was doing sit ups, push ups, throwing punches and kicks, and everything else that a fellow Yelp reviewer doesn't see in his native cubicle habitat. After class, I was sore for three days. I couldn't move. I was so tired and sore that I couldn't roll over in bed. And I LOVED it. I enjoyed every moment of it. I can't say enough for the instructors or fellow students, for that matter. Nobody was expecting us to beat up a bar full of miscreants. Nobody was expecting us to kick the bum leg during class. There's just a bunch of friendly people training, teaching, and learning a wide variety of skills. Sure, they participate in a lot of local MMA competition events throughout Sacramento and the area. If that's your thing, it's a great place to go- these people are GOOD at what they do (and AGILE, damn). If you want the cardio? Their cage-fitness program burns 800 calories per workout. I do the easy, "programmer friendly" workout, but I'm still leaving the place covered with sweat. After about a month, I'm not totally exhausted after each workout. I'm dropping the pounds and getting toned. And I don't have to beat up three people to do it. read more

I have to downgrade the previous review. They do have contracts! And they have the automatic one year renewal clause. So try to cancel on the 366th day and you may be obligated for another year. I think contracts are the downfall of the martial arts world. They take a pure intent and muddy the water with a business tactic that really shouldnt apply to children. Contract just seem to be a way for the school to ensure they dont have to work to keep you happy. I clicked not good for kids because contracts (unless its a Disney contract) are rarely a good idea for kids. read more

I chose this school over other well known chains in the area because I did not want my son to go to a school that was more concerned with collecting testing and belt fees than actually teaching self defence, discipline and respect. Master Liner commands the respect of his students and teaches them valuable life lessons. His knowldge of many different disciplines of Martial Arts like Krav Maga, Kenpo, Jui Jitsu, Muy Thia and others are second to none. Its a shame that the first impression left a very bad taste. deeply disappointed of the organisations tactics. More Than twice I asked them the price and twice they give me a price £69 for a month of two session a week and £49 enrolment fee and free uniform. Twice they gave me the same answer. Today I filled the direct debit forms, I used my card for the enrolment fee and while thinking everything is over I was told I need to pay £55 for per of gloves and punching pad which you can pick up few pounds from Sport Direct. To my repeated demand why they did not clear that expense before taking my card the guy had no reply only a very rude silence like take it or leave it. I had two young nephews with me and I couldn't disappoint them. It was a horrible feeling to be cheated so horribly. Taking the clock back I wish I never stepped in that place and I would most definitely spread my voice to those who think of joining. read more

The atmosphere here is great and the instructors are professional, fun and motivating. I'd recommend this place to anyone wanting to learn a new skill and get back in shape. I attend the adult Krav class but the class starts after the kids and teens classes so I witness the end of them. I don't have kids atm but if I did they would Definitely be going here. The training is not only great for them but the lectures and life lessons the kids receive are worth their weight in gold.
