I never expected to achieve a black belt, especially as an adult. I started Taekwondo at Master Kangs school summer of 2019 and I wasn't sure how to feel about it at first because I was already an adult. However, master Kang and other students have made me feel so comfortable the moment I joined the class. There were only teens and adults in the classes that I attended. I've been bringing my daughter here for two months and she loves it. I like how they teach kids respect as well and how to behave outside of class. I was expecting just the self defense but this is so much better and it's helping my daughter as well. She always has something to look for now and takes what she learns from class with her. My younger daughter sees her practice and she pretends to the moves as well, I might add her too! The instructors are very good with the children, also not sure if the younger instructors are volunteers as well but they are also great. Best family owned Taekwondo ! We are so happy we've found this place! My 3 children love Kang's ATA , they always can't wait to come and practice. They always want extra days to practice more, to improve their skills in self defense. My daughter got her Black Belt here and I'm waiting for my youngest son to turn 4 next year so he can join the oldest ones. Absolutely all the staff are so friendly, professional, they encourage and teach the kids to show respect not just to the instructors, but to the parents, elders and community, also they encourage them to show kindness to others. They provide structure, fun, and safe environment, which allows your kids to grow and develop their skills in self-defense, learn to respect not only taekwondo, but their parents and the community. My kids already have so much great things to say! You can tell Master Kang and his staffs put best interests and safety for their students. Our son has been at Kangs ATA since he was 5 years old and he is now 9 years old and in the Black Belt recommended classes. There is so much to love about the Kang's curriculum and the family themselves. I love as a parent knowing my son is gaining a strong mindset to value himself and others. Knowing when and how to protect himself. We have been able to depend on Master Kang to help us when situations arise in school such as bullying, which has been a big one and how to navigate those situations both physically and mentally with a growth mindset. How to stand up for ourselves and others in a safe and respectful way. I recommend this Taekwondo class to everyone! The instructors are very patient with their students, very positive, and teaches manners. My two children have been going to their class since they were 3 1/2. They have blossomed so much! Master Kang and Chief Master Kang are exceptional instructors and people. Mrs. Kang is a very sweet lady. They allow you to sit in their classes to observe and offer a two week free class to see if this is something you would like to do. I've moved since my kids started their class. I live far from there now, but I still take my kids there. No other class can compare. And is definately worth the drive. I took my 5 year old son the other day to start the 2 week free trial. The place is very clean and allows parents to sit and watch comfortably. Being in a new city having just moved from Boston, my son was very shy and reluctant to join. However, Master Kang and Chief Master Kang were very patient and encouraging. We've tried other ATA places while we were in Boston, but never did they offer a free trial class that was just for first timers. Other places, we've experienced you just join in with everyone during their regular class and it can be very intimidating. However, at Kang ATA the trial class was just for the newbies. Although my son didn't join in, he watched attentively and said it looked like fun. Master Kang is very good with the kids- energetic, encouraging, and emphasizes good behavior and respect. We were welcome to stay for the regular class also to watch. We also met Mrs. Kang who is also very pleasant and nice. My son is definitely wanting to return- and next time try it out. Can't say enough about our first impression. Glad we decided to visit. read more
