Their responsiveness during our emergency was awesome. Unfortunately we had to rip out a substantial portion of the room. Their work product was great. Their pricing was not clear. I got a bill at the end of the day that was insanely high for the work completed. It was explained to me that that is because it was "insurance rates." I am not filing a claim with my insurance so I am getting stuck paying unquoted work (during an emergency) at crazy high rates. Again, their emergency response was great. Their work product was exactly what it should have been. I am just very surprised and disappointed at the pricing. Even recognizing I was in a bind and it was going to cost me, their pricing was simply not fair. Getting a bill after the fact, nothing I can do now except let others know if you aren't making an insurance claim, be prepared for "insurance rates." Dumb of me not to get pricing clearly stated prior but sitting in a wet room with a burst pipe makes you hurry along!

My woodburning furnace flue was a bit complicated and an absolute mess (worst of the year, according to Scott). He went over the associated problems and possible solutions, with an emphasis on safety issues. The fireplace will be getting an insert, and Scott made recommendations for a few fixes that I could do myself. Fair, square, practical, and informative; it is good fortune to find such a person, and he's the one I'll call in the future. I'd say he's the one you should call as well. My highest recommendation.

They discovered that one of the vents was never properly connected to the dryer as the dryer installer just shoved the flexible hose into the wall. Summit Sweeps cleaned out the wall and properly connected the dryer to the vent so that it would exhaust to the outside. Communication was a bit challenging, and I was frustrated when I asked for a call before he came only to wake up early one morning to learn he was already up on the roof. But it was so cheap! Unfortunately, it was wasted money. Richard's work did not make any difference in my roof's leak. When I asked him what he would do about it he said he had done more than we had agreed on already, and then criticized his own tactics and tried to imply they were my fault.
