I've learned quickly from purchasing from outlets that the bag is only as strong as its zipper, which has let me down a few times. The name of the business on the placard says Luggage Prime but the actual name is Luggage Outlet so not sure why the conflict. The store offered big luggage brands like Samsonite, American Tourister, Delsey and Travel Pro.

Weird. So, anyway, we're doing the usual souvenir shopping after our activity for the day, and I'm asking different stores if they have luggage locks. No. And they don't know who does (without traveling several miles away from the port area). Then I find one guy who tells me about this place. Right next to the pier. Turns out we should have asked the crew on the ship. Apparently they all knew about this place. They sell luggage, cell phones, and various accessories. Including luggage locks!! A bit pricey, but this is Alaska. Everything is shipped in. We get what we need, and it's all good. It would be easy to miss this place. But I think it is important to know this is here if you have need of it! So I put the business on Yelp for future travelers in need. We didn't come in with the intention of buying another luggage but rather on gathering advice regarding the Samsonite luggage warranty. I had purchased my bag at the end of last year (at a third party store) and after my second airline trip, the front hard cover case had cracked. Disappointed, I wanted to see what Samsonite warranty may cover as I heard they are good and it was a newer purchase. Bill gave us his solid opinion and advice. Apparently Samsonite usually will cover broken zippers and handles but cracked cases is usually denied. He suggested we can go to a place in Aventura that assesses damages for warranty in-shop as they have authority to do so there, or have this store or another Samsonite store ship it to another assessment location for $20 to be assessed without guarantee that it's covered. If it's covered by warranty, they fix/offer you a new luggage OR if it's not covered, then they won't ship the luggage back to you unless you pay another $20.

I've included a picture of it. So, I stopped by Shine Bags & Luggage in the Coral Ridge Mall. Shine Bags has been here for years and I've bought little things like backpacks from them previously. It's spotlessly clean and has bright lighting making your selection easy. Most everything in this store is of quality meaning meant to last. It's more expensive than the knockoffs found at the Swap Shop but worth it if you don't want to see your underwear, shirts and clothing appear on the luggage turnstyle prior to the remains of your fallen apart suitcase. As I've always used Zero-Halliburton Aluminum, I'm rather loath to change but now with them priced at $950, I might be just as well off with a new Samsonite carbon fiber that saw here for around $290. Anyway the selection a Shine Bags is really good with everything of good enough in quality for most travelers. Fortunately they have bags that are unique in appearance so you won't get stuck sorting through all those black American Tourister bags searching for your own or having yours taken by mistake. Really, don't buy the typical all black soft American Tourister bag or you'll have a devil of a time finding amongst all of the others.

Now I took a look at one, tried to unzip it and when I was done the zipper looked like it was going to break already, without any clothing on it. That's not going to last at all if you check it at the airport. I noticed most bags were around $35-$60 generally. Some bags looked like they'd be alright to travel with, but they were all names I'd never heard of before. Not saying that's good or bad, but I was not familiar with any of the suitcase brands. Would I get a bag here? Maybe. It depends on if I was looking for something long-lasting or not. If I'm looking for something to last a lifetime, then no way. If I'm looking for something cheap(ish) in both quality and price, then sure, why not?
