One of my favorite places to stop in for wine selections. I enjoy the large variety of great wines for girls nights or gifts. I was recently at brunch and tried really nice moscato and was pleasantly surprised to find it here. I really love when they are having a tasting. You get the opportunity to try various wine selections, prosecco and other brands. I will say on this particular day it was a bit hard to be "noticed" . This location is very similar to the Amherst store, but without the Premier Gourmet side. You still have a large assort of wines and spirits. Today's visit was for a seasonal vodka from Ciroc, called Summer watermelon. Thanks go out to Sarah K (Fellow Yelper), for two reasons. First, getting the curbside pickup info for me. Second, recommending this seasonal drink to me. The orderng process was very simple, you have a option for pickup or curbside. After placing your order, you get a confirmation email. This email will let you know your order is being processed, and a follow-up email will be generated shortly on completion. There is a notice that if you place an order after 5pm. The wait time could be up to 2hrs, and possibly next business day pickup. Fortunately for me, i received my order complete 15minutes after I place my order. They were having a sale. Buy a bottle of wine and get the second (same wine) for $1. It worked. I was drawn in. I had reviewed the flyer they sent beforehand, and had looked on-line as well. Preordered some wine I knew we liked and they had in stock (not part of this sale, but an OK price). The wines for the sale were barely ok. I can see why they were on sale. $13 bottles that had no real taste. No substance. But I continued to peruse the options, hoping maybe a gem or two was hidden in with the rest. There may have been but I did not find it. I did find a few bottles of other wines and spirits, and picked up my preorder, so the trip was not in vain. The speaker was Able Gonzales, who not only works for a wine distributor in Brooklyn, but also owns a Fingerlakes winery along with his family. He knows his wines. He supplied the class with salami , bread and cheese and chocolate along with the six wines we sampled. My friend (who is 21+) forgot her ID and the employees were very intense about it. We asked them to set the wine aside for us while we retrieved her ID from home. When we returned they did not have the wine set aside like they said they would. After finding our wine again, the cashier rudely told us we weren't allowed back for 24 hours. Our jaws dropped open. Luckily she checked with security and he said it was fine since we both had our IDs this time. We should've walked out and purchased wine at another store. Oh well, still sent away for the $3 rebate on the size purchased. * Premium Wine & Spirits are very good about gathering the rebate forms and printing out receipts. The prices at Premium are very favorable. With just a slight mark up above cost. There are also frequent sales for various liquors throughout the week. Compared to most other liquor establishments, I was able to locate following @ Premium when other establishments did not carry such items. - 2003 Robert Mondavi Cabernet Sauvignon. - Hendrick's Gin - Plymouth Gin When visiting Premium, head towards the back right of he establishment. This area houses all of Premium's "high end wines" with such notables as a 1995 Louis Roederer Cristal Rose, and a 1995 Chateau Margeaux Borderaux. Customer service was deemed as favorable as employees are aware of where to located any particular liquor. Although certain employee's expertise on a certain liquor may be questionable, their desire to help to the best of their ability should be applauded. Only one note on Premium... Be sure not to get liquor happy. A credit card charge in excess of $300 is not uncommon. read more

OK I was in Global wine and spirits earlier today and wanted to stop in here to compare some Scotch prices. Ultimately I was a bit surprised to find out they are on average more expensive on just about all the scotches. Without sale prices I will be buying mine elsewhere. Selection is definitely huge, but for staple scotches I was surprised they were not the cheapest in town. They will charge you for any bottle containing less than 75% of the liquid plus all shipping costs. I went for one at the end of the cashier line and the cashier said "you know it's 9pm". Now granted it was 9:00pm (closing time) but all I had to do was pay. When is it ok to be rude. Super unpleasant experience today, went in with my little sister, and at the register they asked us both for ID. She's very obviously a minor (12 y/o) and wanted to know if I was her legal guardian. I'm her sister, which doesn't count. So I wasn't allowed to buy even if she went and sat in the car. Now I have no problem with trying to keep alcohol out of the hands of minors, but this has never been enforced before when I've gone, I've had 20 something friends come with me and my sister come in with me before and haven't been carded because they weren't buying. It also seems like a ridiculous policy if the way to get around it, is to just leave your under age person in the car. I considered speaking to a manager, but after the whole thing didn't want to buy from them anymore anyways. read more

Management is the worst and the service is terrible. Couldn't buy wine because my aunt who was with me did not have her ID, while I'm clearly over the age of 21 and both my mom and I had our IDs. They told me I had to wait 24 hours to purchase again. I actually went back the next day with my aunt and because my mom wasn't there I couldn't purchase anything!!! (due to the fact that she was with me the day before and they remembered) What kind of BS is that??? Worst system ever! WIll never go back there again. I love this store. I went in looking for a good wine to bring to my girlfriend's parents for dinner. I didn't know what they liked except for dry and red. I went in not knowing what to look for. After talking to one of their associates, Brian, who was increadably helpful. I was able to find something that fit all of us.
