What I wanted was a dollar more than my store not bad so I looked around checking out the choses they have was a nice size store plenty of different wines and liquor. When I checked out no customers in store only saw one worker that was on the phone when she saw me she came to help with the phone still in her ear I didn't know if she was taking to me or the phone! Now, I'm pretty lame and I don't buy that much wine/liquor these days -- so I'm by no means a "regular" -- but whenever I go in, the employees always offer to help (unless of course they're busy at that moment, then I wait if I need to ask anything). On a recent trip to replenish my bourbon supply (for 'tis eggnog season and that's the only way to drink it), one of the owners said he had 2 open bottles in the back. He went to fetch samples of each. Stellar service! He also let me know about the upcoming bourbon and whiskey raffle and tasting the next weekend. Btw, I went and it was a wonderful event (though pacing yourself is essential). I also have the employees recommend wines based on my tastes or whoever I'm buying for, and price range. I've never been steered wrong. It is not until I check out that anyone even knows whether I'm a loyalty member - I am, having signed up for a card to get reward points to redeem for discounts (takes 2 seconds). The checkout employees are always friendly and helpful also. During the holidays, they offer free gift wrapping for your purchases - which I LOVE since I tend to give booze a lot and I hate having to wrap things. Perfect gift, btw, because who doesn't love booze?! As to being unable to buy certain merchandise - I have not encountered this, but have no problem with a business rewarding its loyal customers with reserving certain rare products. The point of the aforesaid bourbon raffle is to let people buy rare bottles at cost - other places just mark them up until they're unaffordable. Here, they spread the love. Bottom line: They care about their customers. They stock a wide variety of quality products to fit various budgets. They know their stuff. I've always had a great experience and will keep going back. Addy's is a cute liquor store with some really innovative ideas. They also had promotions like mix and match your own case of High Noons, cool if you want to try more than 1 flavor. The entry way was also lined with frozen and unfrozen alcoholic freezie pops. Perfect and ready to take to a summer gathering. These were sold in packs or individually. It is nice to be able to try new products and be able to customize the assortments. The store is big, cheery and clean. The staff is friendly and super helpful. Everyone was wearing a mask and there was plenty of room if there were a lot of shoppers. I came across Addy's when a friend found them on Instagram advertising a Virtual Wine Seminar. The seminars take place on Zoom and are a great way to try something new and have some human interaction during covid. This particular seminar was a blind tasting and the theme was can you tell the difference between a $6 and $20 bottle of wine? The cost was $55 for 4 full sized bottles of wine. They even offered free delivery if you lived in the area. Since I am farther away I called in advance and asked if they would be willing to prepare a package ahead of time for me if I wanted to pick it up? They said it was not a problem. Upon pick up I received 4 bottles of wine packaged in a cute bag. All the wines were wrapped up and labeled so the label was concealed for the tasting. A store associate was very helpful and went over all the directions with me for the day of. The tasting was easy to follow and fun! The day of the event you are told of a wine needs to be chilled, opened beforehand to breathe, etc. The zoom meeting was an hour long and hosted by a sommelier. The host was informative and asked for a lot of audience participation. The only call out I have about the whole night is that an hour isn't much time to get through 4 wines. It would be nice to have a pre taped option if you wanted to take your time and drink the wines slower. Apparently they offer different themes of these virtual tastings every few weeks! A great date night or way to catch up with friends. I would absolutely recommend!
