We are incredibly disappointed with the lack of communication and professionalism from this catering company. We were promised follow-up assistance the morning of our event (a very special baby shower), but we never received a call or message. By late afternoon, we still hadn't heard anything--only to finally be told that they had another wedding to cater and could no longer help us. There was absolutely no advance notice or communication, and we were left scrambling last minute. This kind of service is deeply hurtful and unacceptable, especially for important, once-in-a-lifetime occasions. We expected reliability and professionalism and received neither. We got married two months ago, and Premier Catering was one of the absolute highlights. We interviewed a number of caterers for this event and we hired Premiere because the food was good and primarily because of all the positive interaction that we had with Michael. It was evident from when we first started talking to him that we were going to get great service, and we were not disappointed. Our wedding was probably not an easy wedding to cater. We had an all vegetarian and vegan wedding. All of the food was buffet style as there wasn't enough space in the the event space to do a formal sit down meal. We hired Premiere for our wedding on June 21, 2022, and couldn't be happier with that decision. We had their BBQ buffet. We chose the cedar plank smoked salmon and petite sirloin for our entrees. The sauces for both were amazing. The raspberry balsamic really did it for the salmon. Our guests were gobsmacked by the entire spread, and were gushing about how delicious it all was. My new Brother-in-law considers himself a fish guru, and he says he never had a better piece of fish. My Bride never had a better dessert in her life than the lemon bars. Overall, Premiere Catering is very professional, high quality, and customer oriented. You can tell they definitely care about the quality and presentation of their food and reputation. We were referred to Premiere Catering by our wedding coordinator and wouldn't have it any other way. We ordered the Plank Salmon, cold yakisoba noodles, and appetizers. Our guests specifically mentioned how good the Cedar Plank Salmon and meatball (appetizers) were. The meatballs were such a hit that the trays were always empty. Michael and Peter accommodated to all our needs and had great communication and prompt response times throughout the process. When we found out that our venue did not allow caterers to use the ovens or any equipment for cooking, instead of backing out, Michael and Peter found a solution to ensure that no disruptions would occur. While they may not always work with other vendors or partner with other food options, they went above and beyond to help manage our other dishes from other vendors because they believed in making our wedding perfect. They went and tried the other dishes and understand how they could complement the ones from Premiere. They were affordable and everyone at our wedding loved there food, there wasn't any left overs at all and I wanted some lol The area that premiere really stood out was that they were willing work with us to customize our menu and the food selection. We recently used Premiere Catering for our rehearsal dinner and wedding at Spring House Cellars and Mt. Hood Wedding Chapel and to say both ourselves and our guests were impressed would be an understatement! For our rehearsal we went with a BBQ themed buffet style menu and everyone could not stop raving about the Brisket and Potatoes served. The servers there to assist were incredibly friendly and gave great recommendations on what sauces they liked best with the meat. For our wedding we did family style serving with Cedar planked Salmon, Flank steak with Chimichurri sauce, Mac & Cheese, Potatoes, grilled vegetables, and salad. Our guests were even more thrilled with the food than the night before. I don't think there was any Mac & Cheese left at any table by the time dancing started. Oh...and the appetizers. The mini Korean tacos, spinach and artichoke toasts, ginger glazed meat balls and caprese salad spoon served during cocktail hour were also devoured by our guests. Our servers were very attentive with bringing around wine during dinner and also keeping an eye on the bee's that were floating around our food as we started to finish. We had our bar service also through Premiere and our bartender was efficient and very friendly with all our guests! It wasn't just the two days that made Premiere wonderful but also the lead up to the event. They were always responsive and gave us great suggestions as my husband and I are both in Chicago so had to do many things over email and the phone. :::Disrespected Bride, Groom, and Guest::: THEY DROPPED OUR CAKE! The one credit that I will give this company is that the set up of the reception/bar was beautiful. Other than that I wish I had gone with another catering company. One of the main reasons why we choose Premiere was the fact that they would allow us to have outside food(for cultural reasons) and they would just provide the bar and set up the reception area and ceremony chairs. We paid over $13k JUST for bar and servers! That's not including food! With that said. As the night went on I was told by my aunt that we should move the cake on the dance floor so that everyone could get a better view while my husband and I did the cake cutting ceremony. We got major attitude when we asked to have the cake moved so instead of disrupting the servers we PAID to do such task for us our VIDEOTOGRAPHER, one of the Groomsman and a guest successfully move the cake on the dance floor. First off, what the hell kind of service are we paying for when my videographer and guest have to the things I we're paying thousands of dollars for the catering company to do?? After the cake cutting my bridesmaids asked if the cake could be moved off the dance floor and was once again given attitude and they acted as if we were burdening them- IT'S THEIR JOB!!!! Eventually 2 of the servers decided that they should probably do their job and ATTEMPTED to move the cake, not with the sturdy round table underneath it like everyone else did prior, but by the thin cardboard the cake was sitting on........WHAT in their right mind thought that was a good idea?! Anyway, needless to say they dropped our wedding cake- ON A GUEST. They than processed to play the blame game instead of taking accountability for their lack of common sense. The cake was moved TWICE by guest and other vendors without a hitch, yet when we ask for the catering company to do it they throw a fit and than aren't even capable of moving it without dropping it. They never ONCE offered to reimburse us! Fast forward to being on our honeymoon. This is where we should be relaxed and enjoying ourselves, right? Well, I noticed a couple days into our honeymoon I still haven't received an email with an apology and offer for reimbursement of our cake so I reached out and had to basically ask them what they were going to do about it. This should have been immediate on their end! ALL of the catering companies I've spoke to say it's absurd that they didn't offer compensation right then and there! The email I get back states things they DID reimbursed us for, but than started playing the blame game when the topic of the cake came up. I don't know about anyone else but I HATE being lied to! They are trying to blame my guest for "bumping into the server" which NEVER happened! We had 300 guest and more than 50 eye witnesses! My makeup artist and photographer SAW THE WHOLE THING. Where's the integrity?! Of course I'm upset about the email so I tell my friends and family about what's happening. They are totally upset with the way things were handled so of course they're going to voice their experience and options on yelp and FB. NOW, THIS gets the owner's attention because he's afraid of looking bad so he sets up a meeting with my husband and the GM of the catering company. My husband assumed that it was going to be a simple conversation about reimbursement and an apology-NOT! The ower is instantly red-faced and on the defensive. Pulls out copies of the bad reviews and basically made my husband feel like HE did something wrong. Peter also snickered about the cost of the cake which was extremely unprofessional. I don't care if the cake was $50 or $500 that cake is an important part of the wedding. My mother purchased the cake for us out of the kindness of her heart and we just wanted to give her back her money she WASTED on a cake that never made it on a plate to our guest. Moving on, the meeting with Peter was horrific. He refused to reimburse us until we had our guest remove the reviews! My husband was FURIOUS and told tjem "forget it!" As he was about to leave the GM agrees to try and make things right and writes a check. My husband left feeling disgusted and angry. I speak with my mother about what had transpired as we were trying to get HER cake money back and she felt sick that they had treated us so poorly and refused to take their meaningless check. So, we decide that at this point it's the PRINCIPAL. We don't need their money. We VOIDED the check and hope to never have to deal with unprofessional, unethical scum like them again. No client should ever be left feeling the way we do and they will soon realized how important taking ACCOUNTABILITY for their actions are instead of BLAMING the client for something they did. John and the team at Premiere were great to work with - their style of communicating worked well with mine (they answered all questions in bullet-form responses to mine, to ensure everything was addressed). They allowed us to be fully flexible with our meal options that we provided, and went above and beyond on any special ingredients or requests we made (oh man - Macaroni and Cheese bar was a success). We added in small details, like a late-night snack - those were a huge hit at the end of the evening! The tasting they offered was paired with commentary: understanding their thought process on how food is put together and offered was nice to hear. They also handled our rentals for us - from ceremony chairs to round plates with silver edging (I know... picky picky!) - they not only handled the contract for the rentals, but also the set up and take down. They had champagne for us in the room after the ceremony, and the team at the bar and wait staff were gracious and fun. Premiere catered our wedding at The Foundry in Lake Oswego yesterday. They did a stellar job. At our tasting (eight months before the wedding), John and Peter promised us that if we hired them, they would make sure WE would eat the night of the wedding. Too many of my friends didn't get to eat at their own wedding, and I did not want that for my day. I wasn't just looking for great food -- I was looking for a caterer that would wait on us during the wedding. Long story short, Premiere had a server handing us appetizers within two minutes of our ceremony ending. My husband and I walked back up the aisle (right after being pronounced husband and wife!) and Premiere's server handed us a tray of appetizers and asked if he could get us any drinks. Premiere's servers kept our wine glasses full (also, our vodka and whiskey topped off!) all night, and made sure we got to eat anything we wanted. The steak Diane was incredible, and we are still munching on leftover garlic mashed potatoes tonight. I highly, highly recommend Premiere Catering for your wedding or event. Wedding day 9/13/14 - outdoors in Portland at the Overlook House and 84 degrees. Michael and Peter were wonderful to work from with from our first meeting (and tasting - yum!) right through the end of our wedding reception. We had experienced Premiere's professionalism, great service and food at a wedding up at Mt Hood earlier in the summer and it was an easy decision for us to choose them for our own wedding. We had wonderful hors d'oeuvres during the cocktail hour, and the buffet was exceptional and received raves from everyone. I keep craving the brisket with stroganoff sauce and mashed potatoes.....maybe I can special order that one day soon for no "special" reason other than it was so good! We purchased their wine and beer package and several of my red wine fan friends commented on how good the wine was. Early on in the planning, Michael also provided the timeline for the day and that helped us tremendously in figuring out how the events of the day would play out.
