I've had several holiday meals from Cheryl's during COVID-19 pandemic (Easter, mother's day, Thanksgiving and Christmas). Came here on a Wednesday during lunch not busy at all we were able to walk right in. Our friends told us on the weekend this place has a line out the door. It was tasty food and drinks were great! Im picky with my mimosas and the champagne was amazing and the juice was served as a concentrate. The bottle of champagne with 2 juices a little pricey but well worth it!! My company has used this business for catering several times this month. They have delivered the food on time and set up pretty nicely in the small space we have. We have always had enough food to go around and they have lots of choices so we don't have the same thing over and over. The quality of the food seems pretty good but it does lack flavor. It was so busy when we first arrived and we were afraid that we would have to wait long but instead waited about 2 minutes and was seated in this lovely little heated green house room. Cheryl's on 12th just catered our wedding reception and it was a terrific experience!! Joan, the manager that worked with us, was so kind, friendly and receptive to all of our ideas and needs. She did a great job of getting us exactly what we wanted. From ordering to delivery, it was a seamless and easy experience. On the evening of the event, they were on time and the two helpers/ servers did a great job. We didn't have to do anything at all. We were only supposed to have one server, but they gave us two, which was very generous of them. Because of the size of the event space we used, the outdoor patio, which had a canopied tent covering with space heaters, was the best place to have the food. It was a rather cool, rainy night, with some winds for the first part of the evening, and the servers did a terrific job of coping with this. Everything looked and tasted wonderful! Many guests commented on the wonderful food and asked us who we used. One of my relatives said she'd recently had brunch at Cheryl's and said it was great, she highly recommended the beignets. The food was very good! We especially loved the Thai curried chicken salad, the beef and bleu cheese brochettes on little toasts and the steak, and veggie, skewers. But really, it was all quite tasty! At the end of the evening, they boxed up all of the leftovers and labelled them, which was so great and helpful. I really liked this place. The reason for the 4 star was because I didn't like my Juevos Rancheros that much, not enough to send it back but it was just okay. It's my usual breakfast dish and I was just not as into it at this place. I had a bite of french toast which was good. The indoor dining was all full so our party sat outside in a little private, enclosed hut with a heater! This was so cool and I'm not sure why other places are doing it this way during the pandemic. DO NOT GO TO THIS RESTAURANT DURING COVID! It's so disappointing because I have heard great things about this restaurant. Thus, when I was craving eggs benedict during COVID I knew I HAD to make a reservation! On their website, they advertised really nice outdoor yurts that have individual heaters. I'm still so in shock, I'm just going to go straight into it... 1. The "yurt" we got seated in had a broken door and half of the wall was coming apart 2. It started raining while we were there. Rain started coming into our "yurt" and dripping all over the portable heater. I guess normally we would have been able to just shut the door, but like I said, it was broken. 3. I ordered a Hot Toddy...it was NOT hot and it tasted like cold honey whiskey (no lemon). That was a waste of $12... 4. I ordered the eggs Benedict and it was completely cold and wet (I'm assuming from the rain). The hollandaise sauce had absolutely NO flavor. I honestly get nauseous just thinking about it. 5. I have obviously given up at this point and just need some freaking coffee. So I ordered a lavender vanilla latte. It came out warm and delicious which helped improve my mood. Then, a couple sips in, I realize there is A HAIR IN THE MUG. Y'all, I cannot make this up... 6. In the end, I was expecting the waiter to at least notice that I didn't eat my meal OR drink my drinks. Especially, because every time he checked on us he would randomly rant for about 10-minutes...but he couldn't have cared less. The waiter took our food and gave us the bill. If he would have said something or felt bad in the slightest, I would not be writing this review. But WOW, I will no longer be going out to eat during the pandemic. I understand that the rain made things difficult for the workers but we live in Portland and it's the winter. I really wanted to like this place but it was a very lukewarm experience. We went during their busiest time and that's ok. The staff were helpful and kind, we actually got a table sooner than we had expected. The staff were super attentive and we never felt like we had been forgotten. Zeus, our sever, took great care of us. We both ordered the vegan tofu scramble. It was ok. Nothing special. I was excited to try the "best vegan brunch in town" (as I have heard it called) and was disappointed that it was just veggies and tofu with toast in the side. The sauce it came with ( vegan ranchero?) was great but I found that to be the only standout. We went to Cheryl's on 12th at around 9:00am this morning for breakfast. Although it had been recommended to me quite a while back, this was my first visit. We were greeted by a number of waitresses/hostesses on arrival and seated near the front of the restaurant. Unfortunately, because of our proximity to the front and the spot where ALL the staff stand and hang out (I mean like EIGHT of them), it made for a pretty chaotic ambience. Other than that, the service was great because the waitresses are obviously always on the move! Lol The food was delicious. We both ordered the Portuguese fried rice - which seems to be the most popular dish - and thought it was filling and super flavorful! On my next visit, I think I'd like to try something more traditional. Their French toast, in particular, sounds amazing. I'll just make sure we're seated near a window or in a less busy spot! read more

We were excited to try this place. The sandwiches we got were sub par. My sandwich was on a ciabatta and one bite the sandwich fell apart. The apples on the sandwich were old and mealy. My lemonade had a bug in it. My husband's grinder was fair but we have had better. I have never eaten at Cheryl's on 12th. I didn't want to cook on Christmas so I ordered two days worth of food from them. Here is my review. I used to live in the Bay Area so I've been to some of the best restaurants in the country. For Day 1 I ordered Prime Rib, almond green beans, garlic mashed potatoes, green beans and salad. They give you a huge amount of prime rib for the price. However it was overcooked and not pink as I would have expected. The garlic mashed potatoes are awful. I tasted no garlic at all. No butter or any other herbs - truly awful. The color is also a bit gray. The almond green beans were barely cooked and there were maybe four almonds in the lot. I haven't tasted the salad but they do give you a lot of it. The second day was prime rib (again a lot of it but too well done), mushroom risotto which was decent, brussel sprouts which were also decent and had more almonds than the almond green beans and salad. They also give you two small rolls that were nothing special. I would never order again from them because the things I found tasteless are SO easy to make palatable. The people there were really nice however so I gave a decent tip to the staff. read more

Firstly, I had a reservation for brunch. When I arrived, I was told it would be an additional 20 minutes. Irritating, but not unforgivable. Once we were seated, we were treated to two delightful beignets which I thought would set the tone for the rest of the meal. I was wrong. The food was almost hilariously underseasoned and bland. Was speaking with a co worker we talked about having a small potluck for Cinco de Mayo only to be vetoed by the big boss. He then told us he was willing to pay for it I just had to find the food. I called the number I found for Baja Fresh on Google and got Cheryl's on 12th... perplexed but it was a very happy accident. Spoke to Amy and told her I was looking to put together a company lunch for about 30 people for Cinco de Mayo. She was very patient with me going over the menu items and when I asked her what was in everything she was very informative and descriptive on what ingredients would be in each dish and how they would be presented and served. Cost was $ 12.00 per person ( a steal) 2 salads, rice, beans, chicken casserole, fajitas, chips, salsa, guacamole, sour cream, drinks and sweet little desserts. Everything came with it plates, napkins, disposable serving trays and silverware they delivered ( for 5 bucks ) even set everything up ! Since I had never been the Cheryl's on 12th I was unfamiliar with their food. So it was ,logical that I had concerns about what the food would taste like, concerns over if I ordered enough, if they would deliver on time. I had nothing to worry about. Food arrived just as scheduled, everything was set up by the delivery driver in a professional way. and there was a ton of food to eat. Even the hater in the group who made open despairing comment had to eat their words ( in front of me) . I got a ton of complements from co-workers and my Boss was very happy with the spread. Only down side not enough desserts ( people took more then 1 because they were very small, so some people did not get any) and not enough serving spoons for everything so be prepared. Also bring an extra set of plates and silverware for those who go back for more or "graze" on the leftovers for the rest of the day. Also you might was to bring foil or Ziploc bags for people to take home leftovers. I intend to work with them in the future, they were so reasonability priced, easy to work with and reliable and the food was top notch. Great food and plenty of it, Happy Co-workers and the big boss thinks I am genius! The UW Chamber Singers hired As Good As It Gets for a delivered group dinner while we were in Portland for a conference. When I found them online, they seemed like an easier, more economical, and yummier option to a restaurant for 40 people. Turns out they were all that and more! The options were plentiful and could accommodate all our kinds of diners and they created one individual meal for a special diet for no extra cost. Pauline and the staff who delivered were efficient and communicative and worked with a few layers of university administration to help out sort out finances and on-site contacts. I've ordered their chili omelette and it's been very tasty! I do enjoy it and all but I have to say those hash browns with corn flakes were kinda gross. Idk who told them that was a good idea, it's not. They're hash browns with onion, sour cream I believe, cheese and corn flakes. I give them credit for being creative but honestly it was not executed well. My partner had an egg dish there I can't remember what but he got a bad stomach ache...so that was another problem. But overall I think it's okay, I'd like to perhaps eat there in person to see other menu items to try. They catered 4 days of film shooting for my cast and crew, and it went spectacularly well. Everyone loves and praises their food, and they made it so incredibly easy. Call them up with a couple days notice, tell them what, where, and when, and really good food shows up along with all the plates and utensils and all that. No fuss at all. And their prices are actually pretty reasonable. I'm very happy! Specific recommendations: fajita platter, potatoes au gratin, sandwich platters, chicken marsala. We also had the gyro platter, which is great except they didn't include near enough of the gyro "tortillas" for the number of people, and the amount of toppings they included. We also did the Enchilada Casserole, which was good but not as good as the other dishes we tried. And you guys are very likely to start getting quite a few more orders from fellow filmmakers in the coming weeks, as some of my fellow filmmakers have now gotten the word :) read more
