My experience with Dr. Hu and his assistant Veronica were wonderful. Dr.Hu is an excellent Facials Plastic Surgeon. He is extremely knowledgeable, courteous, has a great bedside manner,he listens to a patients concerns and is very respectful without any arrogance and ego or being dismissive. I had originally seen Dr. Duffy, who I found dismissive, cold, and had me undergo a procedure (he would not perform) that went against CT scan findings and other physician opinions. I had a procedure with Dr. Cox....he's one of the nicest and most companionate surgeons I've ever met. He's also super skilled with many years of experience, double board certified and Harvard trained. I had surgery with him almost 5 weeks ago and I couldn't be happier and healthier. I've had 4 post op visits with him and he genuinely cares about all patients. On consultation, I knew I would be in good hands. His surgery coordinator, Veronica is great too!! She responds to my messages in a timely manner and answers any questions I have. As for the pre op consultation of surgery, I felt like it was a bit rushed and could've been organized better...partly because they rushed me in to have surgery a week after this appointment. The surgery center is super clean and had state of the art equipment. I had surgery at Huntington hospital, if I can recall correctly, it was better than the hospital! The front desk is a hit or miss (service wise). I should also note that it gets super crowded here and sometimes I've waited an hour or longer for post op appointments. Holy shit! We haven't even made it to our consultation for my son. I called 2 weeks in advance to see if they have any openings and the woman who answered does not need to be answering phones. New patient here. This place rude, inconsiderate, and ghetto. The front desk was short and unattentive. She just kept answering the phone even when I tried to ask her a question she just put her hand up and said, "I'll be right with you" then kept answering the phone. Rude! Was seen by the PA Carlito right away. He was friendly and nice but that was only decent part of this visit. He siad my surgeon, Dr. Cox, is on his way and will be there shortly. From seeing Carlos to seeing the surgeon took ALMOST 2 HOURS! Complete disrespect of my time! Carlos kept coming in every 30 min to ask if I needed anything. He clearly was being nice and kind because I was upset and kept reassuring me that the doctor is coming in soon. I asked for some water and they informed me that there was NO WATER BECAUSETHE DISPENSER IS NOT WORKING! WTH?! The worst part was I could hear the surgeon chit-chatting with another patient in another room for a WHOLE hour because the walls are so thin. I can hear them talking about how old and demented Biden is and how the CFO there said black lives matter, just not to me! NOTHING ABOUT MEDICINE! I can see y some reviews say this place is racist! Where to start. I was referred to Dr. Ahmed from Huntington Hospital ER. My son had a terrible fall and ended up with a very deep laceration on his forehead. He was operated at ER and they referred me to this place to follow up in 3-5 days after the operation. 1. No one answers the phone! 2. The receptionist is condescending and not very nice 3. The doctor does not even introduced himself and did not wash hands or wear gloves while removing sutures. 4. The office is so disorganized, they spent like 10 min looking inside drawers for a simple hemostat and blade to remove sutures. In front of us the doctor said to his assistant ' this place is a mess, who is responsible for this?' While looking for his tools. So unprofessional!!! 5. To top it off, checking out the receptionist tells us the doctor only takes cash!!! Ahhh??? Im like what kind of medical facility is this? She noticed my face and so changed right away and said cc is ok if we had insurance. Please find another place, don't give this place your money. He has corrected my congenital asymmetry to as close as perfect as possible. He is the King of Subtle. He wants you to look like a more symmetric, beautiful, youthful version of yourself. But what if you don't want subtle? What if you happen want to look like a cosmetic procedure junkie? Carlitos can effortlessly do that kind of look, too, if you insist on it. And somehow his highly skilled hands can even make fake look practically natural. This is not the kind of skill anyone with a degree or license can just acquire with practice. I was traumatized by my experience here. I have been in pain for some time, and finally after jumping through all the hoops i was referred to Dr. Cox for a breast reduction and he came highly recommended by someone i trust. Finally i was going to get some relief...... NOPE!!!!!!!!!!!!! The surgery went fine but after 3 months i still wear the same size bra. I am still in pain, and i am extremely depressed over the whole ordeal. Mind you i started off (and finished) as a size 36DDD Here is where the trauma comes into play: Carlitos (Dr. Cox P.A.) was the one who saw me for all my follow up visits. He told me they only took 100cc of solid tissue and 100 cc with Lipo. I come to find out that isn't even one bra size for me. After my third visit he told me they were as small as they were going to get. Which is coming true. My last visit i arrived very upset, and wanted to be heard by Carlitos. They were 1 1/2 hours late seeing me. Finally got in to see him and while trying to explain to him why i was upset he kept barking at me "it's ok just tell me" interrupting me and was sitting about 6 inches from my face. I had to tell him to wait because it takes me a minute for formulate a thought. THEN the AWFUL front office lady called him out to the hall not even a minute later (i honestly think he had her do that on purpose) because HE WENT while i was sitting there crying. He was gone for another 1/2 hour and i heard them all talking about Door Dash. When he came back in he said he called the Dr in because he could see how upset i was. So, cut to Dr. Cox coming into the office. Dr Cox tells me he took 300 grams of tissue and that i am C cup because the way you measure a bra size is (Around the breast - 4 inches) minus (around the rib cage). Which IS NOT how you measure for bra size. I have been a woman my entire adult life with large breasts. You DO NOT take 4 inches off. ok for the sake of argument lets just say he is right.... Why am i still fitting into my 36DDD? Why can't i fit into ANY 36D much less a 36C... HELLO!!!! He also said that he could only take so much tissue as there is a ribbon that runs down the breast and it needs a certain amount of breast tissue for the nipple to survive. I am a 36DDD just how much tissue does it need!!!!! My mother had reconstruction and had her normal breast reduced to the size of her modified one and she still have feeling in her nipple so no Dr. Cox they DID NOT graft the nipple back on like you said you were sure of. He did tell me they could take out more tissue and do some more lipo but that it would be extremely painful and my breast would be bigger than they are now for a while. UGH!!! The very last thing he said to me was "hey, at least the grooves in your shoulders are gone..... UM, BECAUSE CARLITOS TOLD ME NOT TO WEAR A BRA AT ALL FOR 2 MONTHS. Then Dr. Cox instructed me to wear one as often as possible because "it will help with the swelling" .... NOPE!!!! As mentioned they are the same size and the grooves in my shoulders are back along with shoulder pain, neck pain, and headaches.. Have i mentioned i am miserable? They also told me they would have Veronica (Dr.s assistant) call me and she never did. Here is my take on what happened: Because i used my insurance company to pay for it, and because i have an HMO Dr. Cox took the easiest and fastest route. All i got was a lift, not a reduction. Dr. Cox phoned it in on this procedure. I think he could have performed a reduction that i would have been happy with but more time on the table means less money for him for his time. Now i get to start the process over again because i am still in pain. I was so looking forward to being pain free and happy and i am nothing but miserable. Miserable from my pain and miserable that i had to endure the horrible treatment being told that my breasts are smaller. My elderly mother needed to have her split open elbow cleaned and sewn up and they were able to squeeze her in on the same day after urgent care said they were unable to help her they referred us here. The surgeon Dr. James Recaberan and his entire team ( receptionist, PA and nurse) were unbelievably kind to us and let me stay in the room with her during the procedure. The PA , Carlitos held her hand and told her in a way that can only be explained as touching and sweet that all would be ok and that she was doing great. His bedside manner was just what the stressful situation called for. He is going places that is for sure. Our surgeon was confident and witty and took her from being split open like a watermelon, to barely could tell what had happened . They had us in and out in about one hour. If we had gone to the ER it would have taken half the day. I highly recommend Premier Plastic in South Pasadena. My mother has had a very rough year first with a broken humerus and then this wound just 2 weeks after being in a cast/sling for 10 weeks. I met Dr. John at the Methodist Hospital's Emergency Room. They sent him down to take care of the plastic surgery for the infection on my left face (the upper lip). I am glad I had him, even though he told me I may have a scar, but in the end, he did a really good job on it. It was also nice for him to take his time to visit me everyday to check-up on me (compared to the other doctors that said they would but end up seeing different doctors during my stay) while I was staying in the hospital. Today, I came to thank him again and to follow-up with him for I promise I will make sure my healing process goes well (don't want to take any risk on my face) after they gave the approval to released me from the hospital. Even though I schedule for appointment and came in a few minutes early, seems like they are running really busy, lots of patients in the waiting room; shows you that their patients trust them and to follow-up with them. I was referred here by my insurance company for a Panniculectomy (More or less a tummy tuck), after losing so much weight. My consultation was with Dr. Compoginis. I am so glad he was the doctor I was assigned to. He had all the answers I needed, and walked me through the steps of getting the surgery approved by my insurance company. He was very accommodating in getting the surgery approved to be done at Arcadia Methodist which was my hospital of choice. They were able to get my surgery covered as medically necessary through my insurance, and scheduling the surgery was very simple. It took less than two months from the first referral to the actual surgery being scheduled. I have met with Dr. Compoginis numerous times since my surgery (August 2nd) for follow ups, and he always answers my questions honestly, even if I did not like the answer haha. I am unsure if I am going to have any more work done, but if I do he will be the surgeon I go to. read more

Was referred here by my ENT who is wonderful, however my experience here was traumatic. I was physically assaulted which resulted in a broken nose so I came to this office for a rhinoplasty the first consultation I had was dry and rushed, Dr. Duffy said to me "my septum is more deviated than yours" which I found off-putting but again since I was referred by a great ENT I continued on to the second (pre-op) consultation which was far worse. Dr. Duffy asked why I was there... to which I responded it is my scheduled pre op consultation?... He immediately started to talk about payment Dr. Duffy claimed my insurance would not cover the surgery however I had all insurance approvals there in hand that showed otherwise. He started to talk about how insurance is only out for its shareholders and would not and I quote "do this surgery to get paid $50" to which I replied that he was making me very uncomfortable and was was making me feel as though I was trying to rip him off when in fact the insurance was covering the whole procedure. He was very upset and said he would not do part of my surgery that he (him, not my insurance who covered this) considered "cosmetic" this was ONE WEEK prior to a scheduled surgery. I was left embarrassed and humiliated but I am very glad I did not proceed with Dr. Duffy Who clearly does not care about his patients. My advice to anyone considering a rhinoplasty here is DON'T. Or show up with a wad of cash or a credit card (they don't offer other payment plans) for Dr. Duffy to give you at best a lackluster experience. I hope he gets his $50 for my consultation in which he did nothing but waste a single mothers precious time. Absolutely awful experience please take your money and or credit card somewhere else. read more

I was rushed to the ER as I had been bitten by a dog just above my hand. All the tendons were torn and I was bleeding profusely with very deep lacerations. I thought I would never be able to use my hand again and I am a pianist!! Sing Wing Poon is a magician! He is also the most dedicated of doctors, giving his time even if he is not on duty, to answer questions. I feel as though he performed a miracle on me. Just adore him. Meeting Dr. Cox and his Assistant Veronica was a blessing. I had two previous surgeries with a well-known Doctor who works out of Marina Del Rey. I was later referred to Dr. Cox in Pasadena California through my primary care physician. Due to my previous surgeries I was hesitant but went in anyway. The office was clean, the receptionist was precise and the doctors assistant answered all of my questions and concerns which coming from me means a lot since I am a pain in the butt. My husband was there for the whole thing and the office was accommodating as far as conveying information, helping him get me in the car and ready to go. Doctor Cox and Veronica made me feel comfortable since day one and the process went completely smooth. The surgery center was wonderful, The PA, anesthesiologist and office staff were great. I have no tolerance for pain and I can honestly say that pain management was handled with delicacy and care. One thing I will mention is visits sometimes take a bit but trust me every minute is completely worth it. He does not leave the room until each and everyone of your questions are answered and he is very honest and telling you what suits your body and what does not. At the time of my first visit Dr. Cox said he was going to treat me as if I were a little sister which I thought was cute but he really has. When I see him he's so caring and pays attention to every detail. His assistant helped me from calming me down on my first visit to a few nervous texts regarding second thoughts on my part to ideas on how to research the surgery and everything in between. I am very grateful and recommend anyone who is interested in Plastic Surgery to come to this office. They also have specialists that do other things and the people I've seen in the office seem to not be in much pain and seem to be happy with their results. I am still involved in an insurance payment dispute with this office from back in 2018 because they are balance billing me for an emergency surgery that was already paid by my insurance as the surgeon is in-network. This is AGAINST THE LAW. If you have an emergency and your surgeon is coming from this place I pray for you as you will later be surprise billed for the balance of your insurance claim, in my case $24,000. This review is for Dr. Sing Wing Poon. Our 1 year old son got a nasty laceration over his right eye so we took him to the Urgent Care near Huntington Hospital. The on-call doctor didn't feel qualified to treat an infant with an injury near the eye so he referred us to Dr. Poon. Despite his busy schedule, Dr. Poon looked at our son's injury right away and told us to go to the ER at Huntington to prep him for anesthesia and sutures. He called the Charge Nurse at Huntington so we would be admitted right away. He then gave us his cell phone number and told us to call him if anything came up. A couple of days later on a Saturday, our son rolled around on the floor and his scab started coming off. We texted pictures of the scab to Dr. Poon on Saturday evening and to our surprise, he said he would come to the office that evening at 8:45PM to see our son on his personal time. He removed the scab, put on more dermabond and took care of our son all on a Saturday night! In late March of 2022 I went into this office for fillers, I was referred to this office from a friend who got a breast augmentation, because I originally wanted a breast lift. So because I had a consultation with a doctor whose name I won't name, I figured I'll go to him for under eye fillers. BIG MISTAKE! #1 the fillers weren't injected properly, I had filler in my nose area (& it wasn't because they moved) it was there from the first day, but I was told to just massage it smh but it NEVER went down, my nose looked deformed... and #2 they only looked good for about 1 1/2 month after getting them. When I was told they would last 9 months! I wasn't given the proper nurtured care needed prior or after the injections from the doctor, for someone who never had this procedure done before. Like what to avoid, what to do & what not to do in order to maintain the fillers, INSTRUCTIONS to avoid any sort of problem. He just injected my face and that's it, didn't explain necessary information....so in May I started to experience darkening under my eyes and swelling, it got worst and worst! When I went in for a check up, he tried to tell me that I needed surgery instead because the fillers didn't work on me. Basically tried to make it seem like my face looked like that prior to the fillers, like come on dude! I've had my face ALL my life, I know what it looked like ( side note he didn't take before & after pics because he said it wasn't necessary.) Also a problem...Any-who he passed me to Carlitos because I guess he didn't know how to fix the problem, however Carlitos identified all the problems right away. He began to nurture me back to normal thank God! In the end I still dissolved them, and my face is still transitioning BUT it looks way better! & Carlitos took good care of me, I'm grateful for him! Moral of the story is, NEVER go to a surgent for cosmetics procedures! ALL the distress and trauma that I had to experience could have been avoided, had I went to a cosmetic specialist from the beginning smh. But if you visit this office for cosmetic needs CARLITOS is your guy, avoid anybody else, other than that I suggest you just love yourself the way you are! This situation taught me that I was beautiful just the way I was, and I should have never tried to enhance what honestly didn't need to be fix. But hey you live to learn! read more

I was referred to Dr. John Compoginis for a precancerous mole that needed to be removed. I have had 2 previous cancerous moles/spots removed by the dermatologist office P/A who scarred me terribly so I wanted a plastic surgeon to remove and stitch this one. I really liked Dr. Compoginis, very kind, honest, and accommodating. But best of all, he did a great job at removing the entire problem area and "sewing" me up...you can barely tell where it was! Hello Yelpers, Hope this information is useful to you. I am writing this as a thank you for the service that Premiere Plastic Surgery provided to me. I have never taken the time to write a review or comment on social media but Dr. Compoginis, Dora and Premiere Plastic Surgery went that extra effort to make me feel more comfortable and accommodate my needs, this is the least I could do. I had gone to 2 different surgeons in last 5 years but never felt comfortable enough to actually go through with the procedure (for rhinoplasty). I felt the doctors were sugar coating the procedure and felt a great deal of fear to actually go through with it. I met with Dr. Compoginis and he gave it to me straight which I think surprised him that I would actually go through with it. I admire his honesty and did not feel pressure in getting it done. It might not be the greatest sales tactic but appreciate it because I wanted to get an honest, straightforward answer and zero surprises later. No gimmicks or quick fix results. It's been exactly a week, a little puffy but feeling ecstatic. This is under the heading of "if I knew then what I know now". As a medical professional I cannot send a strong enough warning about one of the physicians within this group, Dr. Ahmed. I was in the ER and needed a hand surgeon and he happened to be on call. I didn't see him until I was in pre op and had to ask him who is was. I had a pin placed and was told I would have it removed in their surgical center. I signed a paper that said it was my responsibility to verify insurance benefits but since Aetna was who paid him in the hospital I ASSUMED terribly wrong. Over $3000, was my portion of the claim. I tried for the past nearly 2 years to negotiate with them with no call backs. Finally I wrote a letter outlining my complaints. What did I get as a response to that? A phone call from an unhappy Dr Ahmed that I would dare question his treatment. I finally ended the conversation when he told me it was my problem. Then today I receive a 5 day demand letter for full payment! I guess that's what you get for questioning the great and powerful plastic surgery practice. I see lots of reviews with 5 stars, but I wouldn't risk it again. read more
