There's no receptionist so no one answers your phone call. Their haircuts are mediocre at best and overpriced. While we were there, another woman with her kids came in and complained that no one picked up the phone. Find a better salon for your kids! I'm responding to the incorrect response provided by the owner. Yes we were late but it was about 10 minutes. The stylist did NOT do the haircut. She did a bang trim ONLY after spending five minutes discussing it with me and the customer after me. The customer after me started EXACTLY on time. During the time that I was there another family came in and complained no one picks up the phone. This is simply a fact because there's no receptionist. It is my perception that the haircuts are overpriced and mediocre so I will repeat it again. read more

We had a bad experience here recently! First time there last year was with Maria and it was a good experience and haircut! But our recent experience was with Sherry and not a good one! She cut much more off my daughter's hair than we asked and the layering just looks bad! In the back there is a chunk of hair that is just cut off out of place and much shorter than everything else. We are hoping to go fix it someplace else. For the price of $60 I did not expect this experience! read more

Maria cut my 20mo old son's hair and right from the moment we walked in she was warm and friendly. My son can be shy with strangers, but he very quickly warmed up to her. She made the haircut fun and successfully distracted him when scissors were in front of his face or she was about to use the buzzer. I rarely write Yelp reviews, but I definitely want to make sure everyone local to Town & Country know to come here for their children's haircuts. Sherry was so wonderful with my almost 3.5 year old daughter who had never had a haircut before. I wasn't sure if she would do well, and the whole experience was amazing, largely in part with how warm and welcoming Sherry was. My daughter was moving around a lot and taking it all in and Sherry was very patient and was able to give her an amazing haircut. My daughter and her younger sibling walked out with a lollipop and sticker each. We will definitely be back when the time comes! read more

The hair cutter (Cilia) that day was pretty rude. We are the customer, but we feel like we are at the mercy of her time. We were late about 10 minutes, and all we needed was a quick trim/layer of her bangs and hair. She complained that she was so busy, yet the place was empty. She was saying that she had to take her lunch break short because it has been so busy. So, wouldn't us being late allow her to have extra time to eat? After that, she was yapping on and on about what ways my daughter would if she does this and that. Overall, I don't think she spent that much real time cutting my daughter's hair. In fact, it was so incomplete, I would have to find another haircut place for her. She even told me that she did not charge us for late fee and that typically a haircut would be around $70. This is not true. I have better haircut places with very good services, and they do not overcharge for just a trim. I will never choose PREP again. PREP needs to hire better people. read more

We've been going here for years for our two kids, and I called today because of a timing issue with our appointment due to an illness with one of our kids, and asked if we could reschedule and got the rudest response I have ever received. It actually left me speechless on the phone. It's unfortunate as we will never return again. It's possible to deny a request and still be polite and respectful. We LOVE Maria at Prep - have been taking both kids to get their hair cut by her since they were about 4 and 6 when the salon was owned by a different company. Maria consistently gives both my daughter with very long hair and my son with a traditional boys' cut a very great cut. She takes her time but also goes efficiently enough that the kids don't get too stir crazy. I know we have all learned how to cut hair during the pandemic, but I think I'm going to go back to Maria because her cut on my son especially just looks so much sharper than I can do as an amateur. Everyone PLEASE NOTE - you can now MAKE APPOINTMENTS at the new salon, Prep. The old one had a super annoying wait-list system that was totally inefficient and made me so frustrated (I still went because I think Maria is so kind and she gave my kids such good cuts). Now it's so much better at Prep, because you can actually just make an appointment like you would at your own salon. Whew! read more

Sherry cut my son's hair today and did a fantastic job. She was also a lovely person who made my son feel comfortable. Salon has great ambiance -- clean, bright, and welcoming. So, 5 stars there. Taking off a star because the prices are sky-high. I can stomach the $40 for my son's haircut. But for my daughter, a bangs trim is $19 and a hair cut is $59 - goes just below her shoulders. My almost 3 year old had a horrid time getting a haircut here. The cut was badly done, and the lady looked like she had no clue how to work with a young child. The end result was a horribly munged haircut with very uneven edges, and a bleeding ear where the lady (I hesitate to call her a stylist) nicked it with her shears. Needless to say, we're not coming back here any time soon and won't be recommending this place either. read more

DO NOT GO HERE! If I could give this business 0 stars I would. I am sure the woman that cut my 12 year old daughter's hair had little to no training. We showed her a picture, asked if she could cut some long layers in her hair and give her a trim and she said no problem. The first thing she did, before anyone could stop her, was cut 5" inches off! This was years of growth. We were all in shock. There was nothing we could do at that point but let her cut the rest of her hair that length while I watched as my daughter's eyes fill with tears as she realized what this woman just did. Adding insult to injury, it was the worst haircut I have ever seen - a very uneven blunt cut bob that she kept insisting were layers. My daughter is still crushed by this. And I am so angry. Why would any business hire someone who has no idea what they are doing? It's completely irresponsible and the management should be put to task for hiring someone that is so incompetent and reckless. *I don't know the name of the woman that cut my daughter's hair but she was a middle aged Asian woman. read more
