The haircut I received from Toy was well-priced and adequate, but it was not quite what I requested. Allow me to explain. Upon phoning Toy, I asked about the cost of a haircut. She initially started a bit higher, but quickly dropped the price to $45 with a shampoo. I brought in a front-facing photo of the cut I wanted (created by AI, using a photo of my face). Upon arriving, I immediately showed her the image and asked if she could do the cut. Without examining my hair, she said she could do so. We proceeded to the hair washing station, where she did a good job, including a gentle scalp massage. Since I was cutting my hair short (from a bob), she repeatedly (at least five times) said that it would be good to have an easy hairstyle without any hassle. Each time, I agreed that I wanted a wash-and-go hairstyle, where I didn't need to dry or style it. (Toy is rather talkative, which some would consider a negative. I thought it was neutral.) When we got to the chair, I pointed to the areas where my hair was receding and said that I wanted those areas covered with hair. She acknowledged my request. I held the photo in my hand, at an angle where she could see it, throughout the cut. I was surprised that Toy cut my hair with a razor instead of shears. I now understand that this can be a better option for pixie cuts, but I wasn't expecting it. Moreover, whenever she pulled my hair taut, it was a bit uncomfortable to feel the razor tugging at my hair. I could not see the progress she was making as I had removed my eyeglasses. Toy showed me the back of my hair with a mirror a few times, requiring me to put on my glasses to see it. (The back looked fine.) I did not get to see the sides of my head nor the front, since my glasses were off when she was working on them. I did have my glasses on for a short while, but the lighting in the salon is sub-optimal, so it does not allow for the patron to get a good view of what the cut looks like. Near the end of the cut, Toy twice asked me about the hair that sat on my forehead. It seemed longer than the photo I had given her, so I said that it was too long. She cut it shorter each time, but I could NOT see (looking directly in front on me) that she had not left any hair hanging over the sides of my hairline where it recedes and is turning gray. (I thought she would do this, since I had requested it initially.) Consequently, I do not have enough hair to cover those areas. This is my biggest disappointment. I wish she had left some of the hair on my forehead pushed back along my hair line and long enough to obscure those areas. The other disappointment I have is that the hair on the crown of my head is pushed up while I sleep, leaving me with a number of strands shooting straight up when I get out of bed. Consequently, I need to "correct" this part in the morning with water and a comb. However, throughout the day, some hair still sticks up. (I don't know enough about haircuts to say how this might have been avoided.) Toy did take a photo of the back of my hair at the end of the cut, and she sent it to my phone. The back of my hair would get 4 stars, as I thought she did a good job of cutting it. Unfortunately, the sides of my hair and the front do not match the photo as much as I would like. The initial reactions I've had to my haircut have included, "I like your haircut," "I love your hair," "You cut your hair," and "It shows more of the gray." I think the general cut suits me, but some of the details could have been better. Again, overall, I think the cut was adequately done and was worth what I paid for it. read more

She's also very reasonable lay priced! I high;y recommend for great value and results!
