Poor service and treatment of my pet - he was there for a week and they did not give him his prescribed medication daily like they were supposed to. It's a prescription med - not optional and very neglectful of them to miss it. Refunding the days they missed won't help his health. I would give zero stars if I could read more

Filthy inside and out with extra charges for them letting your dog go outside. Cages are only 4 by 6 and many dogs had no beds. After an initial tour they wouldn't let me go back inside to give my pup his blanket. I had to argue on the phone with the owner before she relented. They can take their policies and shove them. They have no concept of customer service or even the slightest hint that they actually care about animals. I was not going to burn this bridge because I will need a place to board my dog in the future. But they are so piss poor that I will never subject my sweet dog to that unhealthy environment again. We placed our two dogs in for a 5 night stay. I tried to speak to the staff about my concerns about one of my dogs a rescue who is scared of everything, unfortunately when I showed up they were on a two hour lunch break. I wrote a note for my fiancée to give as instructions when he dropped them off. Both these dogs stayed successfully three years ago this time however as soon as I stepped off the plane I got a message my dog needs to be picked up they won't keep him. i had nobody to get my dog and asked if they could keep him and they told me I had till 7 pm to get him out or they will call animal control. I ended up sending a stranger to my dog to get him in a panick as they were loading my dog in the car a girl came out with my golden who was not originally being evicted. My friend said my golden was laying in urine when they saw her anyway so they felt better taking her. unfortunately when my friends tried to get my dogs out of a crate at their home my rescue (already traumatized) flipped out got his foot stuck in crate and dangled from SUV broke all his meta tarsals , friends took him to hospital 7000.00 dollars later his leg was amputated. I hold preppy pets accountable for half of this bad situation as I thought I put my pets somewhere safe so I could vacation I didn't know there was a possibility they would kick him out. Worst mistake ever made! They also had the nerve to call me right after and ask for payment for one night! When we got home we went over to question about what happened as they told us our dog bit. Three kids stood there wide eyed saying he never bit anyone he was shaking in a corner and wouldn't go outside. They said they called a owner to help and they decided my dog must go. They used a pole with a hoop to try to catch my dog to force him out and he showed his teeth because he was scared. My vet is appalled by this and said they would have boarded him safely,do not end up like me. The price is right but the care is not they are untrained, underpaid kids that do not know how to handle dogs with severe separation anxiety. I will forever regret my decision that ruined my trip and gave me a three legged dog. Find a safer place for your pets. read more

This is the third time that I have taken my dog to Preppy Pet Warminster. The first two times were great, the staff was wonderful and my 2 y/o dog came home tired (which was the goal). Today I was told that my dog became "a little aggressive with some of the other dogs" and "got a few scratches on his face" that were "cleaned up." This dog has no aggressive bone in his body. Our dachshund has tested his patience many a time without eliciting a response from him. He has also been to another daycare in Falls Twp on multiple occasions and had ZERO encounters like this one. When I picked him up I assumed that he would just have some minor scratches but he appears to have puncture wounds above and below his right eye. I was also informed in a voicemail that he "doesn't need to go to a vet or anything" For the record, I am a Veterinary Technician and I am currently concerned that my dog may end up with an ulcer on his eye. Also, when I tuned in to the cameras this morning and had it up in the background while working he appeared to be paying more attention to the staff coming in and out of the room than the other dogs. My main concern here is that they were not supervising closely and this whole situation could have been avoided. I'm sad to say that I don't feel comfortable bringing him back to Preppy Pet Warminster since I do not think the dogs are being properly supervised. I have uploaded photos of his injuries. read more

Preppy Pet is our go-to place for daycare and boarding! Ed and his wife take the time to get to know each dog. When I walk in, it's like leaving my dog in the hands of a friend. We first started with leaving her there for daycare for the days that I had to work late. They were the only facility that I could find in the area that had outdoor daycare and didn't charge you by the hour. Boarding her there is the same as daycare, only they go into their kennels at night to sleep. Basically, my girl gets to play all day except for nap/meal times and bedtime. For a dog with high energy, this works great for us. My dog is a rescue who is sometimes timid. Prior to preppy pet, we used PetSmart pet hotel. When my dog didn't want to go inside, the PetSmart employees would drag her in on her leash. At Preppy Pet, Ed picks her up (all 35lbs!) and carries her in. That's the difference. Their rates are the most affordable I've seen by a long shot. They also have cameras so you can watch your pup play with the other dogs while you're gone! The only reason I wouldn't leave her there is if we had to pick up/drop off outside of their hours of operation. Some places let you pick up after hours. As this is a family run facility, it's understandable that they do not. You will not be disappointed by preppy pet. read more

I left my timid lapdog here a few times only for overnighters. I felt comfortable as the staff were all very friendly & seemed truly interested in my dog. Last time we were on our annual week long family vacation I had no option but to board her. I arrived home early enough to pick her up a day before schedule. Although they had sufficient notice, she was not bathed before I picked her up as I had opted for. She was filthy! Dirtier than I had ever seen her look even after going months without grooming. She smelled very bad of urine. :(. Makes me wonder how long between walks she was waiting. I understand tiny dogs can't hold their bladder very long & are prone to accidents when crated, but how long was it left "dirty" before she no longer laid in a dirty crate-? Also, my dog had developed kennel cough. :( She is properly vaccinated & has never had this before, even thru all of her grooming visits or vet visits. This is particularly worrisome beings I do not have her participate in "group play" because she is not used to being around other animals & I'm not sure how she would react. I will be looking into other alternatives before leaving her here again as a last resort. The 2 Stars is for the friendly accommodating staff & affordable prices. Tho I would prefer to pay more & have our pup receive better care. read more

I love my little doggy so much that I drive 30 minutes out of the way when I have to go to work to take her here. She gets to have all day play, and they have doggy cam. She is always so excited when she sees where we are going, but when I have to go to work I am gone for 3 to 8 days at a time. The kennel that I had before kept her in a cage for almost 24 hours out of the day and it broke my heart to leave her there. Preppy Pets staff are always friendly, they love CoCo, the only reason that I deleted one star is that there is an odor of urine when I come in the front door. And this has happened almost every time. I will mention this to them when I drop off my dog in two days and then wait to see what happens. Coco plays so much when she stays here that when I get her home she jumps on the couch and sleeps so hard that she snores!! read more

IF YOU LOVE YOUR DOG DO NOT TAKE HER HERE... My boyfriend and I just picked up my 11 year-old LasaPoo from a 2-day stay at this place. One of the workers returned her to me covered in urine. what's worse, I've had my dog long enough to know the urine I smelled was not completely her own; the stench was primarily from another dog. The stench on her coat was so strong we drove to an emergency grooming appointmet, with the windows down in chilly, 33-degree weather! Judging from the smell of this place and the condition my dog was in, it is apparent she was not walked enough. Also, I specifically asked that she be boarded away from other dogs because she's simply not comfortable and becomes very afraid and shy. I don't believe the workers adhered to this request as my dog hardly had any bark left; she was completely horse and stressed out. read more

Worst kennel. My 10 month old German Shepherd puppy was put in with large breed dogs despite the fact I asked her to be kept with medium dogs because she still a puppy. 5 days into her stay she was attacked when she was put back into the dog room that was for large adults. I flew home from vacation flew over there to pick her up took her to an emergency vet she had an infected ear bite for which a portion of our ear is now gone on the top, pink eye, and kennel cough. They only have teenagers working here which I doubt actually understand the responsibility of maintaining a safe environment for dogs. I demanded a full refund and I got a full refund. You will sign a waiver of liability that protects them in case anything happens to your dog. Be where your dog can be bitten attacked scratched I've even read reviews where someone's dog was not giving medication and actually died. You will pay for all day play for your dog and what that means is your dog is kept inside in a fenced room with other dogs and no toys. It's inhumane to keep 15 to 20 dogs in a small confined space from 7 in the morning till 7 at night with the exception of a few chances to go outside. Dogs pee all over the floor they poop all over the floor and the staff does not go in immediately and clean it up. This is the worst place to ever put your dog. My dog is aggressive when he is with people he doesn't know. We gave them simple instructions to 1. Don't touch his face or make any sudden movements near him. 2. Keep him in the same place as his older sister. They didn't listen to either of them. Because they didn't care to listen my dog nipped one of them(after our trip we found out that my dog actually didn't even bite anyone. So they lied to us and kicked my dogs out for no reason. They could have simply let him be and sit their until we got back)We we're in Florida when this happened. They called us and said that if we don't get our dog out by 7:00pm the next day they're taking him to a shelter. We asked what will happen to him after the shelter and they said "we can't speak for them" meaning he will most likely be put down. We signed a contract with you guys to watch our baby and keep him safe. I asked one of my friends to pick him up because we were literally in Florida. He doesn't know my friend that well but we had no other option. He got terrified when my friend was trying to take him home and he got his foot caught in the crate and broke it. Now he is currently in surgery getting his whole leg removed. This place needs to get shut down. I don't know if it's any other Preppy Pets but the Warminster one is awful. They also open at 1:00pm and close at 4:00pm on sundays? When do they watch the dogs? On other days you open at 7am and close at 7pm but on Saturdays you close at 6pm. AND you get a TWO HOUR lunch break. WHY DO YOU NEED THAT LONG OF A LUNCH BREAK. My other dog g that was their was covered in her own piss when we picked her up. Do better or shut down because you guys are ridiculous and I will be talking to you guys personally when I get home from my trip. The price was good however I would rather spend more money on a better facility then go through the experience my dogs had here. I picked my dogs up after boarding them there for the first time. They were there for a week. They came home with matted fur some of it with poop matted into it. They smelled of urine and feces. My dog does not look like he was getting his allergy medicine because his eyes were goopy. He had scratches and crescent shaped scabs over his back and a couple more scabs on the top of his head. Our other dog had poop matted on her face that I had to cut off. I've boarded them before at horsham vet and he was never returned to me in this condition. This is the second year we boarded our teacup chihuahua for almost 2 weeks. You need to understand that very few people want to hold him because he's not very pleasant ( he's fearful) as he is only 3 pounds. We talked to the staff last year about his "growling". They said don't worry, that's just the way the little ones are. We thought for sure we'd be called because he couldn't be handled. But to our amazement they had no problem. The first days there last year, he had diarrhea. They called us to keep us updated and asked permission to give him medicine. They updated us each day until he was feeling normal. When we dropped him off, Hope said "I've been waiting all day for you to come ". They all loved him so well. And handled him with no problems. Second to care, is the price. I will not bring my dog back here. I went to pick up my dog 2 weeks ago and was informed upon entering that he had some scratches on his body. I asked if he had gotten in a fight or of it was some rough play and the manager couldn't tell me. When my dog came out he had a deep scratch on his head scratches on his chest and his paw badly scratched between the pads. He cried every time I touched his paw to look at it. When I asked the manager on duty again what happened he couldn't give me a straight answer. When I asked what the person who was supposed to be supervising the dogs during the day saw his response was they either weren't there or failed to report it. Not exactly reassuring. This place also advertises web cams, but they never work. When I asked about the cameras I got a vague trailing off response from the person at the desk. I use this Preppy Pet location exclusively when I have to leave my dog for boarding. Used to use Holiday House, but this is so much closer, more reasonably priced, and my dog is happy to walk through the doors. My dog gets along with very few other dogs, and they manage this very well with private play time for her, and it's still a reasonable price even with that add on. When I bring my dog home, she sleeps for about a day, so I know she's getting exercise and mental stimulation from being around other dogs, which is rare for her. I always opt for a bath and nail trim, and my dog comes back feeling very soft and she smells good. Wish that would last longer since she immediately rolls around trying to get the fresh smell off. :) read more

Our dogs love it here and they always run to go in the door when we pull up, which is a pretty good sign of how they care for them if you ask me :). Prices are reasonable and I recently had my dog groomed here by one of the workers who said before I came in that she wasn't the regular groomer and they were hiring for that position and asked me if I still was ok since she wasn't that experienced and I said yes, she did a better job than the people I have paid almost double and was so careful and considerate. All I really needed to know about this daycare was my dog's reaction. He was scared (probably worried he was going to the vet) the first time I took him, but every time since he acts like a kid who is on his way to Disneyland. Every morning he's watching for the telltale sign of me filling a baggy of dog food before he starts barking non-stop and jumping around, he rushes to the car and looks back to me impatiently, he yells at me for stopping at red lights along the way, tries to jump into my lap while I'm parking to get out of the car first, and once he's inside, I'm an afterthought. The staff is superb. The owners truly love working with dogs, and it shows. The entire staff is very responsive and able to answer questions about how my dog is socializing with other dogs, etc, and they have webcams if you want to check in any time. The rates are very reasonable and having the option to board him at a place where he's going to spend most of the day running around with other dogs makes planning vacations easy. My dog certainly has a significantly higher quality of life since he's starting going to Preppy Pet, and I wouldn't trade that for just about anything. read more

No one in my family wants to watch my golfin cockatoo and we travel once or twice a year for one or two weeks so it was really a worry until I found Preppy Pet. We did an overnight prior to the vacation so he had a brief time to get used to the setting and kind of got the idea we would be back. While boarding pets is never ideal, I felt like the staff really did their best to keep Mango happy. He had a small private room and since he was not able to be out of his cage, the staff would play music and dance with him for extra attention. He loves being petted and they would pet him through the bars. They made sure he had his toys so he was not bored and they gave him his favorite foods. I was assured that his water was changed often through the day which is very important for birds. He had no ill effects after a two week stay. The 7 to 7 closing/opening time was ideal as he is covered around 7 and wakes at 7. I just booked a second 15 day stay. read more

I will NEVER, EVER TAKE MY DOG HERE AGAIN !. I took my happy playful Golden retreiver here for daycare to have a fun time. Well she did not, when I went home I went online and checked things out because they had cameras there. They kept them inside for most of the time, except to let them go to the bathroom, not one toy for them to play with., no supervision with the dogs, they were just put in a large caged room for them to pretty much fend for themselves it seemed. When I was watching them online it seemed like 2 big black dogs were picking on 1 smaller dog and not once did anyone come in to stop them. At that point I went right away to pick up my dog. That night I noticed a bite mark in her ear, I was not notified of anything that happened,, or they never even noticed when it did happened, but I do know, it was not there when I took her there in the morning. If you love your dog like I love mine, you may want to think twice about brinigng them here .....never again !! read more

DO NOT take your beloved animals here!!! They didn't know who my dog was so they paraded multiple dogs out asking if one was mine. When I asked to be given a tour I was denied because there were too many animals coming in and out and when I asked before I picked him up I was only shown the boarding area not the doggy daycare. He was filthy and had slobber all over his face. My dog isn't a slobberer and has been in a daycare before. He has never come home in such filth. It's sad that the staff didn't know who my dog was or even seemed to care. I noticed some dog had bit his ear and was bleeding. I called the office and they said there was no note. They didn't tell me how his day was or even if he ate let alone that he was hurt! I will never let him go back! read more

I will never take my dogs here again! First of all I was charge for picking up my dogs after 12pm on a Sunday but the kennel doesn't open until 1pm for pick up! That is ridicules, how can you charge someone a quarter of a day for not picking up after 12pm when you don't open your doors until 1pm. Oh by the way Our dogs were covered in urine and feces. Don't they clean their kennels at all! My puppy's paws are red and sore from this and my other dog came out from the back with urine soaked paws he left paw prints as we left. Gross! NEVER AGAIN! We've used Preppy Pet multiple times now for our two dogs. They are extremely accommodating for our last minute bookings, and their prices are very competitive as well. The owners are very nice, and you can tell the staff really cares for their "guests" when they interact with them. One of our pups is somewhat of a special case rescue dog, who doesn't like most men. I was amazed at how Roscoe warmed right up to their staff within seconds. It's always good to know your family members are in great hands when they're away. read more

On 7/20/17, I received a phone call from them that my 6 pd tea cup Yorkie was not breathing and was rushed to the vet. We were told so many stories. Bottom line is my dog suffered a heat stroke from being out to long during a heat wave. Her body temp. was 105.8. So far I have paid $2600.00 for vet bills. Bottom line, Preppy Pet feels they are not responsible. I go away on vacation and because of their NEGLECT my dog almost died and I am out 2600.00. I cannot believe the negative reviews on here! We have been taking our elderly girl here for several years. She is always treated very well and she is as happy as can be when she arrives. They know my dog by name. I got a full tour of the entire facility (make sure you don't come during pick up and drop off so that they are able to accommodate you for a tour) Reviews on here make it seem like they are doing something evil to your dog while you are away! That's ludicrous. There is a Preppy Cam where you can log in and see a live video feed of your dog! If you haven't sprung the couple extra dollars for all day play, then you are missing out! Some people want to save a couple dollars and leave their dog in the kennel the whole time. The beauty of Preppy Pet is that your dog can have all day, supervised play, both indoor and outdoor. This is so wonderful for us and for our Lily! We love Preppy Pet and they are the ONLY place I trust to take care of my baby while I am away. read more

Do not take your pet here! I received a horrible attitude from the incompetent receptionist on the phone when making an appt for my cat to be groomed. I should have just hung up the phone and called another groomer...unfortunately, since its difficult to find a place that does cat grooming, most only do dogs, I decided to take my cat anyway. I told the receptionist my long haired cat had some mats by his tail that may need to be shaved since I was unable to brush them out and that he needed a bath. When I picked my cat up after he was done, he was completely shaved!!! She said I "should have specified that I didn't want him shaved." Um, I did! I never said shave him bald! Not only did she not listen to my instructions, but she was incredibly rude, never apologized for her mistake, and still charged me full price. Not to mention my cat is walking funny so who know what else they did to him. I will never return to this place again. Worst $80 I ever spent! read more

Here is what happened: I picked up my 3 little dogs last night from here...as a result, one of my dogs is in the HOSPITALl and the other two are very ill....SEVERE DEHYDRATON in my 15 year old Silky who also has BLEEDING paws and tail...all three are vomiting and with severe diarrhea and the other two also dehydrated but not as bad as the oldest....my youngest who loves everyone and loves attention is now COWERING IN THE CORNER and if I try to pet her she shuns away...could she have been hit? The bleeding tail and hiney on my oldest is from not having been cleaned enough with the diarrhea....I paid for an "exit bath"....I think the only thing that was done was they were sprayed with some perfume.....I have boarded my pets at many other place but we decided to try Preppy Pets as their web page boasts a loving, clean and caring place...I paid $500 for the RETURN OF SICK DOGS who are now not responding to anything and one in the hospital and a "bath" that was a farce...my dogs stink to high Heaven and I will never ever board there again.....and God Forbid if my oldest passes away..her breathing is labored and she may have pneumonia.BEWARE PEOPLE!! Took my Shih-Tzu for regular grooming. I should have taken a hint from the rep I spoke with when making the appointment. I was told the old groomer left and the new groomer was not experienced in styling the dog's face. I stupidly went ahead and took my dog. An hour after dropping her off I got a call from the groomer stating my dog had a cut under her front left arm. I told the groomer if she had a cut under her arm I would have noticed it. When I hug up the phone I started to panic but calmed myself by hoping it's not too bad. When I picked up my dog, her hair was badly chopped, not cut, but chopped and had a 1" hole under her arm. Freshly made by a shaver or some cutting instrument. The groomer sat behind the counter trying to explain to me the dog came in with the cut under her arm. She asked "was she playing with other dogs". I looked at her and responded "NO" trying not to get upset. I paid $47.00 for the worst grooming experience. If you love your pet, don't take them to Preppy Pet!!! read more

My dog gets so excited that he literally almost pees himself every time we tell him were going "bye-bye" (day care). He absolutely loves it there and we haven't had ANY complaints..... BUT we had a huge miscommunication issue. The girl at the front desk, her name is Kristin, told my sister that we needed to pick up my dog by 6:30. She calls me at 6 on the dot saying, "hi just to let you know we close right at 6." I said, "oh okay I thought it was 630, let me call my brother and see if he can pick him up. I'll call you back." I call Kristin back and I tell her that my brother will be there less than 20 minutes. Kristin says, "we won't be here by then." I said okay does that mean he needs to stay? And she says, yes. I said okay but he needs to eat dinner. And she says, "we'll give him some of our food, I guess." I COULDN'T BELIEVE HOW RUDE SHE WAS! She gave me no reassurance. She didn't say anything like it's okay, things happen, don't worry about it, he's fine here. NOTHING. I understand rules are rules, but I was born into the customer service industry and customer service is EVERYTHING when you own a business. There is No need to have such an attitude on the phone. I gave them 3 stars because he loves it there..... But still so disappointed. read more
