It hasn't changed a bit in the last year. The course is nice but in 95° temperature. There was no water on the course except for the toilet. The employee said they were aware of that and that we could buy water. After nine holes, we noticed six golf carts behind us. We asked them if some of them wanted to play through and they said no that there was actually 12 people in their group. While on hole number 10 we were approached and asked if we would let four of them play through in between each one of our players in our group of four, how does this happen? They must've gotten three tee times together and then all moved up together since part of them had their own carts someone must've thought it was proper. When we complained about no refreshments on the course, we were told that they only had refreshments on the weekends, this was a holiday weekend. One of our players owns a house. Next to the golf course and has played there frequently on weekends and has never seen a refreshment cart in the last four years. You would think for $100 per person to play that somewhere on the course they could have water containers, ball cleaners, and provide a friendly atmosphere. The employee I spoke with actually thought it was funny when I said the only water on the course available to players was in the toilet. Rumor has it they're trying to sell the course that's why they're trying to maintain it in a quality condition. Maybe the next owner will care about the players and the people that spend money there. Last, but not least they make no allowances for handicap golfers. As a golfer with breathing/walking difficulties they make no allowance and won't allow carts closer than 35 yards to the greens. The Geo fencing beeper in the cart gets really annoying to everyone. I paid for 18 holes and was only able to complete 10 because of the heat, lack of cold water and their requirements. While the one employee liked my handicap flag attached to the cart. It's acceptable by all other golf courses I've played on. He said "it doesn't make any difference". read more

Played here Saturday, April 4th. Course in great condition, greens were really good but very, very fast. Some holes even a tap and the ball will sail 3ft past the cup. Never go past the cup, ball will sail on the green. Staff is always super friendly as are the golfers on the course. Was under 4hr round at 1:12pm tee time. I'm a local and really enjoy playing here. read more

We got our tee time from teeoff.com that was really cheap. This is usually how it motivate us to try out new courses. Golf course- Nice golf cart. The green condition is not that bad, a little better or a notch above Antelope greens. But the fairway needs work, serious works. I was busy golfing and did not bother to take pictures. Plus, I might not have enough films to cover all the damaged fairways. Jokingly. Seriously, giant dirt patch and giant bald spots everywhere. if you want to play at an expensive no extras golf course this is the place to go. $100 for 18 holes. The course is maintained but even when the temperature is 95° there's no water jugs on the course. The only water is in the course toilet and the drinking fountain doesn't work. You can buy water or pay $2.00 for a cup of ice at the club house. No drink cart on the course. So you ask them why not.......?? There's only a cart on weekends.......It was a holiday weekend. Why no water on the course? ....... There's not enough people playing, was one response. There were back to back groups including a group of 12.... 3 foursomes that were following us and they wanted to play through "4 at a time between each 1 of our 4" Most of them had their own carts. We were not holding them up, but to look back and see 6 carts is a little stressful. How does that work? Do you get 3 tee times then all tee off at once, using the first tee time? The geofencing pad in the cart starts beeping before you get to restricted areas......but you can shut it off by turning the cart off. Be careful when parking the cart, if on a slant the brakes may not hold. The employees are rude!! new ownership spent a lot to get new carts and hire staff which was amazing. Problem is they forgot to maintain course. Fairways are dirt, and every bunker has rocks in them. not just a few rocks, there is more rocks than sand. I live on course, canceled my membership and will be going to antelope from now on. I almost forgot their prices went up. if I want to play a bad course might as well go across the street to Quailwood for 1/10 the price. Really a shame. read more

Been playing here 30 years and this was by far the worst round. Lots of water soaked areas in the fairways apparently due to a sprinkler malfunction, grass clippings covering the fairways. Paid $90 each to play this. There a too many other really nice courses for a reasonable fee to ever play here again. Sad! read more

I golfed here a couple weeks ago the course is not in great shape lota dead area just off the fairways and dead spots on many fairways. They charged me $97 on a Thurs. I called a few days a go to play again and now they are charging $105 a round WOW. I played at Wigwam in Phoenix that was in pretty good shape with free range balls for $44. Most of the courses in Phoenix are around $50 so why would anyone go to Prescott to play anymore. read more

I had the pleasure of playing here over the long July 4th weekend and I enjoyed every minute of it. The course was in excellent shape and we played at a fairly fast pace--we finished our rounds in about three-and-a-half hours. In addition to the course, the staff at the pro shop, restaurant and turn shack were friendly and courteous. I loved it here and if I lived in the area, I would apply for membership. This was my first time golfing here and Ken decided to tell us we needed to speed up which every time we went to tee off we had to wait for the group in front of us. Didn't say anything to the group and the group behind us said the lady behind him was complaining. Spoke to the group in front of us and they said the same they are always waiting for group in front of them. I would give ZERO if possible. Staff was unorganized and unattentive. Greens workers on the course at 11 am? WTF? Grounds were covered in clippings, Lawnmower operator ran over my ball. Sand traps filled with H2O. Rates have doubled in last 2 yrs because "were improving the course". I call BS. Think new owners should go back to work at Wal Mart and give up PGA aspirations. read more

The course has just changed managers. Troon now runs it. There were no restaurant open for breakfast. The 19 th hole did not accept credit cards. The staff was friendly. Course was in decent shape but greens are very slow and there is a lot of water on the course due to excessive watering. I guess they are leaving the greens furry and using so much water due to the heat. Bunkers are so so, some are fairly decent and others need a lot of work. Employees need to be more polite while working on the course. A blond woman who was servicing the vending machines decided to have a long and loud conversation with a resident while my group was trying to hit their shots. She could have stopped for a short time until we were done. Course is in a little better shape than antelope hills. Played again on 8-25-19, not much has changed since the last entry. Course was wet, grass was long, greens are slow. Bunkers need work, thin sand in spots, clubs bounce off the surface. They took out the vending machines out on the course. read more

Booked online thru thier website Daily Deals. No mention online that greens were recently aerated. Aeration cores left on most of the greens. Piles of sand also left on the greens. While we are waiting for our 1pm tee time Bruce comes out of the proshop about 12:35 WARNS US NOT TO TEE OFF EARLY. First of all we didnt ask to go early Secondly we were not anywhere near the first tee. Thridly our full group wasnt all here yet. Finally our tee time was 1pm and there was no one booked from 12:20 to 1pm...ABSOLUTLY NO ONE! Outside snack bar not open and no beverages sold on course. We have played here before and get the feeling that booking thier DAILY DEAL TIME makes us second class golfers. read more

Worse customer service by club house personnel. We had a large group drive up from Phoenix to play, which tournament was scheduled months in advance. After changing the method of payments which confused and frustrated the players and organizer, the club pro threaten to cancel the tournament while people are arriving from out of town and others had left their hotels in Prescott to play. The pro also overcharged each player; $75 versus the lower regular rate. read more

Don't bother calling in a tee time, the people who run the list don't write anything down and let members cut in line at any time. It is a very scenic course, so if you can handle bad customer service and rude members, go for it. read more

Course is very well laid out and playable. Course conditions very reasonable for April. The green fees were reasonable, far better than Phoenix courses in the winter, many of which are in comparable condition. I've played it twice now. I would give the above aspects 4/5 stars Why only three stars? I've played twice now, both times on Weekdays in the afternoon. The first time I had to quit after three plus hours despite playing as a single. Today played as a duo that could have played in 3 hours but instead four+ hour round. Turns out it was the weekly men's skins game starting at noon. Group of five ahead of us and they didn't care how long they took. Pro shop seemed to be surprised that anyone would even worry about speed of play. Hard to enjoy yourself when you are waiting on every shot, and group behind watches you tee off every hole. This pace of play is typical in Phoenix in winter but Monday afternoon in April in Prescott is not what I drove 90 miles for. Bottom line, it is a good course, but the slow play makes me less inclined to return than I would otherwise. read more

It's been 3 months since my first post of conditions at PGC. I've been back 4 times since then and the course has continued to improve on each visit. Greens putted true, tee boxes were in great shape and fairways had few if any dry areas. Played a round in 3.5 hrs. Great pace of play and course conditions. great course, just some workers that are very impolite. Got cussed out by bruce and super intendant(nick I think). I understand that they are just doing their jobs but they need to ask for things respectfully. UPDATE: WE REC'D AN APOLOGY & REFUND. Bullied & Ignored We paid for 4 people ($150.) & told the man only 2 players because our son was a beginner & needed more time. We made it to the sand pit (1st hole) & the same man was cross armed staring. My husband asked what was up? He said we were taking too long & needed to keep up with the players in front. Duh! We know the rules. We reminded him we have a beginner & that we paid for a little bit of extra time. He responded " I don't care if you paid for 8 people!" The 2 men behind us were already hitting balls into us but he showed no concern about that! We felt bullied by this guy so my husband said ok then, we'll leave & get a refund. He said fine, I'll talk to them up there. Inside the office we were told by Brian there are no refunds. We told him we made it 3/4 through the 1st hole before we were harassed & had only been playing for a few min. The next morning I emailed Jeff & Jess, the owners, requesting a refund & fully explaining how upset we all were with the situation. It has been more than 7 days & I havent heard their reply or received the refund. I would NEVER recommend this course. I used to live in the PCC for quite a few years & know its history. Being designed in 1971 doesnt make you so fancy that you cant treat people with respect. read more

From check in, until we finished the round.....no attempt made by staff to maintain anything like a normal course. When we checked in, we were told the tee times were all full which is fine. We went out to putt while waiting for our tee time. A few times I notice no one walked up to the first tee and there was no starter or staff around to direct any of the groups. People about every 10 minutes walking around asking others what time their tee time was to try to figure out who was next. Nearly 15 minutes went by and no one went to tee off. Then 3 guys walked to another group and said there 4th was not there yet so asked another group to trade tee times. Another few groups started every 10 minutes and then another break while no one went to the tee box. I asked a group their time and they then went to the box as they were next up. The 5 men tee'd off and we asked a staff member if groups of 5 were allowed and he said, sure...sometimes. We asked if there was a marshall on the course and he said no and mentioned that with the new owner they were considering it but hadn't instituted this yet. We tee'd off about 10 minutes after our tee time. The pace was terribly slow with 3 or 4 groups waiting on multiple holes. Groups in front of us were driving all over the course, including right next to the green. The course was in Ok shape but between the price, lack of golf etiquette and no attempt by the staff to do anything about these issues ensured that we will never go back. I am not sure if this is the culture of Dewey, AZ but if they want to make the course respectable, a lot of work will need to be done by the new owners read more

Course is decent. Very wet conditions everywhere. Friendly staff other than the starter who had a foursome on the tee box when we pulled up. Thinking we had time to get a couple of drinks before we started the round we ducked into the pro-shop. When we came back out he informed us they were waiting on us and we needed to move it along. When I said I thought they were teeing off he said no they were just messing around. Following our tee shots he informed us we should pick up our balls and proceed to the second hole. We accommodated this request and proceeded to complete our round in 3.5 hours. Other than the starter everyone else was friendly and very professional. I'm a bogey golf and normally shoot in the high eighties low nineties. But not on this course. The fairways are nicely groomed and the green are fast but fair. The problem I have with this course. Is the rough is unplayable. If you were a walker and after teeing off. You walked to the proximity of where you thought your ball was. If you were in the rough. You would probably not find your ball. The rough throughout the course from the edge of the fairway. Is probably 3 to 4"thick. There is no primary cut. Or even a second cut. Just off the fairway and out is just a mass of a golf course. From tall rough too rotten fruit trees. That line the fairways. And the rough around the greens was some of the gnarliest grass I have ever seen on a golf course. Unless you're talking about one of the US opens at Pebble Beach or Pinehurst. The traps are so hard pan. We found most of the ball washes didn't have water in them. If you need Wi-Fi for your rangefinder. Don't expect it to work that day. So if you plan on playing this course bring plenty of balls. And plan on losing most of them if you are in the rough. read more

True links style golf in AZ, very playable, the course is in great shape, I'll be back. Might be too easy for low handicap players used to playing some of the difficult desert courses around PHX, but it's ideal for a relaxing day of golf without losing 2 sleeves of balls. I haven't played this course for several months. The improvement is amazing. The fairways were nicely mowed and lush. The greens rolled fairly fast and true which was a real treat compared to Antelope Hills. The practice range has been remodeled very nicely. The new owners seem committed to improving this course and I commend them for their progress. I am sure it will continue to improve. read more

The Prescott Golf and Country Club was a Great experience. I love the greens. Beautiful views. Great Play. Myself and Friends had a great time here. Beverage cart comes around a couple of times. Great Prices on Beer and Play. We had lunch at the restaurant after our game. Its Called JJ's Bar and Grille. Amazing food. New menu. From scratch food. Meats are smoked. Great selection of items on the menu. They had a specials board. I could smell the smoker from the course. It made me so hungry. This truly is a hidden gem.
