The staff is always friendly and helpful, the equipment is in good condition, and it is such a great value and WAY easier then schlepping our gear, unloading, and carry it all to the put-in. It was a beautiful day in Prescott and we were able to rent kayaks without making an early reservation. We were able to sign the waiver conveniently with a tablet. The staff was attentive and got us situated with our life jackets and into our kayak. The lake is huge and you'll see a lot of wildlife. Overall, expect to take about two hours. read more

We have rented from Prescott Outdoors at Lynx Lake twice now. They are kind, helpful, casual, and made the process to rent so smooth and quick. We rented online ahead once, the second time we just showed up to see what they had. Both ways worked great. Cody was the main person helping us both times and he was helpful, kind, and professional. The Lynx marina is small, right on the walking trail. This makes it very convenient and chill. I did want to point out that this location is small, just as a heads up so you know what to expect. Renting a tandem kayak with Prescott Outdoors at Watson lake was a great experience. Filling out the rental form online ahead of time made for a seamless pickup, the owner was even accommodating when we called ahead and wanted to switch to an earlier date. The signage makes them easy to find and their team helps you with getting set up in the water. The kayak, paddles, and life jackets were provided all were acceptable rental quality. My one critique is that it would be great if the paddles had drip rings, it's a cheap part and easy fix to stop renters from getting water in the kayak and all over themselves. Keep in mind they are strict about return times because they quickly turn the rentals around for the next group of guests so it's understandable. I just saw on their site that pets are allowed for a fee and the fee is waived on Tuesday/Thursday so I'm excited to return with a group that includes pets. Overall, highly reccomend Prescott Outdoors. read more

Regardless of the level of water that was in Lynx Lake, Matt and Ari made sure to let us know beforehand that the lake was still functional for kayaking. We had a group of 10 people go out and they all had a blast. Matt was knowledgeable and did the best he could to ensure we have a fun time. Very easy to sign up online and make reservations, sign waivers, and pick your boats or paddle boards. This lake is gorgeous to get out on and have fun for a couple hours. Kayak rental at the Watson lake. Online reservation is available and I recommend reserving one especially if you want to rent one on weekend during a peak hour. Upon arrival, friendly staff took care of prepping for my rental and I was on the water shortly after my arrival at the lake. Quality of kayak was very good. I rented at other places in the past and I noticed what they have here was pretty good. Watson lake is not that big. 2 hours is plenty to explore the area. Since motor boats are not at the lake, it was very peaceful to kayak at the Watson lake. read more

We weren't even planning on staying long but discovered they had moonlight kayaking after speaking with the owner-who was extremely down to earth and nice. We asked if there was open reservations and luckily, there was! They quickly got us in a tandem kayak and we explored Watson lake as the sun set. Amazing Full Moon arising experience. We were planning on doing a day trip and then saw the night paddle option. It was magical. Gliding across the lake while the sunset happened and then the grand finale of the full moon rising over the rocks. .. spectacular. I would still do this trip again without the full moon. You have an opportunity to experience nature settling into the evening. The great surprise was s'mores when you were done. Really nice touch. Awesome experience! This was my first time kayaking and I took my 5 year old with. I had originally thought a canoe would be better for us, but the host (I didn't catch her name but she was super sweet!) explained a kayak would be better because of its lower profile. Gusts of winds that day. Signed a waiver, grabbed our vests and received a quick tutorial from John! The views were spectacular. The granite Dells are such a unique site. They rent by the hour, and we could have easily ventured around for two but only did one. Hours are Wednesday to Sunday 8-3. So plan accordingly. They take reservations or walk-ups. Two locations to serve. Watson Lake and Goldwater lake. We did Watson. Don't really need water shoes, hop in and they'll shove you off. Wear a hat/sunscreen. Pack water or snacks in a small backpack If you're out for a while. They do sell refreshments at check in. And watch your technique! I got a small blister on my thumb. I will definitely return next time I'm in Prescott! read more

I visited Watson Lake with some friends and we had the opportunity to rent some kayaks from this company. It was a seamless process that included filling out a form, talking to the operators a bit, and then being helped into the water - life vests are also included. Prices are reasonable and run by the hour or on a daily rate. For kayaking they were $15 for the first hour and $10 for each one thereafter. You have the choice of using a solo kayak or tandem one. My friends and I had a wonderful time out on the lake thanks to the company! read more

My family and I loved our kayaking adventure at Goldwater Lake. Upon arriving we were met by Matt and his super friendly and helpful staff. This made my young children comfortable about getting on the water. Matt and his team were very hands on and made sure my 3 kids were safe and excited to paddle out. A safety brief was all my kids needed to get their confidence up. The day was beautiful, so many fantastic photo opportunities and just a really cool and relaxing day at the lake. This was a great way to get the kids active and appreciate the beautiful scenery. We had so much fun and liked the staff so much we we decided to get some kayaks at one of their other locations at Watson Lake. If you ever get a chance to be in Prescott, check out the surrounding lakes they are stunningly beautiful...and if you are lucky enough to run into Matt and his team, you will be in good hands. We drove up from Phoenix to get away from the city and the heat. Got here and realized that I had forgot the seat backs for my kayak. I went to the renal tents and asked if I could rent a couple of seat backs. They didn't even hesitate and showed me two that worked perfectly! Then they gave us a couple of ideas of where to go on the lake that would be nice, quiet and amazing scenery. They were all very nice, friendly and so willing to help! This place is amazing, a great place that is not to far from the valley and a great place to escape too. I will definitely be back for another relaxing day in the near future! read more

I took my teenage kids and my grandson up to Willow Lake for the Fire Works show on July 1st 2023. We had the most amazing time. Everyone we dealt with from checking in, to getting life jackets, to learning and loading onto the boats were very pleasant, informative and professional. I highly recommend using them, and we will be back for the full moon night paddle at some point. The boats had lanterns on them which was super cool, but the moonlight lit the place up pretty good. Only wish they were closer to where I live because I would use them more often. Great crew of people, great kayaks, canoes, and equipment. My husband and I rented a canoe on a Saturday. I reserved a canoe for 1 hr online without an issues. When we got there the staff was very nice and helpful. They were able to let us add another hour on our rental. The water is really green and smells bad in a few areas, but overall we enjoyed 2 hrs on Watson Lake. Wow! What an excellent consumer service!!! We were stranded in the middle of the lake on our paddle boards and struggled to get to the shore due to crazy winds. Matthew (the owner) and his crew asked us if we needed help; they came to rescue us on their motorboat and got us safely to shore and to our car. They were so incredibly helpful and generous and we were not even their customers! (We brought our own paddles boards). Thank you so much!!! Goldwater Lake is a beautiful place to kayak with great recreation areas, and several places to sit around the lake. It is close to the city but far enough away to feel like a much needed respite. What a beautiful gem and a great day trip.
