Ordered wings for my daughter to enjoy. When she bit into one, they were cold. When I told one of the servers, his response was "what do you want me to do about it", very unexpected and unprofessional. Had to ask him to send a new plate out for us. Not what I would expect from the Mission Inn. The second photo, shows the replacement dish.

    Empanadas and tajin fries

We decided to go here for drinks and appetizers before going to see all the lights and decor at The Mission Inn. This restaurant honors 10 US presidents who have stayed at or visited the Mission Inn. There are photos of the presidents all over the walls. We ordered a drink from their holiday menu called Snowed In which was made with tequila and coconut. It had a sugar rim. This drink was pretty and super good. We also ordered the George W. Bush's old fashioned from their main menu and this was really good too! For appetizers we ordered empanadas and Tajin fries. I have a small obsession with fries so we tend to get fries to try. The empanadas were super good. Tasty and their mini sizes were perfect. The fries were tasty and came out crispy and hot but I felt it needed more tajin seasoning. They tasted like regular fries. This is a good spot to stop for drinks and even food. It's neat with all its decor. I will go here again when I do visit the Mission Inn.

    $24 margaritas!

Limited mexican food menu but what we did order was delicious! We opted for the cadillac margarita ($24) to drink and it was so good and smooth! To eat we shared the chicken taquitos, chicken tortilla soup and chips and guac. Everything was expensive, but what did you expect eating inside the hotel? We did have a $50 credit from the hotel which was nice. The soup was very good and flavorful. Good amount of guac for the chips. Service was friendly! Great people watching if you sit in the area that faces the hotel lobby.

This is my second time being here where the wait time to be greeted was ridiculously long. I was not at the bar top, but at a table. My food was good, but my drink sat empty for over 25 minutes. There is no service flow. When the waitress did have contact with me, she was very friendly, but every time she came out, she handled one table at a time, never scanning her other tables or being mindful of what had arrived and what may be needed. I was so thirsty I literally chewed all of my ice from my empty drink. It's a beautiful place, sad it's not service minded.

The drinks were so good, I think they only use top shelf liquor, I ordered my favorite drink a Hennessy Sidecar, and they nailed it, it was perfection! We ordered chips and salsa and nachos, delicious! I know it sounds like basic food, but they don't do basic. The chips were freshly fried, the salsa was fresh made and delicious not too spicy, and the nachos were layered with delicious fresh made ingredients, the cheese sauce OMG, even the guacamole was delicious. Money well spent. The lounge itself is beautiful, very masculine, dark and relaxing, the service was great, and the drinks and food were excellent!

    Classic Margarita on the rocks.

Good classic margarita with a cute holiday touch. Service was good, but there's really no vibe in the lower bar area. The center tables give it more of a dining room atmosphere instead of a lounge.

Tent menu! Great spot for a classic Old Fashion!

Our annual holiday dinner always includes a pregame cocktail at the very upscale and distinguished presidential lounge!! Service is always great and the mood and view very sophisticated and elevated! We've enjoyed so many drinks here over the years!! Always a fun place to stop in before and or after dinner!

This is the uncleaned table that I asked a rude waitress to clean! She never came to service us or clean the table!!

We came to the Mission Inn to see the Christmas lights on the Friday after Thanksgiving and decided to stop in for some drinks. We sat at the bar and the Bartendar immediately took our drink order, she was super nice and attentive. But then we decided to move to a table and found a vacant one but it needed to be cleaned and empties removed. I asked a waitress if she could get our table cleaned and take our appetizer order and rudely told us that this was a self serve area and walked away. She did help other tables but never came over to see if we needed anything! Worst customer service!!! I just cleaned the table myself and moved the empty beer bottles and used glasses to another table. However other waitresses showed up and were amazing, polite, and incredibly attentive! They salvaged our evening, which allowed us to enjoy the rest of the night! The lounge's ambiance is festive this time of the year with tables inside the lounge, a bar area with bar stools, and tables outside in the hotel lobby. The decor is antique style with historical photos on the walls. I ordered a Moscow Mule and it was good. We also ordered appetizers such as chips, guacamole, and flautas. The food wasn't bad for a bar! This would have been a 3 or 4 star review if it wasn't for the horrible customer service we received from the one waitress!!

The Presidential Lounge, off the lobby at the Mission Inn has an interesting history. It was originally the Presidential Suite, created for a visit by Teddy Roosevelt, I believe. At the time, Riverside was fabulously wealthy. Seedless oranges had been stolen from Brazil and were being grown here generating incredible profits. Riverside was a "must stop" on the campaign trail. The lounge today serves a nice selection of mixed drinks, wine and beer. Food is available from the hotel's attached La Compana Mexican restaurant. Staff are friendly and helpful and the ambiance is casual.

Presidential Lounge in Mission Inn Hotel and Spa is a perfect spot for any occasion. We came here with our family for Saturday evening drink and good atmosphere. The lounge has very nice charming character and style. A live piano music made the visit even better. The selection of various drinks is really good. You can order beers, cocktails, and wines. I am more of a red wine drinker and would definitely recommend to try their selection. Also, sangria with dash of brandy was very enjoyable and refreshing! We have visited this hotel before and this visit most certainly won't be the last one.

Ask the Community - Presidential Lounge

Would you recommend this place after work for happy hour?

It’s a beautiful place to go for drinks but there is no happy hour discounts.

If I want to go with a couple friends or family do I gotta make a reservation at the mission inn or just walk into the lounge and start grubbing?

Just walk in, it's a public place. From the front door, the bar is to the right.

Can under 21 come to the lounge or is it strictly a bar?

Only on the bottom part where there are sit down chairs , children are not allowed in the areas where the bar is located

We're having a small elopement dinner after our wedding. Our party of 15 will be going to the Presidential Lounge at approximately 7:30 on Sunday October 7. Will seating be a problem or is a reservation recommended?

I know the presidential doesn't do reservations cause it's a bar it I would try and get there early and get a seat

Beautiful decor, upscale vibes, moody lighting, and every corner feels intentionally designed. It's definitely a place that looks like it's about to deliver an incredible dining experience. Unfortunately, the food just didn't match the atmosphere. The crab cakes were decent, about a 6/10. You get two larger cakes, but they were a little bland on their own. The jalapeño aioli carried most of the flavor, but even as someone who loves spice, it leaned overly spicy. The wedge salad was surprisingly disappointing. The lettuce wasn't very crisp, and they added ham on top of the bacon, which felt unnecessary and honestly gave the dish a cheaper feel. We ended up removing the ham altogether. The fish tacos had nicely cooked fish, but again, lacked seasoning. They also came with more jalapeño aioli, and the portions felt awkward. The fish pieces were huge compared to the tiny tortillas, so eating them turned into a full taco explosion situation. The biggest letdown was the chimichurri sea bass. For a $52 entrée, we expected much better. The fish came out completely overcooked and dense like a brick, which was extra disappointing because the chimichurri sauce and mashed potatoes were actually delicious. On the bright side, the drinks were fantastic. Refreshing, flavorful, and probably the highlight of the meal. Service at the bar was also great across the board. Everyone was attentive, friendly, and welcoming throughout the night. This place truly has so much potential because the ambiance and service are already there. We really wanted to love the food as much as we loved the vibe, but unfortunately it just didn't wow us this time around.

The ambiance is well created with the dim lights, lit bar, and sounds of ice being shaken. My fiancé and I were seated right at the middle of the bar upon opening, and our bartender named Chris (?) was extremely welcoming with a sense of humor. He gave us an ample of amount of time to review the menus. We first got an IPA and the Love me Knot. For food, we ordered some Cajun fries and the party wings with red chimichurri sauce. The wings were fantastic! The fries were very crunchy, and I wish they were a tad bit softer. For our next round of drinks, we got the Old Fashioned and the Bee's Knees. The drinks were right on par. We left after a few hours and found ourselves quite satisfied. It was a fun experience and the monthly change of words above the liquor wall is always a conversation starter.
