The service was amazing and fast. Called in to reserve for two and the gal that answered was kind and helpful. The ambiance is really cool especially the sign that reads " In God we trust" . We've visited a handful of times now over the last year (once during their soft opening) and it's all been consistently ok. I had high hopes for the food but it hasn't really improved. The drinks and vibe though are the real reason I'll visit again. Love me a country bar close to home, and the decor is top tier. The staff is nice and friendly, and we've been there when it was slammed and when it was empty. Food we've ordered: fried onion strings and jalapenos, onion rings, chicken fried steak, cowboy steak, various sides, jalapeno grilled cheese, bbq mac and cheese, beers, and cocktails. It's all been ok. My fav, the CFS, has been super tough both times. Everything is always seasoned perfectly though which is great but the meals are never hot enough when they come out, like they've been sitting a bit. Also, they have line dancing, but it's only 18+/21+ which sucks because I really wanted to bring my 14 y/o who loves learning new dances. Hate to do this but the food has gone way down. Got the "highly recommended sliders" the menu board shows these plump patties with a slider bun. Have been wanting to check out this restaurant for awhile and came here for lunch on a Saturday. Walking in, service was really friendly in welcoming us! Opted for the country fried steak breakfast along with sirloin steak mac and cheese. The country fried steak was amazing! The portions are huge and it came with a side of hash browns or potatoes and some toast and butter as well as your choice of eggs. The steak was crispy and the gravy was delicious. The Mac and cheese was pretty solid as well, but I did find myself wishing the steak was more tender. We wanted it medium but it came out more so well done. The flavoring on the dish was good though. The restaurant is really nicely decorated with TVs showing rodeos and sporting events. Service was really friendly and helpful throughout. Great addition to Riverside! First time at a country bar and was amazed by the vibes! Was very busy for a Saturday night so recommend making a reservation if interested in dining. At 9pm they begin line dancing and it's non stop for hours! Did notice that there is more of a younger crowd, around very early 20s. Service as others say does lack and is slow. Honestly when I first tried Shindigs, I absolutely loved it. The dishes, the drinks, the vibe, everything seemed on point. However, I've been back a number of times & while I love the restaurant, it's seriously struggling when it comes to food & service. The last straw came when our family came to eat there after going to the cemetery together with my dad for my mom's birthday. She passed in 2022 so we usually go as a family & then go out to eat afterwards. It was relatively empty with one large party finishing up their dessert & a party of 4. We were a party of 14. So we waited so we could be seated together. We asked to be seated in the main dining area at a large group of tables together but were told that those tables were "reserved." So we waited about 20 minutes & the party of 4 left first. So we all sat there next to the pool table. We got menus & the waitress took our drink orders. It took 25 minutes more in the relatively deserted restaurant for the waitress to take our food orders. Once she took our orders we waited...and waited...and waited. Meanwhile the restaurant is starting to get busy. Everyone around us that came after us was getting their food. But not any of us. Finally, 2 of our orders came out. Then about 15 minutes later 2 more orders came out. It continues like this & I'm at the other end of the table & still waiting for our food. It's been 2 hours now & I'm hangry. My sister finally got her side dinner salad. Yes you got that right-- she waited 2 hours for a side dinner salad! She also ordered pasta & took one bite and you guessed it--the dish was barely warm. She had waited 2 hours for a dinner salad and cold pasta. The waitress offered to have it remade but she wasn't willing to wait an eternity for them to redo her dish so she asked the waitress to just have them reheat it. My other sister finally got her salad which was an actual meal with cold chicken and other veggies in it (smart girl I guess because it being cold wasn't a problem). After that, the cold pasta was brought to the table reheated. They finally brought my dish which was an appetizer platter that was supposed to include jalapeño poppers, pectaters with pulled pork, fried pickles and onion rings. I had ordered this because my husband had ordered the Mac & Cheese with the pulled pork & we intended to share because he loves the poppers. I noticed that there were more pecktaters & no poppers. I asked the waitress where the poppers were. She replied, "Oh they ran out of those so they substituted the pectaters." I kind of lost it by that point because I'd already waited 2 1/2 hours for an appetizer platter (which usually comes first not last). I said, "That would have been good to know BEFORE I ordered. The whole reason I got this as a meal was because my husband loves the poppers." She replied "Let me check & see if I can deduct $5 off or you can order something else." Honestly I was NOT going to wait forever for them to make something else so we just took the $5 off because by this time we had been there 3 hours. So I had all these pecktaters which I did not eat & by this time my hunger had passed & I didn't feel like eating a bunch of massive potato balls. I ate the onion rings & fried pickles had two bites of Mac & cheese & I was done. Seriously, in what restaurant universe do you substitute something in an order WITHOUT asking the customer?! I'm sorry but in the restaurant business, the customer is king. They are the reason you're in business. While I realize we were a large party, it was so vexing that the kitchen couldn't get our orders out while everyone that came later was getting their food. Then some of us got cold food (my sister's pasta wasn't the only dish that came out cold). It's just not good service. Also bringing out dishes 2 at a time with 10-15 minutes in between & bringing out cold food is not acceptable. Substituting other items for what was ordered without asking the customer is also not acceptable. This was an important occasion for my family and spending so much time watching other people get their food and waiting so long for ours was disappointing. My family never wants to eat there again. This was an EPIC FAIL. It's not the first time that the service was subpar since my first visit. I've gone with just my husband & had a similar experience with slow service & cold food & watched employees on cell phones ignoring us. I kept giving it chances because it really is a cool place but I just can't justify spending money for food and service like this. I will not be going here again. That's pretty sad because if the kitchen got their act together & the service was remarkably better I would love eating here. When they get the food out hot and cooked right it's definitely really good. But I'm sorry I can't pay good money for more miss than hit. read more

While the food isn't included in the happy hour, we didn't mind since we had already eaten and were just there for snacks. I'm writing this as someone who worked 15 years as a waitress and bartender. I live nearby and really wanted to love this place, but unfortunately the experience was disappointing. We came on a slow Sunday around 3:45. There was no host, and multiple bartenders saw us waiting to be sat (about 4 minutes) without acknowledging us. We weren't greeted for several minutes, never offered a drink menu, and only received waters. Service felt very disorganized....apps and kids' food came out with everything else, despite asking for it to come first, and our pecktaters were supposed to have pork but only had potato's in them. Our adult mac & cheese was served as a single serving in an appetizer-sized plate. The kids menu is also very overpriced ($18 for Mac and cheese w French fries). While our server was kind, she seemed to be the only one handling tables (3-5 max) while bartenders focused solely on bar guests. We also waited a long time with dirty plates to be picked up before having to ask for boxes ourselves from a bartender and a cook who were just standing talking to each other. The owner even greeted the table next to us during this time and I thought he would say hi to us or notice the plates stacked but he didn't. Prices are high and the menu is small, so better service is expected....especially during a slow period. (Before 5pm dinner rush, only 3 tables Sat and eating, and no one at the bar eating is considered slow) The good: the food itself was genuinely delicious. Some friends and I decided to check this place out Saturday night , so I made a reservation for a stage side table at 7 pm...The info I had read was that you were able to stay at your table for 90 minutes and after that you had to pay a fee, but it said the band started at 8 so I figured we would listed to the band for a half hour and then decide... So of course our table wasn't ready and the manager said the band didn't start till 9 anyways...She said whatever was on google isn't accurate , they mainly use Instagram...Nobody that worked them seemed to really know much.. I have heard so many great things about Shindigs from the moment it opened and have finally gotten around to trying it out! We went as a party of 8 on a Saturday night around 5:30 to celebrate my mom's birthday and were sat pretty quickly! It seems like it gets busier as the night goes on. There were a lot of families dining when we got there and when we left (maybe around 7), there were more people there for the bar and to hang out -- so it's really a place for all types of vibes, which is really awesome! We were all super excited to try the food! I loved the fried pickles and I thought the Mac & cheese was pretty good! Everything was truly full of flavor and cooked perfectly -- none of us had any complaints at all and ate almost every bite!! The staff was super friendly throughout our time there, and even brought my mom a little cookie with ice cream for her birthday! I'm from the Bay Area but during a visit down here I went to Shindigs. Wow! This place was awesome with one exception. We were seated quickly but then we waited more than 10 minutes for anybody to come acknowledge us. Maybe it's where we were sitting and they didn't see us. My friend was just about to get up and leave when thankfully the waitress came. She did apologize and I think she said she didn't see us so that was probably a one off. Anyway, the fries are amazing. Looks like they're double cooked. They're super crispy and they have great flavor and they're above and beyond most fries at restaurants. I was told the turkey club and the smoked turkey sandwich were great, but I won the night with my Wagyu Bacon blue burger. Holy cow. It was so good. The hamburger was so juicy and thick and falling out of the bun. One bite you taste super thick and crispy bacon with blue cheese. The next bite, you get a big taste of the burger itself and the chipotle sweet jam that was on it. Every bite gave me some different flavor to focus on. The foodie in me was happy dancing. After seeing many updated reviews on social media, we decided to give Shindigs a second chance. We went on Sunday afternoon and, although it was pretty full, the wait was not long at all. Our waiter was friendly and attentive, checking on us often. We started with fried pickles and they did not disappoint at all. They were freshly made and piping hot, in addition to being delicious. I ordered the hot chicken sandwich and my husband got the western burger. Both items were very good and came with a side of fries. I'm glad we gave this place another shot because it's nice to have good options in this area. It's more refreshing that this business took to heart the poor reviews and aimed to improve. I have visited the establishment on three to four occasions, seated at the bar, only to wait approximately 10 to 20 minutes for any form of acknowledgment from the bartender, despite three or four employees being less than ten feet away from me. The rotation of bartenders and their habit of having their backs turned to customers while engaging in conversations with bar backs and servers have been observed on various occasions. After sitting patiently for 15 to 20 minutes without any greeting or reassurance such as "I'll be right with you," I chose to leave without any acknowledgment. This might explain why restaurants in this location frequently change ownership or close. Do not misunderstand me; I believe Shindigs was excellent when they first opened. I reached out, they had the audio and the games on their large TV's. We arrived looked over the menu. My daughter ordered the 8oz steak and mashed potato's, son ordered the cheeseburger meal, and I ordered the firecracker burger meal. We've been coming to Shindigs since it opened and though there's been some growing pains it's definitely our go to. Food for the most part has been pretty good weve stopped in for breakfast , brunch and dinner and we've really had no issues. My 5yr old daughter loves her Kids steak & Mac n cheese, have never had a bad burger and the ribeye we had last night fell apart in your mouth. Service was a little shaky there in the beginning when they started (as expected) with wait times once seated but honestly in the last 3-4 months they've been great. We had our daughter's 18th birthday there last night and our waitress's absolutely killed it. Had a party of about 25 and everyone was kind of spread out and a little overwhelming but she kept a smile , everyone got their food, no one complained , it was a great time and GREAT service for that many people. We also like to come for the after 9pm crowd. I don't dance myself, just enjoy the drinks but my wife loves to and in the recent months our 17yr old (now 18) has started coming with her friends. We do appreciate that these younger ones have somewhere to go dance instead of being at house parties and other, plus they put on a good show. Bartenders are always super friendly, cocktail waitresses always personable and fun to chat with. I do think this place is definitely going in the right direction with the crew they have these days and moves they continue to make. Maia, Donald , Tanner and Caitlyn are just a few that have given some pretty great service. I do hope eventually they are able to get a patio area! If I had 1 complaint it would be reservations. There's been times we show up and can't get a table because theyre "reserved" and we sit at the bar or back area just to see tables sit open for 1hr plus , then eventually they'll let us move anyway or we made reservations 10 days in advanced and moved back the time 30 minutes 24 hours before (because we planned on staying all night) and when we got there was told since we adjusted time we had to be out of the table by 9pm because changing time move us to back of the line . We like to typically come for dinner then stay after for the drinking / dancing and such so that's a buzz kill. But other than that , love the place. Came in during a busy time, which I totally understand--but waiting over an hour just to even get a server is unacceptable. No acknowledgment, no updates, nothing. It felt like we were completely ignored the entire time. I get that places get slammed, but basic communication and checking in on customers should still be a priority. Really disappointing experience overall. I hope they figure out how to handle busy times better because this wasn't it. read more
