Grub was standard os dive bar. Have eaten here before , solid meal. But tonight we were here for the Friday night prime rib special. It did not disappoint, obviously not better than a major steakhouse, but this is a prime rib special you want and the prime rib special you deserve. Although every seat in the house was taken, the staff was professional, quick, proficient, got the orders, correct and followed up appropriately multiple times. It was a Saturday Night, it was pleasant here at first, but at the night went on, it went to a complete disaster because of 1 Bartender. Some Bartender in the Ponytail started being so unprofessional and rude. Insulting and attacking a customer because they didn't "tip him" one time. His behavior was very embarrasing and upsetting. Getting upset for bein not tipped "1 Time" is unprofessional. And do note I know the group he yelled at was tipping all night long. Feel very, very bad for the group of girls, for that behavior was way low. Doesn't matter how the day or night goes, if you can NOT hold yourself & your behavior as a bartender, then you have no business being behind a bar, period. As a Bartender, it is your job to stay be as Professional as you can. And to treat all costumers with respect, no matter how the shift is going. read more

Stopped by, before Christmas, to have a couple of drinks. We sat outside and were quickly attended to by Liz. I asked if there were any "Christmas" themed drinks and though there weren't, Liz was able to put one together and I received a peppermint espresso martini. I'm surprised this cozy little dive bar doesn't have more reviews. Maybe everyone wants to keep it to themselves? Am I ruining a good thing by blabbing? From the outside, it looks pretty dowdy. Sad little parking lot, a building that might have been spiffy in the 50's, and a very big, garish, florescent sign that makes me think I've been teleported to the Las Vegas Strip, frankly had me saying "NOPE" for many decades. But in a weak moment, my curiosity got the best of me today. Besides. I had just finished my dental cleaning appointment and was having naughty thoughts on how to get my teeth dirty again. We were not greeted as we entered, but maybe that was because the bartender/server was busy attending to a decent Tuesday lunch crowd of obvious regulars. It took a moment for our eyes to adjust to the dim lighting, but once acclimated, I felt like we were tossed back in time. Dark paneled walls, dark maroon carpeting, about 9 dark wooden tables. Taking up about a third of the room was a dark wooden bar with seating for 10. A modern, dazzling digital juke box was mounted on one wall, 5 tvs were strategically mounted on the remaining wall space. A crackling fire in the fireplace and some twinkling lights finished the look. It felt cozy, snug, and friendly like a big bear hug. We could have sat outdoors in their covered patio but it happened to be a very rare, chilly and rainy California day. Instead we snuggled up to the little table closest to the fireplace. And we had very little wait before we met our friendly bartender/server, Tiffany. Frankly, I love the little menu. It, too, is a throwback to gentler times, with some great, nostalgic, comfort food offerings. The daily specials served after 5 pm will make you weep. Shrimp Louie? Don't see that too often in these here parts! It came with 5 plump shrimp, a sliced, hard boiled egg, tomatoes, black olives, and saltine crackers. Thousand Island dressing is the way to go for the finish. Then there was the one big Pork chop dinner, the rib cut. It was thick and plump then cooked to perfection so it was moist and tender. Mr B chose a baked potato with the fixin's, and it also had a pile of fresh, spring asparagus. Between that and his Scotch and 7, he was reduced to babbling incoherently. Tipping Optional... Our waitress was terrible. I had to go to the bar serveral times to get drinks because she totally ignored us. So when we left I did not leave a tip. Bitch chased us down like the crazy IKEA lady and said I forgot to put a tip. I looked her straight in the eye and said maybe next time the customer should not have to do your job, You should be tipping Me!!! Doubtful I'll go back, but the food was good read more

My fiancé and I stopped by The Sire in Riverside hoping to check out a local dive bar, but unfortunately, it just wasn't the best night for us. The place was packed and there weren't any open seats, which made it tough to hang around. On top of that, it felt like everyone was staring at us--we got the vibe that this is more of a "regulars only" kind of spot. It made things pretty uncomfortable, so we ended up leaving shortly after arriving. Maybe it was just an off night for us--might give it another shot down the line, but this visit didn't quite hit the mark. read more

Something has changed in the last bit here. We love to have drinks and dinner and on the patio in good weather - the food was good and the drinks were nice. Haven't been in 4 to 6 months because life. Went last night and the kitchen has changed. Ordered food we've had before (and enjoyed). My chicken sandwich was a pale chicken thigh, cheese, bacon, and untoasted bun. No sauce, no avocado (that I asked for) - just a sad little collection of ingredients. A handful of fries. We did get packets of mustard, pickle relish, and mayo on the table. Husband got a chili burger and fries and the chili was so salty, it was bad. We ate everything because we were really hungry but this is not a repeat experience. We texted a friend on the way home that the kitchen has changed and is maybe not a dinner and drinks on a Friday night spot anymore. Riverside lifer...buuuuut just didn't feel welcomed... pleasantly surprised ambiance was my style quaint and dark...it's hot outside and I'm not a fan of natural light the drinks were THE BEST annnnnd I had an amazing grill cheese!!! Finally got to try this place out. I stopped by on a Wednesday evening after my gym workout, before 7pm. The lot was already pretty packed but I was able to find a spot eventually. Inside was packed as well but we found two seats at the bar. Service was great, drinks were strong, and the food was scrumptious. I really liked the chilli on my chilli cheese fries. I don't care if it came from a can, it was delicious. They also give you a little cup of diced onions to pour over the chilli. It's a nice divey bar/restaurant where you can get good food at great prices. Definitely coming back. read more

Love this little spot... it's been here for years. The waitresses are dolls (Marisa is my favorite, sooo sweet), the bartenders courteous, and the food is delicious. The Sire has been that one place I always pass by but never visit. It took a while to finally walk up the steps and through the door. Welcomed with a friendly greeting and felt the cheers vibe with the regulars enjoying their meals. A few tables inside, high top bar seats and outdoor patio seating. Really quaint spot with wonderful service and great pours. Enjoyed the evening with an entree that took me back to home cooking at ma's. I love the Sire. I hate to give them such a high rating because all the "hipsters" will swoop in on this beautiful dive bar, but you have to give credit where credit is due. First off they have food specials every day! From classic bar food to tasty entrees that belong at an expensive steakhouse. The food comes out quick but the drinks come out quicker. They don't skimp on alcohol here. When you order a well drink, prepare to lose some nose hairs on your first sip. They come out strong and get stronger till you're getting carried out by all your "hipster" friends. The staff is always courteous and kind (for the reviews that say otherwise, those reviewers don't understand the stress of these girls running around in a full bar). The sire is definitely for locals who have had a long week and need to unwind. They've got their "usuals" and they have their seats that you'll usually find them in. I come here once a week and will always have a soft spot for this gem. It hasn't changed much in the 15 years that I've came and I hope it stays that way. Keep up the great work! read more

Came here today for Taco Wednesday. We wanted to give it a try. The taco shell is not crispy at all, yes is good meat and the toppings but they need to work on the crispy of the tortilla is not good. This place takes me back. It's a very cool space and so vintage it's back in fashion. Lots of deep red vinyl everyone and the low candlelit tables where are perfect match. The bar is busy and the lounge was about half occupied. No happy hour specials slow service was really the only issues but certainly forgivable. The menu is great a priced perfect to appease a regular crowd. I thought the half pound hamburger with fries was not only delicious but a real bargain. My buddy's steak was flavorful,l juicy and tender and at $17.00 makes me want to have dinner here again tonight. Servers were busy but also very friendly. I can't believe I'm complaining about a dive on Sunday but here I am. Repetitively awful service on Sunday evenings with the waitress with the "I want to speak to your manager", haircut. This is the last time we visit on a Sunday. She set our drinks down, placed settings knowing we wanted to order dinner, and she ignores us for the next half hour. My RBF isn't that bad but I swear this chick has is out for us every time. The drinks are always sub-par unless B-Dawg is working. He's their only saving grace. Any other day is good. He saw me looking to see what beers they had on tap and then told me to go outside, someone will take care of us.
