I used to order here about once a week but due to mistakes with the orders I slowed that down to about once a month. The monthly order had missing items 100% of the time. The last time I ordered they left out the milkshakes and sent soda fountain drinks instead. When I called they said they gave the milkshakes to the delivery guy. As if the driver had a fountain drink machine in his car and drank all the milkshakes himself.....lol. Was craving a burger and was in the area, so I decided to try this spot. I created my own burger. I ordered a beef burger with American cheese, grilled onions, lettuce,  jalapeños, pickles, and their special sauce on a Martin's roll. The burger was okay. Wish the flavors were better. It was nothing special in my opinion.The special sauce was ok too. It seemed like a mayo-ketchup mix. I ordered French fries as well, and they were good. Probably wouldn't return. Better known as the Shake Shack of New Canaan (and that is okay!). Sometimes you just have to do what others can, but just won't. Got the Double K-Town and fries. Flavors/textures in the K-Town didn't quite marry, but was ravenous so if you show a blind man color... The patty itself could have been cooked better, and four dollars for an extra patty is a bit too classy for me. Redeeming factor was definitely the Martin's roll, straight up goofing for anybody not to be wrapping their meat in those these days. Fries were a generous portion and quite tasty, liked those. Also tried the chicken sandwich once upon a May Saturday night, think that's where their sweet spot is. I knew of this place because there are always teenagers eating in front of it. Sometimes teens will eat just about anything, but I just never gave it a try. My son moved in town from Virginia and received a coupon for a free lunch so the opportunity came for him to try it out. The workers are fabulous and many people who came in knew what that wanted to order while I just stared at the menu. So many options for toppings and sauces!!! I ended up selecting a turkey burger with lettuce, tomato, and pickles, with a side order of fries and a chocolate milk. As I waited outside I watched a large group of local teens thoroughly enjoying their meals. What a great place!!! And what great advertising for Press Burger. The turkey burger order was "to go" and the young man behind the counter placed all of the hot items into one bag and then handed me the cold chocolate milk separately. This was thoughtful gesture since many people would place hot and cold together into one bag. The turkey burger was simply delicious and the fries were crispy. This is not the place you wanna go for a Smashburger. I ordered a build your own burger and was extremely disappointed with what I was given. i got a build your own double burger and I added carrots and mushrooms as a topping, the pickled carrots had absolutely no vinegar to them. They tasted like regular carrots that were brushed lightly with vinegar. The mushrooms had no love to them. Honestly, they didn't even seemed wash. And then the most disappointing part of this meal was the banana pudding. I received a cup with pudding and whip cream. This is a pitiful excuse of a restaurant. These prices are unjustifiable!!!! It used to be good. Today was pretty much the worst experience there ever! 3 people got their order before me ( I only ordered 1 cheeseburger, fries and a soda ) so wtf???? 1 piece of lettuce, 2 tiny tomatoes, 3 slivers of onions with slight mayo. Also ordered hot sauce on it. Besides the fact they gave me skimpy cheep toppings- there was no hot sauce. The cheese for the fries was congealed and not the usual. As I left I went to grab a packet of salt. Tons of pepper but not 1 salt remained! The container also contained dirt and garbage but no salt. The sidewalk tables were Disgusting!! And after all that they had the audacity to leave a tip jar right as soon as you come in where you order. What are they doing that they so deserve a tip for? They're not restocking the salt~ they're leaving everything dirty ~ the tables are disgusting and I had to go in and ask if they had my food ready and nobody talks ~ nobody answers you as they walk around like zombies with no personality whatsoever. It's a shame because it's so convenient but just because it's convenient doesn't make it good and you think they would step up their game being in New Canaan! I should have read the reviews before I went and ordered from this place. I also do not know why this place has so many names. It's either Station Eats, Station Burger, Press Burger, etc. It's confusing and seems like they are trying to cover up bad reviews. However, that's just my opinion. I ordered this off of UberEats, so the temperature of my food being cold can 100% be attributed to the delivery. Had I eaten this locally, it would have been warmer. However, everything else I have to say is completely within their control. First, the burger. I have never seen a burger this small. I mean...tiny. Not just small in terms of diameter, but the patty itself was the size of a McDonald's burger. The burger had no flavor, no juice and was horribly dry. They also got my order wrong as there was no lettuce on my burger either. Although it's not as if the lettuce would have salvaged this abomination. The fries were just...regular. They were slightly warm but had no seasoning. Perhaps a little bit of salt and that's it. They were thick which is good, but nothing else. I also ordered the Station Sauce but never received any. I cannot comment on how that tastes. This place tries hard to be Shake Shack and fails horribly. The quality of the food is abysmal. Firstly, let me say that the ONE STAR is not about the food. It is purely based on the very nasty cook. We never got to eat his food & didn't want to. As first-timers, we walked in & looked at the menu board on the wall. We walked over to where the cash register was to order. The cook yelled "you order here" & pointed to where he was - 10 feet away may I add. We walked over to him & ordered 2 hot dogs. He barked "fries?" We said ok. We proceeded to order toppings for our hot dogs. He cut us off. My husband said "no honey, we order toppings over there" and told the guy "you really seem to have some system here." The cook said with a nasty tone in his voice "you got that right." My husband & I looked at each other & headed for the door. The cook & some other guy laughed as we walked out. As a side note, when driving into town, we passed Station Eats & heard someone yelling "get the F out of our restaurant." Seems keeping customers is a problem. Fine sea salt and malt vinegar for your organic fries? Yea, they got that! Swiss, thick cut bacon, and yummy steak sauce for your burger? Yup, they got that too! Ask them to toast the bun and not wrap the burger up if your staying. I like the buns they use, but not if it gets squishy when steaming in the foil. One word, wow! Station eats is the best burger place in Fairfield county. They have so many options to choose from such as beef, chicken, veggie and more. Each very tasty in their own way. Tries a Bit Too Hard to be a Low-Brow Burger Joint Station Eats is self-consciously bare bones. The way the whole place is designed, with the grill right in the middle of the floor, with the trays and the food wrapped in paper and the serve-your-own ketchup, with the fact that they didn't even take credit cards for like their first year of operation, the place feels like it wants to be a simple burger joint. But the problem is, the prices don't match. It's low-brow with high prices. I got out of there today with a Sloppy Joe, fries, and a milkshake for $11 and change. For that price, you guys could at least do table service. The food itself is of mixed quaity. The Sloppy Joe is probably the best I ever tasted, but that's not saying much, because the only other ones I tasted were at the Ox Ridge School cafeteria. The hot dogs are quite good quality.The burgers are... they're OK. They're burgers. Not patties, good ground beef. The buns aren't anything special. And the fries leave something to be desired. You can get different kinds of fancy fries but the regular fries, which are the ones that I always prefer, are those ones with the crinkly edges that remind me of the ones you can buy frozen at the Food Emporium. The milkshakes are milkshakes. Nothing to recommend them, not bad either. The place isn't comfortable. The seats are small, the tables are hard, and I have no clue why they made that choice... easier to clean? At least give me a nice, comfy chair that I can relax in during my lunch break. I've been working hard all morning and now I wanna lean back a little while eating my burger. Just give me that, please?
