I really like this little place! It's almost always crowded, but that's because the food is so good! The staff is very friendly and helpful. They really care that you are satisfied and take time to chat with regulars. I tried the ham and cheese this visit along with a side of fries. The sandwich is enormous, so you really don't need the side but go for them anyway. I really liked the cabbage slaw and mustard sauce in the sandwich. They made the dish with a tangy and creamy flavor.

My wife and I have been coming to The Dilly Duck Shop since they opened, and it's become one of our absolute favorite spots in Norwalk. Phyllis is always so warm and gracious in her greetings, she makes the place feel like a true neighborhood gem. The atmosphere is a perfect mix of modern simplicity and cozy, cabin-like comfort. But honestly, even if it weren't such a welcoming space, we'd still be here constantly because the food is INCREDIBLE. You really can't go wrong with anything on the menu, but I do have my go-tos. For breakfast, it's the Yogurt Agave Bowl when I'm being calorie-conscious and the Double Classical when I'm not. Next time I'm ready to indulge, I've already got my eyes on the Bravas Fries. For lunch, nothing beats the Rotisserie Roasted Beef Sandwich with 24-hour onions...I'm practically salivating just thinking about it. To drink, I'm partial to the Fizzy Palmer, and their coffee is consistently top notch, the highest quality you'll find. We love this place and hope it's around for many, many years to come. If you haven't been yet, do yourself a favor and check out this Norwalk gem.

This place is truly amazing. It's a breakfast and lunch spot that's owned by a son and his mother. The food here is fresh, flavorful and it's absolutely delicious. I came in with a friend today. I had the Pork Stack and it was truly phenomenal. The rotisserie pork was a 10 out of 10. It came with two sunny side eggs, bacon and potatoes that were served over a bed of arugula. My friend had the Classical breakfast sandwich and loved it! The mom works the front of the house and she's absolutely lovely. Do yourself a favor and come and visit.

Delisous and freshly made, the menu has a great selection of food and beverages. Great spot for a quick lunch. The staff was sweet and welcoming. I will visit again to enjoy this cozy little gem.

I had a classical BEG and it was perfect. The egg was just a bit runny (the way god intended) and the bun was heavenly. The woman at the counter is so friendly. I think she makes you feel at home. The decode is light colored pine. Such a nice atmosphere.

Dilly Duck Shop ("DDS") has a 5 Star rating with over 200 reviews. It was #4 on the '22 CT Yelp Top 25 Places to Eat List. I could go through our food order (the breakfast Bravas Fries, the Lemon Fizz, the Special Corn Muffin with honey cream, my son's Bacon, Egg and Cheese) in detail and explain why it was all very good. But with all the prior praise, I don't need to do that. Instead, I'll highlight DDS's next level service. I met Phyllis, who modestly referred to herself as, "the chef's mother". I'll refer to Phyllis as one of the best front of house people in CT. She takes orders at the counter, and then acts as a service concierge for the rest of your visit. Phyllis was more than friendly. She cared. My 10 y.o. son wanted a Bacon Egg & Cheese sandwich, but he only likes American Cheese. He and I discussed away from the counter whether DDS has American Cheese. I suspect, in all her multi-tasking, Phyllis instinctively knew to keep a helpful ear open. I ordered and asked whether they have American. She whispered, "No, but our cheddar is very mild. He'll think it's American." Phyllis instantly got it. If she hadn't whispered, my son would have heard. Since she communicated just with me, she allowed me to pull one over on my son. Which is what the situation called for. There may be one or two other people in the whole state, who (1) would know to reassure me that their Cheddar Cheese could pass for American, and (2) would say it quietly so my son wouldn't know. You know what else? Even though DDS was fairly busy, Phyllis came over and talked to my son, and made him feel special, thereby distracting him from potentially noticing the cheese WAS NOT American. She made me feel special too. And her son, Chef Russ, also came out and made us feel special. Top Notch Service. This will sound made up, but I swear it's true. Towards the end of our meal, my son said "do you think we could come here on my birthday?" We live an hour away, but I'm in. Five Stars

They have a fun burger selection, ranging from a classic bacon, lettuce, and tomato burger to the KC Burger, which I ordered. Mine came piled with an onion ring, jalapeño peppers, cheddar cheese, and Sweet Baby Ray's sauce on a toasted seeded roll. All burgers come with a small side of coleslaw, pickle chips, and your choice of fries, sweet potato fries, or onion rings, which is a nice touch. The person I was with ordered the Chino Burger, loaded with bacon, fried onions, and plenty of fresh blue cheese. The food came out hot and tasty, and the burgers were definitely thick and filling. My only real complaint was that the burger could have used a little more seasoning, and I think it would have gone up another notch if it had been flame-broiled instead of seared. Overall, this is not a fancy place, but it is a solid spot for a quality meal. If you are in the area or just passing through, I would recommend checking it out.

Super surprised that it wasn't slammed. We walked right in at lunch time and were just about the only ones there. The menu is overwhelming. I feel like I'd need to eat here for like a month straight to actually try everything that I want to. My son eats like a bird so he stuck to the "basic" menu and got the cookies and cream waffle. That was breakfast, lunch and dessert all in one. They did not skip on the crushed oreos. My daughter and I needed to see some of the viral dishes for ourselves so we stuck to the Social Media section of the menu. She got the Fried Chicken Mac N Cheese burrito and I got the Smash Wrap. Neither one of us finished even half of our mains. They are huge! Bigger isn't always better but the quality was not lost in the size. They were also delicious. We both loved the mac n cheese filling. Our waitress was super sweet and when she found out we were traveling, she threw in some complimentary "famous" cinnamon sugar donuts for the ride. I forgot to get a pic of those, but they were nice and fresh, even after we waited a few hours before eating them because we just about rolled out of there after eating so much. We will have to stop back in another time to share one of the gigantic milkshakes.

I had read some suspiciously positive reviews about Dairy King on Yelp, and ordered a cheeseburger and fries. I get that generations of Norwalkers and others have fond memories of their time here, and it was with that fact in mind that I ignored my intuition and entered the outdated, near-empty facade just after noon. For the new and unititiated, a word of admonition: do not let your senses fool you. Dairy King looks like a dive, and tastes like a dive, and not in any delicious way. I get that going pretty much anywhere for ice cream on a hot summer day is fun. What I do not get are comments here asserting that Dairy King's food, particularly their burgers are anything more than mediocre, studiously average at best, and a dubious step up over major chains. To all who will, in the the romantic twilight after Little League games or movies, arrive at Dairy King hungry and ready and willing to scarf down just about anything, I hope for your sake that good experiences continue, that fine memories of family and friends are created and then savored in the hopefully delicious silence of your unfolding life. But for me Dairy King is far behind even the middle of the pack in it's chosen catagory, my days of eating "just about anything" are well behind me, and Dairy King will have to take it the rest of the way without me, at least until the day the real estate developers lean on City Hall to condemn that section of Main Avenue (under a phonied-up interpretation of the eminent domain statutes) and Dairy King inevitably (and blessedly) falls to the wrecking ball, destined to become mixed-use retail with residential up above.

The staff was super friendly, and I ordered a Bacon, Egg, and Cheese. It was made on a Brioche roll with a fried egg. Honestly, I wasn't a huge fan of the egg or the sandwich overall. It was okay, probably a three-star kind of thing. Next time I went back, I tried the Calise sandwich, which has chicken cutlet, broccoli rabe, roasted peppers, fresh mozzarella, prosciutto, and balsamic glaze. I asked for the broccoli rabe on the side because I know everyone makes it differently. I get that it can be bitter, but some places make it taste amazing without the bitterness, so I wanted it on the side. The sandwich was really good, so I'd give it four stars, especially since the breakfast one was just three in my book. Sometimes you gotta visit a place a couple of times to really get a feel for their food. I wasn't really a fan of the broccoli rabe--it was a bit too bitter for me. But the sandwich itself was tasty, with well-seasoned chicken and really fresh mozzarella. Not sure if they make the mozzarella in-house, but it's delicious. It tasted just like you'd expect from an authentic Italian deli. Very good. Third time I went, I tried the Mother Clucker, which has a chicken cutlet, Russian dressing, cheddar cheese, and bacon. I wanted to try it because I'd seen it being made during my last visit and it looked awesome. It took about ten minutes to get ready. When I opened it up, I realized it had melted cheddar, not sliced like I thought, but it was all good. The sandwich was tasty, but a bit over the top with the bacon and melted cheddar--almost too much. I think using sliced cheddar would bring everything together better. The melted cheese kinda takes away from it, in my opinion. The bacon was crispy even with the cheesy sauce on top, and the chicken was nicely seasoned. I definitely plan to come back and try the Chopped Italian Combo. The staff's always friendly and welcoming, and it's a solid spot if you're looking for breakfast, with plenty of breakfast platters and other menu items that might catch your eye.
