The former Press Waffle is now called The Spot @ SOMA. We came in for breakfast and had The Rock: waffle sammich with sausage patty, cheese, and an egg however you like it. Tasty, with a very good flavor and texture sausage patty (I'm picky). We had lattes, too: a hazelnut and a mocha. All delivered to our table by two pleasant ladies after we ordered at the counter. (On busy days, likely the customer picks up at least their beverages themselves.) The decor is exactly same as Press. Even the menu seems unchanged. While waffles are delicious, they aren't a thing I'd eat daily or even weekly (CARBS, oy) and for those with a preference for anything not a waffle, they'll be out of luck. I'd love the new owners to broaden the menu just a bit to offer a protein waffle, as well as maybe one or two non-waffle options (toasted breakfast sammich, veggie omelette or scramble). read more

Amazing options of waffles, we got a savory and sweet to split as it was way too hard to decide. I wish they had half or kid portions but they are pretty decent sized to ensure it's enough but not too much considering the toppings. The savory one blew our minds it was pork sooie, the one with pulled pork on it! The service was fine but wasn't expecting to be charged for a water cup especially with the cuisine basically needing it was wash down the sugar. Okay so first off this place Is called the spot. I don't know if they recently taken over the space or if it's just not properly named in yelp. The menu has the different waffle options listed under this name as well as some other food options. I went here with a couple of my friends and my little one and I would say that my experience was pretty great. I was greeted by friendly staff taking my order and I can tell this was going to be a good food experience. Regarding service, you pick up your drinks and your food at the front unless you had something that was made in the back of the kitchen. If that's the case, they will call out your name and bring it to your table. You also get your own silverware and water refills. I will say that this place is somewhere I would go for a lot of different snack options as well as something sweet. We all shared food in order for us to try many different options. I got the connor, cinnamon waffle, waffle sandwich, garlic parmesan wings, in the Crawfish egg rolls. I will say overall for the food that we got the prices were a little bit pricey. This could just be due to General inflation. I will say that I did like the Connor breakfast sandwich. It was very hot, the meat was season very nicely and the bones were delicious. The Crawfish egg rolls were also season pretty good. The cinnamon waffle was very sweet cinnamon waffle was very sweet! So if you're someone who doesn't like a lot of sweet stuff I do not advise you to get that but it was quite tasty in my three year old loved it too. The garlic parmesan wings her nine books so I was expecting actual wings but these were wingers. Like I said some of this was probably due to inflation but I was just expecting a little bit more. The flavor was great. So I'm a person who hates me all the food is brought out at the same time but some things are cold and some things are hot. I will say that we got our food in a more staggered fashion but everything was hot and delicious. If you're somebody who wants everything at one time, this may bother you a bit. Customer Service: The two gentleman that were working there that day were really nice. Ambience: Quaint spot. Minimal decor. Parking: Street parking. Food: FOOD WAS DELICIOUS! I got The Cristo with Strawberries and egg. The waffle had the perfect about of "crisp". Wasn't soggy and wasn't too hard. The waffles also had some sort of sweetness infused in them. I didn't even need syrup. The saltiness from the ham, turkey, and melted American cheese paired very well with the sweetness of the waffle and blackberry jam. Overall, all was well. The bathroom could have used a cleaning and hand soap. Utensils and juice were set up hotel style (out in the open). I inquired about some to-go utensils but they were out. Loved all 3 I've had so far! I've tried "The American", "Churro Waffle with ice cream" and "Chicken & Waffles". "The American" stole the show imo but I'm a sucker for anything with an egg on it. I also appreciated that I got to decide how I like my egg cooked. It came out a perfect over medium. The bacon is not your run of mill brand either. Tasted of quality. The waffle itself is made perfectly. Seems to pair well with anything! The other two were just as delicious! Seriously try them! I'm going to try them all! We enjoyed our visit. I read previous reviews and still feel like this is a great place. The decor is awesome, the food is great, and it's downtown. With it being downtown I expect it to have a higher price and it's downtown in the SOMA district so even more pricey. The chicken could stand to be more than a frozen tender which would really set this place apart. The waffles though.......the are good. You don't think it will be enough but it is. On two recent visits to Press Waffle I had the chicken and waffle, while my brother went for the pizza waffle. He's more the burger or pizza type, so the pizza waffle was perfect for him. My waffle was covered in syrup and bacon bits and topped with two well sized chicken strips. As much as I love this waffle, I might try the Cristo next time. It is stuffed with Black Forest ham. Then there's the dessert waffles... Brother's waffle was filled with savory pizza toppings. He was full, as was I, from the generous portions. $9 was the average price for a named waffle. $5 buys the naked liége waffle, which is a beautiful thing by itself, but can be topped as you wish. The staff is professional and friendly. Besides waffles, they serve espresso, milkshakes, beer, wine and various refreshments. There is sidewalk dining as well as the nice quiet inside, perfect for getting a little work done, or having a business meeting or a casual date. Press Waffle has specials, so we walked out with two waffles each for dinner and breakfast tomorrow morning. I would write more, but that waffle is calling my name. read more

We were passing thru Little Rock for an overnight stay and decided upon Press Waffle for breakfast. The ambiance, the food, the menu, even the owner, were an A+. My wife had a build your own waffle and I tried the chicken and waffle. Everything about the waffles were perfect. My only hesitation is the slight attitude we received from the girl taking orders and making the food. I really wanted to like this place - waffles and in a cool location, right? What's not to love? Unfortunately, a few things. First, the only thing that seems fresh is the waffles. Everything else appears to be frozen. My fiend ordered waffle fries and I saw the staff members pull out a bag of frozen waffle fries. She also ordered chicken and waffles, and it was clear the chicken was from a frozen package, not hand breaded and cooked in house. Second, I ordered my waffle with no bacon. When it came out, it was absolutely covered with bacon. It was near the end of their day and we had waited awhile, so I just scrapped it off, but I was very frustrated by this because I had stated several times. The waffles are delicious and this is a place we frequent often. But my experience today has put me off ever returning to this location. While my husband was in line ordering with my in-laws, my 2 year old and I went to go sit at a table. There we're 5 tables open; 2 booths and 3 bar style tables. I sat at a booth and grabbed a high chair. And immediately a man (perhaps the manager?) came over and said that I was not supposed to sit down until I ordered. I explained my husband was ordering right now, but he proceeded to scold me on how my sitting down before ordering was preventing others ahead of me from finding seating. There was only one other group in line ordering in front of my husband which consisted of a party of 2. Of all the times I've eaten here, I've never been told this, nor is there any signage anywhere stating that you are not allowed to seat yourself without ordering first. It was not packed, people were not fighting for tables, and if this is the type of rule you want in your establishment - post a sign. It's a shame I won't be retuning here, cause the food and vibe is lovely. I'd still recommend Press Waffle Co. as a company, as long as you're dining at a different location. read more

I ordered to go, pick-up. There wasn't any parking. Not their fault. So I went inside. They couldn't find my order. That's fine. I understand P.o.S systems can hide stuff. I showed them my order number. They found it. I waited. The Ambient noise is extremely loud, like you can hear music kind of? But there was about 10ish people and it seemed like there was 50. It was very chaotic. Sound averse people might actually hate it. Oh and their app isn't reflective of individual stores, they do not carry oat milk or 2 of the syrups. So I had the drinks canceled. They did ask multiple times if I had paid in the app - which was a bit frustrating. The staff was nice, if not great at communicating - again see sound issues. The sound is so loud, you have scream your order or concerns at the front person. This is all before I received any actual food. So we'll see and report back once that happens. read more

Where to begin? I called a week in advance to let them know I would have 12 people coming in a week (today). I called again yesterday to remind them. It was the same guy and he said yes, he'd be prepared. He wasn't. No apology, no excuse. It stressed me out big time, 12 people were about to walk in! The employees here have NO concept of customer service. I wore my favorite shirt and when I got there 4 of my party were seated at a table for 6. The other table that should've been ours had been given away. I was stressed and panicked as we started moving round tables to the end of our rectangle table to prepare for the additional 8 to arrive. I ordered the sampler of 4, but no bacon on the American. Plus I ordered water and a latte. They said it would take 15 to 20 minutes and I said OK. I had to go back up to ask about my latte, and water. The main guy started to give me a cup for water and I asked for a bottle of Ozarka. He asked whether I had paid for it and I said "I don't know, I told the girl at the cashier I wanted a water." He decided to just give me an Ozarka (the one thing done right). Later my latte was ready. It was made by a different guy. I picked it up at the counter and sat down. I went to take a sip and without me seeing, the lid popped off one side, so it had never been shut properly. I had a spill ALL DOWN the front of my shirt. 15 inches long, 6 inches wide. My favorite shirt. I put napkins under my shirt and went back to the counter. I had put the lid back on firmly, and showed him what happened if you picked up the cup - the lid popped off and flew over the counter. He claimed that I was squeezing my cup!! So it was my fault! Really? Their cups are too flimsy to be coffee cups. Cheap brand. And he never bothered to instruct the guy who made it to be sure the lid's on right ( which theoretically MIGHT hold a flimsy cup from buckling). His offer to me? A paper towel. Gee thanks. Not even an apology or offer for a fresh coffee. I got an extra cup to support the flimsy one. When the other rectangle table became free, we slid it over to ours. I had to go to the counter 3 times making a wipe down motion to get someone to come wipe it down. A different guy came out, wiped down a booth and another table. Totally missed ours!! I had to intercept him and show him our table needed wiping down. When he did, he left spots overlooked. I literally had to point out what he missed. With all that I had gotten up from the table 5 times, and had never come back down from being stressed. My order was ready after 20 minutes. The sweet ones were delicious. The savory: one wasn't warm anymore, the other had bacon on it. He was going to reheat the first but once he saw it piled on top of the one with bacon he decided to remake them both. I sat back down. When they were ready (I've gotten up 6 times already, now the 7th), the newly made savory waffles were good. Well, one was. In their effort to cook them extra hot, the waffle got overcooked, was hard, and the plastic knife couldn't cut into it. The plastic cutlery was set out and the knives were knife end up, which means everybody has touched the knife you're about to use. The concept of waffles is good but the people running this franchise have a very primitive idea of customer service. They probably don't know what it looks like, so they don't know how to replicate it. I was so stressed out through the whole thing I never got to relax. And it's SUPER loud in there when it's busy, acoustics are bad. 1 star is for the waffle recipe. read more

The Monte Cristo was delicious as was the American (they even ask how you want your egg). The chicken on the chicken and waffles left a lot to be desired. They really need a higher quality tender to go with the awesome sugary, crunchy but still tender/doughy inside waffle. Had a beer and also bought a root beer but found out later they were out.
