I had dinner at Buenos Aires Grill and Café on my first night in Little Rock. My hotel was down the street from the restaurant so I was able to walk over. The restaurant is located on the edge of the River Market District. The entrance is actually below street level. Take the stairs down to the front patio/courtyard area to get to the main entrance. Despite being downtown, the restaurant has a neighborhood feel to it. My server Camila was excellent! She was great about making recommendations and answering my questions. I ordered the Flank Steak (medium) with mixed vegetables (squash, zucchini, red pepper, onions) and mashed potatoes. It came with chimichurri sauce which was so good. The steak was very tender and flavorful. The veggies were seasoned well and were prepared al dente which I prefer. It was so much food and I couldn't finish it all. I didn't have anything to drink besides water, but the drink menu featured specialty cocktails like the Caipirinha and the Caipiroska. They also offered other cocktails, wine, beer, and NA beverages. I don't know much about the Little Rock culinary scene, but I have to admit that I was pleasantly surprised to find this Argentinian restaurant. What a great discovery! read more

We absolutely loved the Buenos Aires Grill experience. This was our first time there and it appeared to be closed. I called on the phone and the entrance is actually downstairs. My partner was in using a walker healing from a compound fracture and could not do more than a couple stairs, the waiter was happy to accommodate us and bring up the service elevator. We arrived early and they were just setting up for the evening meal, but everyone was very attentive, and the food was amazing! read more

My wife and I shared the Buenos Aires mixed grill, and asked for grilled vegetables instead of the French fries. It came with a salad to share with a red wine vinegar dressing. The salad was very fresh with nice greens and tomatoes, and to my delight, no iceberg lettuce. All the meat was perfectly seasoned and cooked the right way. We ate as much as we could, but couldn't finish it. It was a great meal, and we each had a margarita with it. They were really good also. Mine was a blackberry with jalapeño. Our server was very sweet and took excellent care of us. Decor was pretty simple, but it's a casual place, so not a big deal, I care most about what I'm eating anyway. We finished with a quatro leches cake, which is like tres leches but drizzled with dulce de leche. It was outstanding. If you like meat, they don't mess around here. read more

This is a late review but well worth it. I was back home for a couple of days attending the Arkansas rural housing conference, and had an opportunity to have lunch at Buenos Aires Grill and Café while I was there. This was actually courtesy of a fantastic set of guys who lead an organization called Telegix that is changing the level of telecommunication services in the state. But, I digress, back to the review. The food was absolutely outstanding. And I was surprised to find out that this restaurant has been in downtown Little Rock for years. Somehow I missed it before, but that won't happen again. Now keep in mind when you walk in. you have to remember this is a lower level establishment so you descend down stairs into a courtyard and then into the front door where you are immediately greeted by a hostess. Because my group were regulars we had a separate table right upfront, but seating seem to be fairly brisk during a fairly crowded lunch hour. Because of the graciousness of my hosts, we were treated with an assortment of the empanadas and House made pastries and I cannot rave enough about how delicate, fresh and flaky each of the crusts were. This is a place that clearly knows how to make authentic Argentinian food and it showed across each of the items at the table. For lunch, I had the skirt steak with chimichurri and the rest of the table ordered a couple of the sandwiches with one of our members ordering the pasta dish. The food was brought out promptly and everything was made to order - fresh and hot. I also really appreciated the level of service as both our main server and the owner stopped by the table multiple times to check on our status. I can't say enough about the food and as a special treat, I decided to grab a apple empanada for a late dessert on my flight back as I was headed to the airport. Sure enough, I didn't eat it until the layover in Dallas and almost regretted it because I couldn't get back on the plane and go back to Little Rock to get another one. This is definitely a spot I would recommend if you are visiting in the downtown area and looking for high-quality Latin food with a home cooked vibe. read more

We started with bruschetta and the charcuterie plate. Both were a fail. Bread was soggy and flavor was just meh. The meats on the platter were kinda tough and cheeses felt like lunchable slices. Admittedly, the menu is pretty standard along the lines of Argentinian food, though I was a little disappointed by the amount of time it took for a waitress to come to the table, then for us to actually just get glasses of water at the table, and then for the food to come out afterwards. We had a party of five, and chose to share two of the platters that come with a variety of meats. Honestly, the french fries that came with them were probably my favorite part of the meal... They were crispy and yummy. The meat itself had very little flavor, and was overcooked and a bit chewy. Not a bad place if you want a variety, but I doubt I would visit again. read more

terrible, we ordered their fugazetta, by menu a kind of focacci, what arrives looks like a reated frozen onion cheese pizza for 15$! my wife had the grilled chicken (dry and tasteless) the veggies were soggy drenched in oil, ordered the chorizo for 7$ and got literally 1 roasted sausage, the fries were soggy as well. overall an awful experience , worst food i had in years, i just didn't throw it back into the kitchen since i was w my wife. read more

Last night in Little Rock and again was looking for something different. I was staying downtown. One of the restaurants that jumped out was Buenos Aires especially because they had empanada. Cmon I am a foodie After all. It's the simple things in life. It was a little difficult to find but this hidden gem did not disappoint. I started off with the empanadas and then had the flank steak with chimichurri sauce, mashed potatoes and grilled vegetable. Are you kidding me. Everything was amazing. Probably the best meal that I had in a while. Good portions and great flavors with everything that I ordered. Service was good. It was on par and I was happy with it. We got there a little after 12:20 on a Thursday and they were not busy at all. We ordered the Buenos Aires mixed grill medium and three empanadas, pulled pork, chicken and beef. The grill came with the two sides and we got the salad and fries. The salad was delicious and crisp. I love a vinegar forward dressing and it was perfect. The fries were hot and fresh. A really good homemade fry. The beef on the grill was pretty tough and we had it cooked medium. The flavor was good. The shrimp and the chicken were fantastic, the chimichurri sauce that comes with it is sour and delicious. Aye was our server. She was great. The restaurant was simply decorated and clean. $55 for mixed grill and $10 for three empanadas. read more

It was dinner time, and the first place we went to had an +1.5 hour wait, and so we decided to come here instead. we found street parking next to this restaurant and when we walked up, it was pretty weird since we didn't see much going on the first floor. We saw that the basement/bottom floor had lights and decided to walk down the steps and saw people sitting inside. We didn't make reservations, but was able to get seated quickly. We ended up getting the mixed grill: bueno aires which is more than enough food for two people, and it ended up costing us 52 bucks. It came with flank steak, skirt steak, bratwurst, chicken and shrimp. it also came with a nice house salad and some fries. We also asked for extra chimichurri sauce which was an extra cost. The best item was the flank steak pared with the chimichurri sauce. i also enjoyed the salad which was flavored with some sort of vinegar sauce, which helped counterbalanced the heavy meat dish. read more

Our waitress tried to upsell us a lot and we didn't give in and trusted our gut and we had more than enough food for the 5 of us. Although the corn bread was award winning, we didn't feel the same. Okaaaaay pop off, Little Rock! We were on a cross-country roadtrip and stopped in the area to visit friends for the night - they picked this restaurant (they're local foodies and highly recommended it) and the food did not disappoint. We ordered a few empanadas to try which were super tasty. What really blew me away though was the Mixed Grill. We ordered the Buenos Aires which lets you try a multitude of grilled meats and every single bite was delicious. We were stuffed. I would not be mad if this was in my local neighborhood. My husband and I had three empanadas, the Buenos Aires and the cuatro leches cake. The flank empanadas were very bland; the chicken one, while it had more flavor, tasted like Tex-Mex chicken and was cold; the cheese and onion were decent. We got more disappointed when the main dish came out. All the meat tasted like a char chemical taste. The chimichurri sauce missed the point for it to be a famous chimichurri sauce. Pleasant walk from the Hampton. Food was as good as meals I've eaten in South America. The salad was exceptionally fresh and had a VERY tasty tangy vinaigrette type light dressing. My only comments are there was no salt and pepper on the table, the Chimmichuri didn't have enough garlic and looked not to be freshly made with bright green parsley, and the Flan was more like cheesecake and the burnt sugar sauce that tops flan was very light almost like a cheap maple syrup. But my steak was done perfect and the fries are hand cut and very good!! And I also ordered a beef empanada and a Argentinian Chorizo and my whole bill was only $59. Let me preface this review by saying only 3 stars because I found a hair in my food. Yikes. I understand it happens but still a turn off for me. On the plus side- super cute patio with a lot of space. While this is nestled in the River Market entertainment district, the patio is downstairs (aka not on the Main Street). Ah such a cute little restaurant, my whole family left very happy. The service was so sweet and attentive , our waitress even got a water bowl for our dog. We ate outside because the weather was so nice and the heat lamps were adjusted accordingly for us. The Empanadas were well prepared. Each one was flavorful and crispy. In particular the spinach empanada stood out to me. The Vegetarian meal off the grill was very large. The plate of vegetables was beautifully prepared and delicious.
