I noticed the output of my 5 year old solar system had dropped slightly over the years, and figured it might be time to have the panels cleaned. I found Pressure Pros on Yelp, and reached out to them for a quote. Brendan, the owner, was one of the first to reply, and he said he had a cancellation and could come out that day, but I wanted to be home, so I scheduled for the following weekend. Brendan arrived promptly at the scheduled time, and immediately told me that from what he could see from street level, I might not need cleaning yet, but he offered to climb up to take a look. I truly appreciated this, as I really had no idea how long most people wait to clean their panels. After going up and taking photos, he told me it was up to me if I wanted to proceed or wait; I had some dust and sediment build up, but he said I could also wait if I wanted. I found this to be very ethical business practice, as most companies will do anything to convince you to give them your money. Ultimately, I decided to proceed, since this should restore me to full power production, and maybe I'll wait a few extra years, next time, to call him back for my next cleaning. I like that Brendan uses his own filtered water and power from his truck. His water is filtered through reverse osmosis, so it shouldn't leave any mineral deposits. He also has a special brush that won't scratch the panels. I asked if he recommends coating the panels with wax or other hydrophobic chemicals, and he said no, because they can slightly reduce the solar input, kind of like window tint. First off, Pressure Pros uses their own, reverse osmosis water for cleaning with no chemicals. This prevents water spots from forming on the glass panels. I've heard others use the residence's water for a cheaper price. First time cleaning my 27 PV panels since installed in 2015, so they were really dirty (see pics). I did notice a gradual PV production decrease over the years and recently the really dirty panels were getting only half of the daily production as the cleaner ones. Almost, 140 gallons of water(half his tank) was used to clean the panels and I'm glad it wasn't my water. Brendan was really professional and personable and answered all of my questions.
