Absolute garbage They do not do what they say they are going to do when they say they are going to do it. Very rude on the phone. Similar experience to the previous review. Old Republic Home Protection contacted Prestige to repair my refrigerator. They never called me to set an appointment. I finally got a hold of them and scheduled something. They came to my house said they knew what the problem was but needed to order parts. A week later they came back and said they couldn't access the back of my refrigerator to repair it because we'd need a contractor to remove it from the wall (I removed it myself in 5 minutes). The next day I got a call from Old Republic that Prestige Appliance asked to be removed as the vendor because they were not familiar with the model of my refrigerator. So it's been two weeks and my fridge is still broken because Prestige handled it so poorly. I wont get started on Old Republic here... but... the two seem to be made for each other. If I could give zero stars, I would. American home shield contacted them to fix our dishwasher which was clearly not working properly (funky film on dishes, not drying and making a terrible loud, high pitch whistling noise while in use). Now I don't claim to know much about dishwashers, but I have used them my entire life and knew this one wasn't working properly. The guy that came out did minimal to assess the situation before he told me that it was user error, gave me a cleaner and went on his merry way. I used his cleaner and took his suggestions when it came to loading before I finally got frustrated enough to call back and have him sent out to our house yet again. This time my husband was there... The same guy walked in, shook his head in disgust and said "there is no problem with your washer, it's user error!" Needless to say after him and my husband exchanged some choice words with one another the guy left, told us to read the book and again was far from helpful. We called AHS back to have a second opinion. After they sent out a secondary company it turns out our motor needed to be replaced... It wasn't user error after all (duh) and now our dishwasher works like a Charm. Do NOT use this company unless you like a rude repair man who makes you feel small in your home. I can't tell if this listing is actually for the same business that is affiliated with American Home Shield insurance as the numbers and location are differnet though the name is the same. In any case, to help others with AHS I will go ahead and post. After looking at the reviews I was afraid this would be a nightmare. However, I had one previous experience for my HVAC with an AHS contracted company that had 1 star reviews and ended up being okay, so I hoped for the best. I had an issue with a leaky washer. I called the company to schedule after AHS gave me the #. That was easy, and they ended up calling the day of the appointment and asking if they could come 2 hours early which worked for me. The technician was nice and answered all my questions and for the most part took care to make sure I understood what he was describing. He took my washer apart and ran it. The problem was not replicated until he stopped and restarted the dial mid-cycle. He concluded that there was nothing wrong with the machine and that the leak could only be caused by changing the dial mid-wash or an unbalanced load. It seemed reasonable. Then I mentioned I had a dishwasher issue too, and he quickly took a look at it and determined that it was also just a matter of where i positined the dial...which again seemed legit. In this case, no repair work actually was done but I felt pretty confident that he had inspected and assessed the washer throughly and correctly. He also said that we had a 2 month warranty from the date of service if something goes wrong. That suits me fine since my AHS expires in a few days. Anyway, i'd say it's worth the $75 having these come out and take a look. My thought is that AHS is a pretty unpopular company and people who have bad experiences make it known on the Yelp sights of their contractors. There are a lot of reviews about things not being covered by AHS.... From other AHS policy holders I've talked to... if it's a cheap easy fix then AHS is fine, but if you need a whole new fridge or something...they will go to the ends of the Earth to make you want to give up and just buy it yourself. I bought a washer off of them last year 10/13/14 , I called them and they sound like they don't even care to fix the problem . To fix a part they're charging me more than what I paid for for the washer it's self ! I paid 350 and they're charging me more than that . I rather get a washer from Sears now that they're having a sale on them for nearly that same price together with warranty on it that can last me longer!! read more

I'm only giving four stars cus they moved on me. I came here Saturday looking for appliances. I saw a stove and fridge I wanted (eventually bought another fridge elsewhere) the guy was really cool and helpful. Sent my husband back to buy the stove, we were suppose to meet at the place and they had moved down the street,, yea that was a quick move but it is t a bigger spot....I got the stove I wanted for a good price and a washer and dryer, they came the same day and in the rain to set it up. Hopefully they work well but it was a good experience nonetheless... read more

My husband and I bought a fridge and after 2 months it didn't work anymore my husband call the guy so he can fix the fridge and he came to see it my husband was explaining to him that he had change a part on the fridge that cost us $100 dollars! The guy was very rude telling my husband that it was our fault that the fridge didn't work because supposedly him we left the door of the fridge open and my husband said we did not leave the door open the guy got more rude and told my husband r u going to tell me how to do my job u are going to tell me im wrong! The guy supposedly was going to replace the fridge for a new one the next day and guess what we call him and never answer we call him so many times and nothing! Worse place ever! Horrible company from start to finish. American Home Shield contacted them as a vendor to come out and fix my dishwasher. Never called to set up an appointment. When AHS called to set it up, they showed up late. Serviceman rude and told me that I must have punched the dishwasher in order to break the plastic pad coverings on my touchpad! Really???... I also had a contract through AHS for repairs on my appliances. This company has come out numerous times and they have been rude and also accused us of doing something to appliances to cause the repair. The last draw was the service person scheduled appt. with me on a Friday between 4-6 p.m. to fix washer. I took off time from work to be home between 4-6pm. I waited until 10 min. after 6:00 pm needed to leave to take husband to hospital. Never received a phone call from the service person saying he was on his way and going to be late. Instead at 6:17pm I received a call from the service person stating he was at my house. He proceeded to state that I should have called him if I was leaving and I told him he should have called me if he was going to be late. I ask to reschedule and he said call Monday. I called Monday and he proceeded to tell me that he was not going to come out again since he wasted gas and time to come out and I was not there. He told me to contact the insurance to get another vendor to do the repair. This company should not be given any contract work for AHS. GS read more
