So when we got to florida they said we need another 6000 to get us into something else and that thier garage does not work on cars once thier brought,(which is not what he told us when we were in Connecticut),he gave me a card for a mechanic, called them but they couldn't get us in for a week and who knows how long they would have it.so we couldn't afford hotels for that long.so they sold us a truck that only lasted for two days before mayor problems and wanted nothing to do with us after.shame on you Eric,you had us spend another 700 hundred for the trip for nothing. read more

I have a friend who has bad credit so I decided to co-sign for her so she could get a good use car. We ended up getting a 2009 Toyota RAV4 which was in very good condition on December 12th, 2023. This review is not for the vehicle but for the dealership - Prestige Auto in Ocala Florida - who sold it to us. The price for the RAV4 was a little higher than we wanted to pay but the salesman told us it included a two year warranty. As it turned out the two year warranty was an additional 2,224.00 dollars. I was supposed to be the co-signer and my friend the buyer. The dealership put me down as the buyer and my friend as the co-signer. They put my friend's address as my address when she has her own home. This was all done so the application would go through without my consent to do so. The salesman had us sign the paperwork - several pages, but gave them and took them away from us - after we signed them - so fast that we did not have time to read them. That was our fault for not reading them. The print is so small anyway. We did not get any paperwork the day we bought the RAV4, but we were told they would be emailed to both of us. That seamed weird to me but we agreed to it. That night I got an email from the dealership with a link to click and it did not work. So the next day I called the dealership to complain about not getting the paperwork and was told Mike the salesman would call me back. Two hours later and no call. So I called back and told them I was coming to the dealership to pick up the paperwork. In the meantime I read a review on this website where the woman reviewer said that the warranty scam happened to her, so I made sure I went through the paperwork at the dealership while I was there and sure enough I was charged the extra 2,224.00 for the warranty. When I complained to the manager he got rude and said he had enough of me. When I mentioned that my friend the buyer was listed as the co-signer and had my address, he said he would check on it in his office. When I went to go into his office he told me to stay out. Later he told me to come in. I guess my only options are live with it or to sue for damages - 2,224.00 plus lawyer expenses. So I give Prestige Motors two stars out of five only because the RAV4 seems to be in great shape. Otherwise I would give the dealership a big ZERO. read more

Prestige advertises that they will buy your car. I sold them my 2012 F-150 today and I can honestly say that they were friendly, quick with the check and paperwork, and fair. Here's the story: I recently bought a new truck to replace my 2012 truck. I put the old truck on the market and received quite a bit of interest over the course of a week (fielded several calls, showed it three times, and received 2 bona fide offers). I'm a lawyer with my own practice and fooling around with selling a truck is not the best use of my time, though. I figured I'd see what Prestige would offer me and then sell it to the highest offer over Prestige's offer just to get this job done. Well, Prestige made a really strong offer in line with the "private party" value of my truck and more than the highest bona fide offer I'd received. Bear in mind that my truck was very clean, so your own mileage may vary (Word to the wise: Take care of your stuff). I was in and out within an hour with check in hand. They even drove me home. In the brief time I was there, the owner (Chris) came out and we had a pleasant non-car chat. Super nice guy. This was a great experience. Hopefully this is my last automotive transaction for a while (life circumstances dictated quite a few recently), but I ended on a high note. read more

Avoid this place at all costs. The salesman was really nice, when it came down to talking about numbers the sales manager got involved, Dan, and he was very pushy. Dan tried to lie about the numbers, and when we questioned him about it not adding up, he became very frustrated and made rude comments. When it came down to if we are taking his offer, we said no, and he stormed out before we could even get up. I've bought every car I've ever owned from prestige and never got treated like this. BEWARE THIS DEALERSHIP IS CORRUPT AND SHADY NEVER BUY A CAR HERE!! I recently purchased a 2013 Chevy cruze ls that was advertised on their website as having all the features of the lt model including a backup camera, parking assist, rear parking sensors, cruise control, and several other features that they confirmed with me directly that the car had that i found out it didnt have after buying. The blue book on the car advertized is 8-10k so i thought 8k was a fair asking price and was disappointed when they said there was nothing to do about the price and that they paid 8700 for it and are already losing money since its the upgraded model. All of that i was able to deal with so here is the unforgivable, corrupt, shady part of the exchange - originally i put 1100 down and was going to pick it up ans pay it off the next day after they got it ready and when i came back i told them i was going to finance it and pay it this month and wanted to put another 2500 towards it. So after already signing the bill of sale for 8800 after dealer fee and fees, he said he just had to reprint it with the updated down payment and have me ressign really quick and had it folded so i could only see the car price and started talking about something else as i was looking. Since i was so unhappy with the price and that the car had 2 dents and tons of scratches, they came to me after signing the second bill of sale and said that they were 'able to get me' an extended 2 year warranty at least so if anything goes wrong under warranty to bring it in and explained how she said she had to pull strings to get me that warranty and that was the end of it. Come to find out they charged me an EXTRA $2000 for the extended warranty that they said they were giving me and never once mentioned it costing extra or even asked if i wanted it!! They intentionally and meticulously tricked me into not only paying twice what the blue book for the car it ended up being, but as soon as they learned that i wasnt paying in full, they schemed and took advantage of me and intentionally screwed me over and made it where i can no longer pay off the loan and have to pay an extra 2k in finance charges before i get it paid off. So after all is said and done i ended up paying $1400 for a dented scratched up car thats worth $4000 max given its condition. And just to add insult to injury, they took me for an extra $100 that they didnt even bother to trick me into signing for, and i intend on getting back since i have receipts for $3600 and the bill of sale says 3500 down. It took me 2 weeks to even figure out that they took me for an extra 2k, a quarter of what i already paid for the overpriced car and told me they were "throwing it in" and when i was trying to figure out why my loan statement was 2k more than what i initially and knowingly signed for and was passed around to a million different people and not one of them could tell me what the extra 2k was for. Not to mention they were incredibly rude and after screwing me over, didnt even attempt to buff out some of the smaller scratches which was such a simple.request and costs them nothing so they just told me that they buffed them when they clearly didnt even try and when i confronted them about it in person they tried telling me that there were a lot more scratches. Honestly i wouldnt even be that upset or bother to try to warn ppl about this place if they didnt take me for an extra 2k in the sneakiest, greasiest way possible. Looking back i can see exactly how hard they worked and how meticulous they were about tricking me. I went in day one thinking i was paying a total of $8800 for a car thats worth 8-10k and ended up paying $1450 for a car worth 4k at best. NEVER GO HERE AND MAKE SURE NOBODY YOU KNOW DOES EITHER. read more

As a domestic violence and cancer survivor over a decade, my credit was at no credit; I had been getting by in not opening any credit accounts or living within my means very frugally until my family's safety became an issue again and a car was necessary almost as soon as I was able to go back to full time employment. There were many hassles and obstacles in the car acquiring journey untill I called Prestige, located near family as well. Everyone was friendly and behaved as part of a team, unlike other dealerships. With my current credit, options were limited, but the options were better at this location. I didn't get the car I wanted simply because it wasn't part of their inventory then and I was on a scary time limit. What I got was a good-running car priced somewhat considerably over market value, though the terms and service were what closed the deal. I hope as soon as enough payments have been made I can trade in a reliable car for a favorite car, the former of which I'm appreciating and taking good care of in the meanwhile. Don't shop here, they are very deceptive from the minute they approach you. To start I questioned the sales price on the window, the sales girl said the price includes a three year warranty, don't be mislead like us, the price does not include the warranty, when you complete the sale and sign the final papers you discover they make you buy a warranty for $1500 to complete the finance arrangements. And the warranty does not cover the costs of many repairs, I had my car one day, it wouldn't start, they put a used battery in and passed it off as a new battery, a week later I had to have it towed from Tampa, two weeks later I discovered two broken motor mounts, broken bushings, broken steering, broken oil sensor, this from a car they claimed was gone over with a fine tooth comb before being put on their lot. One week later the engine blew, it had to be towed again. The dealership pays for nothing, stands behind nothing, the warranty only covers the engine up to $2300 saying this is the value of the car even though the sticker price of the car was $6900. The warranty company can set the value of the car which is considerably less than the repairs Now the manager says the sticker price is set by the lien holder, the bank and they take a huge fee out for loaning you the money. Very deceptive. Do they tell you up front they are selling the car for $6900 to cover the lien holder fee even though it's only worth $2400. NO , They passed this car off as a car in good condition with a warranty that covers all major parts. The warranty does not cover the cost of major parts.. Their response is that they can't be responsible for all the cars once they leave their lots, they couldn't stay in business that way. You buy AS IS. So BUYER BEWARE. I would not recommend buying a car from this company. read more
