Sorry as nice as one dentist there was to me I cannot recommend this place. I complained about tooth pain for over 2 years. They kept telling me to brush and floss better as my gums by my molar were in bad shape. After 2 years of complaining, they said the gums had deteriorated and the tooth offed to be removed and sent me to a dental surgeon associated with the practice. I get to the other practice and they diagnose me with a wisdom tooth that was still growing and pushing on all my teeth upper teeth, which in turn was pressing the entire bottom row and shifting them whenever I chewed. Because of that, I had to get the wisdom tooth removed. No big deal. However, as a result of lie extensive damage it caused to my lower teeth, I had to get a root canal and an implant, totalling over $3000. The negligence of Prestige Dental is inexcusable. A simple tooth extraction covered under my insurance would've fixed everything if it were properly diagnosed in the first place. Instead 2 years later and $3000, I cannot and will not return here. read more

I am a patient person. I don't usual write reviews. That is how awful this clinic is. The one person I liked, Dr Park, no longer works there and I have to wonder why. To make my point, I will outline each and every negative experience I have had with this clinic. 1) I needed a root canal that my insurance would not cover. The very first time I came here, I asked the receptionist if she knew of any alternative options for me. Her response was, very seriously, and I quote, "You can pay." 2) This clinic has two locations. One on Kissena Blvd and one on Cherry Ave. Not a single person told me this until I arrived at Kissena Blvd, ready for my appointment, only to find the clinic was closed. When I called the clinic, the receptionist was again very rude and was completely unapologetic about never having informed me of the second location. 3) The first time I saw Dr Jhaveri, he made me while he chatted with a friend for a good ten minutes. He saw me for two minutes and sent me home with another appointment, saying that we'll wait to hear if the insurance will cover a crown or such for my root canal. The second time I saw him, he spoke to me again for two minutes, showed me a video about veneers, and tried to sell them to me as an option. The video lasted longer than my conversation with him. 4) I called the clinic on March 31st at 1:51pm and was told that my appointment had been set for today, April 12th at 3pm. I arrived at the clinic today, only to be told I did not have an appointment. The receptionist, different from before but also completely unhelpful, sat back and did nothing. I had to ask her to look up my name. I had to ask her to check the other days. I had to tell her the exact date and time I called to schedule my appointment before she would believe me. It turns out that there was a record of my call, but it was a Saturday and the clinic closes at 1pm on Saturdays. So whoever took my appointment should not have been there (?!!). Apparently the doctor who was supposed to be there today was called away on an emergency, so there was no one to see me anyway. I stormed out of the clinic absolutely furious. I have never had an experience like this with any other clinic ever in my life. I am never going back there and I strongly recommend that you avoid this place at all costs. read more

I believe they have two offices, one in Flushing, another one elsewhere. The one in Flushing is stationed by a female doctor, who I believe is not Dr Jhaveri himself. When I was there, I was the only one waited in the waiting room and the female doc didnt notice me was there. I could hear her scolding one of their receptionist pretty harshly over something(I m refraining to detail here...). So, I waited 15min or so, scolding wasnt stopping, so I coughed...then the doctor stopped and came out... Sorry for side tracking a bit on a small story...well, the important stuff are the Dental equipment are kinda old and run-down, the fountain that used to rinse our mouth after procedure was broken...so I had to rinse mine using water from a washing sink... For the procedure itself, I came for an annual teeth cleaning, the other place I used to go while I was living elsewhere took abt 30min or more, this time it took abt less than 15min. So, that says abt the quality of their work...Then after I came home, I checked myself in the mirror, I saw some uneven stain marks are still there... First time will be my last time. I believe this office is new. The staff didn't seem very experienced but they were nice. I went there for a standard cleaning. Since it was my first time they told me to get xrays and before the cleaning. That was fine. 1st bad experience - The cleaning. Next was the cleaning by Dr. Viren Jhaveri. Everytime he talked to me he was smiling like he was trying to convince me of something. His answers were all directed to try to be slightly comical. However when it came to my teeth I'm not sure that he really cared. Gave me the fastest and painful cleaning ever. Took him about 3 minutes with that sharp water pick to clean my teeth. He was going over my teeth so fast I don't think he was bothering to contour his movements around my gums and was just sliding right over them in a straight line over my gums. Kept doing it and just kept asking uselessly if I was ok periodically. After 3 minutes he was finished and I said that was pretty quick and my teeth didn't really feel clean. He responded by giving me a mirror to look at my own teeth and asked "do you see any plaque?". He told me I had a cavity and needed to schedule an appointment to come back in like 2 weeks to get in filled by the person that does the filling. I didn't like the fact that I had to come back to get my fillings done and on top of that my first experience was pretty bad so far. So I decided to find another dentist and have them do my cavity filling. The experience at the new dentist office was day and night. Now the new dentist office said they would require my xrays from prestige to see if I had cavities that only the xray could pick up. I said ok, I'll get them from prestige. -The aftermath: Getting xrays Called about 7 times before I actually got someone to send me the xrays and each time got placed on hold for 3-5 minutes and took me about 2-3 days to complete this simple task. At first when I called they told me they would send it to me the next day... I didn't get anything the next day. This happened probably two more times. Didn't even bother sending me the emails so I had to kept calling them back and each time was put on a 3-5 minute hold. When I finally got someone to actually send me something, it was sent to the wrong address, called again, got placed on hold, then sent it again, except this time no xrays! So I called again and finally got it. Writing this was tiring ... imagine doing it. Its not that hard.... just send me my xrays to my email address!! To wrap my opinion about Prestige Dental... there is nothing prestigious about it. They do sub-par service with absolutely no customer care. They need to up their professionalism but I don't see that happening with Dr. Viren Jhaver read more

My spouse and children have been going to Prestige Dental for many years. Dr. Jhaveri has been our primary dentist for about 20 years. He has taken care of our fillings, crowns, implants, cleanings, etc. Dr. Jhaveri does excellent work, he really takes his time to listen to your dental concerns, and he has a funny sense of humor which is nice. We highly recommend Prestige Dental. The office staff is always friendly, there is a parking spot for patients at the Cherry Ave location in Flushing, and appointments are not hard to get. After reading many successful online reviews I contacted Dr. Jhaveri and was able to get an appointment the same day. He and his staff were very warm and welcoming. The office is clean and has very modern equipment. I was amazed at the crystal clear images he displayed of my teeth on the TV screen. He explained diagnosis and treatment thoroughly and clearly. In two visits he removed a wisdom tooth and replaced a broken crown with no pain. He ensured I was comfortable the entire time. Highly recommended. I will be recommending him to my family. read more

Below is my parent's experience: Both me and my husband went to this dentist yesterday. After the lady took X-ray, she told my husband that only he can do the tooth cleaning. I was confused because I never do the tooth cleaning this year and my insurance should cover that. Then I called my daughter who made the appointment for us, after she talks to the "Dental Hygienist". The "Dental Hygienist" told her that when she make the appointment she should tell front desk that they are need to do the tooth cleaning. Anyway, the Dental Hygienist agreed to give both of us the tooth cleaning. Stared from here, it my worst tooth cleaning I had ever in my life. First, The "Dental Hygienist" give us bad attitude because we don't speak good English. Second, she didn't even cleaning the entire teeths, only some single teeths and plus she only spend 5 minutes to clean the teeths for each of us. i had an initial appointment with dr viren jhaveri in the latter part of february and foolish me did not do my due diligence in checking out his reputation beforehand. my previous dentist who was a gem of a dentist was forced into retirement as a result of illness. i explained to him that my prior dentist accepted as full payment whatever the insurance company compensated him with. i do not argue that it was his prerogative to agree or not agree to those terms. however what is unacceptable is doing a very quick exam of my teeth, doing a "cleaning" which lasted all of perhaps 2-3 minutes and then told me he was going to submit a predetermination request from my insurance company to do a replacement of 2 caps. he never did submit anything. in retrospect he obviously decided not to take me on as a patient. i'm certainly ok with that and in hindsight glad he did not after that cleaning which was no cleaning to speak of and the audacity to make me believe he was submitting for approval work to be done on my teeth is disgusting. some of his previous yelp reviews speak for themselves. read more

I came here a few months ago because of a chipped molar. Dr. Jhaveri examined my teeth and said I needed a root canal to save the broken tooth which would cost close to $2000 (out of pocket). He said if I don't want to spend the money I could have the tooth extracted which would be 100% covered by my insurance. After I said I will need to think about it, he had his assistant take a panoramic X-ray (regular X-ray was already taken earlier). Later I found out from my friend's cousin who's a dentist that it isn't necessary to do panoramic x-ray, especially since I already told Jhaveri that I need to think about it. It turns out that my insurance doesn't cover panoramic X-rays yearly, so it shouldn't have be done unless absolutely necessary since $$$ for insurance company. The only pro about his office is the receptionist (Vanity) was nice, and she did email me my X-rays the same day I requested them. Fast forward a week later, I went to my friend's cousin who is a dentist for 2nd opinion, she said she would be able clean and patch up the tooth without resorting to a root canal. She also informed me I had a couple of small cavities, and asked if Jhaveri told me about them. HE DID NOT! Wtf? How does a dentist examine my teeth and not tell me about the other issues? Especially when he did two sets of X-rays! The second dentist was able to clean and patch up my chipped tooth, and it been holding in place for few months now. Dr Jhaveri is money hungry and doesn't care about his patients. Not telling me about the other cavities is unethical! Stay away!!! Don't trust the positive reviews; they are probably from the dentist's family and friends since they are left by Indians with only 1-2 reviews on their account. Beware of Jhaveri! I wish there was an option to give them zero stars because that's just how horrible they are. Everybody in that dentist office is incompetent and very rude and nasty. For starters, I had initially did a review in his office the second time I visited because Dr. Jhaveri insisted before he took care of me. But I did it and clearly I should have waited until after the services. He told me I needed a root canal because the cavity was too deep only to find out later I really could've just received a filling and been fine. I had to pay out of pocket 1800 after he told me he would work with me with pricing due to me being a college student and having to pay the whole amount by myself. The first day he told me the cost he says get it down today and I told him I have to talk to one of my parents to see if they could give me $600 because he only allowed me 3 payments of $600 no other way around it. As I'm walking out he tells the hygienist that I'm broke and that if I didn't want the services I shouldn't have came. Excuse me? That's unbelievably rude but again I didn't say anything. Called my dad he sent me the money because I had been in so much pain, I walk back in he's still talking about me and how college kids don't take care of their teeth. I was literally appalled but I still went ahead because I desperately needed the work done. Let's fast forward to after I get the root canal after a span of a month because everytime I made an appointment and would come they would tell me I didn't make the appointment for the day. I ended up going to another country with a temp filling. He receives all the payments then proceeds to tell me one of my other teeth is going to need a root canal is 6 years. I cannot make this up. I ran out of the office so fast because at this point I felt like he was just trying to mess up my teeth. Told me I had no cavities but when I went to my now dentist he told me I had one. If I would've stayed at the same office that tooth would've most likely turned into a root canal because the cavity was there for so long. All in all worst experience ever. Truly unprofessional, he talks to all his workers like they are beneath him and it's truly disgusting. Please don't go here. read more
