We met with Blue Best late in 2024 to discuss our concern with air temps in our house, specifically temps in our living room and kitchen, which have high ceilings and southern exposure and become uncomfortably hot in summer. We were very clear about our concern, and the salesperson spent hours assessing our home and assured us his proposed system would solve the problem. We accepted the ~$14,000 bid to install a heat pump solution based on that assurance. By summer 2025, the living room and kitchen were still too hot on most sunny days. Despite many service visits and repeated adjustments (baffles, registers, fan speeds, etc.), the issue was never resolved. Blue Best ultimately stated the system was operating as designed and implied the problem was with our home, not their installation.  In our opinion, Blue Best is very good at selling a solution, but not so good at ensuring that solution meets what the customer needs. Two independent HVAC contractors opined: -Our ductwork is in good condition. -The thermostat, furnace, and compressor Blue Best installed were not properly matched. -Basic industry-standard load calculations (e.g., Manual J) were apparently not done, which would have shown the system was undersized for our home's layout, windows, and sun exposure. Blue Best has declined to remove the system or refund our payment, instead relying on fine print in the contract. We are now pursuing legal options. We have since spent ~$12,000 on a mini-split system from another contractor, which works as intended. Based on our experience, we cannot recommend Blue Best and would strongly advise others to look elsewhere.

They had done an assessment accounting 2 possible options: replace the 2 pipes and elbow over 4 hrs or replace the entire pipe network. the technician was very nice and was willing to talk through everything. Ultimately, after getting the quotes, I could not go with them. I was well aware of the parts needed, and material costs however, when they showed me the quotes, there was a large disparity between what was shown on the screen initially for the 2 pipe fix and then five minutes later it was showing an additional zero on the end. I don't know if that was on purpose or not, but it threw up the red flag for me. In order to better assess, I had asked them to break out the material costs from the labor rates and overhead so that I could see an honest quote. The technician called the owner who immediately had dropped the price down which while that would seem reasonable automatically through another red flag due to having that much overhead built in. The owner, of course, pushed back, saying, nobody would ever provide an overhead rate, but I know better. They had discussed over the phone attempting to break out the material costs which he then gave me the total, but did not show it on the screen, however, I do take this as more honest than most companies would be. Ultimately there were enough red flags for me to wait and I'm glad I did because I was able to get Pitcher, plumbing out to do the work the next day and the entire job cost the exact same as the material cost quoted by rare breed. I will say I did receive another quote that was far more outrageous than what I received from rare breed, but it's still not acceptable. All this tells me in the end is that there is a large disparity between these plumbing companies, providing reasonable costs and honest rates is rare. But there are companies like pitcher plumbing that have been around for 40+ years and still provide reasonable costs and do a fantastic job. I feel bad for people that continue to be taken advantage of.

The tech called and said it would be $850 plus $95 service fee so I called a friend who owns a company 150 miles away and said what should this cost to have my unit cleaned . He said $99-$175! ‍ So I put on Facebook any recommendations and got a one man show company that came and cleaned for $99 and no service charge fee. ‍‍‍ I do have to say when I called SOS to cancel my appointment to repair they waived the service charge fee after looking at my scenario so the company does have some good employees.

I just purchased my furnace less than a year ago and it quit working on one of the hottest days in Salt Lake. I called for service on Friday and was told that the soonest they would be able to get someone out would be Monday. Leaving me to either have to spend additional money that should be covered under warranty or wait until Monday with temperatures expected to be over 100 all weekend. Incredibly horrible customer service. I would definitely not recommend them to anyone as they will leave you to fend for yourself after giving them thousands of dollars for a new unit.

Teasha is hvac not an electrician however she could get someone to come out for 260.00 to 777.00 (?) to access what's going on. Mark Cemensky arrived and stated there's no power to unit. He checked the breaker box & advised me that with 3 major appliances, the 100 amp box is basically maxed out. The recommendation is to upgrade to 200 amp box inside, new box outside, wire & permit for 10158.00 & that would get the a/c working today as it needs a 2 pull & there isn't one available. I tried reaching the homeowner with no avail. The homeowner is out of town & me not understanding what's going on. I asked Mark if this is pretty regulated or do I need to start calling around to see if I can save $. Mark replied it's pretty regulated. (Must be a master electrician to do this job) Mark could get a/c up & running today however, he's leaving tomorrow afternoon to go out of town for the weekend. Feeling out of options - I ended up signing to have work done. It took over a week to receive anything with pricing & unfortunately non specific. Meanwhile, the homeowner needs details. Needless to say, we won't be completing the job. 4200.00 for new 200 amp box & 2 breakers my cost from Lowes is 250.00 best I can tell. Bottom line - don't rush - get 3 estimates
