I chose Knighton Plumbing based on recommendations that they're honest, even though their prices are on the higher end--I'm happy to pay more to support a trustworthy business. I called Thursday morning with a mainline backup, meaning no showers, toilets, laundry, or dishwasher use. They couldn't come until Friday, which I accepted. Friday morning, I called for an ETA, only to learn they'd canceled my appointment entirely (no reschedule) to handle an emergency for a large client (Salt Lake Airport). They didn't offer evening Friday or Saturday service--just canceled. I ended up waiting until Monday for another plumber (from another company), adding three more days without any water use in the house. I understand prioritizing major clients, but abruptly dropping a residential customer in a true emergency isn't acceptable. They should have made it work, even if late Friday or early Saturday. While I appreciate the honesty reputation, I strongly advise against calling them for anything urgent. read more

In all fairness, they do good work and the plumbers are professional and competent. However, my experience after calling them for 3 issues is they over-commit to service requests and leave you hanging not knowing if they will ever do the work. I had to hound them to get them to my house. Otherwise, they have no apparent concern for whatever urgency you might have. Bottom line, if you call them, force them to commit to a specific time/date to complete the work and if they won't, then contact another plumber. Jason and Carter (father and son, family-owned local business) could not have been better. We woke up to cold showers and called to schedule their service around noon. By 4 pm, Jason and Carter showed up, provided us several options, gave us an honest and fair opinion and recommendation, and were finished in less than three hours. Years ago I called Knighton Plumbing at 9pm on Sunday night to fix my botched do-it-yourself pressure regulator replacement. It was an after hours, unscheduled call and at the time only added $50.00 to the bill. I thought that was very reasonable indeed. I have been very pleased with the price and work of Knighton Plumbing from replacing the faucets for my cloths washer, replacing my water heater, fixed toilet, and installing an exterior sump pump. Mr. Jason Knighton has always freely provided professional advice and helped me save money when he could have been like other dishonest plumbers (Smedlys) and recommended work that didn't need to be done. On the time Jason was scheduled to fix a toilet issue for me, he brought one of is young sons with him. He had asked if it would be okay as his wife wasn't able to watch him at the time. I thought it was a little weird but don't blame Jason even if he was a little distracted on the repairs he was doing. read more

After trying a few different plumbing companies, our family found Knighton, and have been using them for a few years now. Everything from snaking out roots from the sewer line to replacing the main water supply line from the street into the house. They are not necessarily cheap, but we feel their prices are fair, and we know we are receiving quality service. They take the time to answer questions we have regarding what HAS to be done, and what could be done to prevent issues down the road and value our input regarding the work that is being done. Kelly was very professional and knowledgeable in his work. He came by to fix my heater and expansion tank. Unfortunately, our rental property had to cancel the job due to a warranty issue. It was very unfortunate to have wasted his time, his company and mines as well, and as frustrating as this situation was for me and my family, he was very professional and became concerned for us. Excellent sameday service! Called at 730am about leaky kitchen plumbing and new sink disposal replacement. Arrived at 930am and was done by 11am. Repairman was very respectful, professional and quick to diagnose and repair. No upcharge for installing a new disposal that I previously purchased from Costco. Cost of leak fix and install was a bargin compared with my original DIY intentions and likely failures and frustrations. These guys are fantastic. We needed a water heater replaced that was under warranty through Lowe's. Knighton pulled the old one out and took it to Lowe's with me so I could get it exchanged. The work they did was perfect. I only wished we had bought the first one from them. I also needed a cartridge replaced in the tub. There was a cheap Chinese knock off cartridge in there. It took the guys a couple extra hours with specialty pullers to get it out. Everything works great now and the price, service and professionalism can't be beat. I tried to call on Tuesday afternoon, nobody answers. I leave a message but hey you guessed it no call. I prefer giving business to local companies but when I give you two days to show and I get nada, no call, no show up, no help at all. We had an emergency water heater need. Our old one had exploded the prior day after business hours. We used Yelp to find reviews. We are glad we found Knighton! We were going to have it repaired but Kelly checked into the matter and showed us a few more problems we had not expected. Upon further investigations we found the tank to be quite corroded, full of gunk, and in for more costly repairs. Probably within the same week it was so bad. So as soon as we made the decision to replace the entire system he called Matt to see if he was able to help. He came right away from another job. What would've been a short repair turned out to be more than we or they knew. They were very friendly throughout and spent the entire afternoon helping us. They have customers for life with us. Our 14-year old 40-gallon water heater started to leak Friday evening. Found Knighton Plumbing on here and saw the great reviews. Called and scheduled a replacement for Monday. Jason showed up on time. He gave me several options and was very straightforward about the replacement. Unlike other plumbers, he wasn't pushing hard to upswell us on anything else. He had multiple options and we picked out what worked best for us. A new 50-gallon water heater with new expansion tank. An upgraded gas delivery pipe to cope with the less-than-stellar natural gas we have in Utah. And some earthquake straps. All in all it came to just over $1700. A better price than what the plumbers who advertise on the radio give. And without all the high-pressure to up sell us on something else. Jason was very friendly. He had brought along a new employee and was teaching him how to properly replace the water heater. They were both very professional.
