At first The old lady who answered the call, was rude, and did not want to help me. But after a brief chat She asked for me the for the brand name, when I told her it was GE filtration system that needed to be installed under the kitchen sink she still sounded clueless. She said she needed to send someone for $175 dollars visit fee to evaluate the job to be done. When finally she gave me a price quote; she said it would cost me $885 dollars for the new water filter installation. Bear in mind that I already bought the filtration small unit at Home Depot. The connection consist of two hoses. For that price I would rather watch a video in youtube and do it myself. The job should not take more than 20 minutes. This is the problem with plumbers nowadays, car mechanics and handy men alike in general. I feel like they just came out of prison and they are like predators; Just like judges, politicians, doctors are nowadays. When I look for a plumbing business I want to know how much he charges per hour? References? Experience? Reputation? Ethics and Moral character? and the way they treat the customer. I just did a google search on the state of Florida website and discovered that the new owner is Charles Barr and his license has been revoked since 2022 for failing to file a state report. Called me late morning to confirm and showed up at the time promised. Was in and out in under 30 minutes with my issue fixed and area cleaned up.
