Don't do it. At least not in Florida. See other reviews regarding solar in Florida. The incentives just aren't there. Sure they are professional, and you feel good about going solar but you will not make money on the deal. In Maryland it was a no brainer with incentives and credits. Here you will stuck with an expensive Loan plus FPS lobbied and won to make you pay a set fee. If you are going to shell out for a battery... and go independent.. maybe .. maybe but otherwise just say no. Don't be fooled. It's not really FPS's fault... but they make you feel you are getting a great deal, you aren't, you will almost for certain lose much more then you expect for the entirety of your loan. It is a Florida state issue. But unless you can change the states laws to support greener energy, you will lose a lot of money. But fpl does have a decent deal on buying credits within their own ground solar (interesting right...) currently though looks the best chance of saving any money. read more

If I could give zero stars, I would. My experience with PES Solar has been an absolute nightmare. They installed solar panels on my 17-year-old roof, and now I have leaks EVERYWHERE. When I bought the panels, the sales guy and Austin specifically told me I could have the panels removed and reinstalled one time at no charge if needed. Now that I'm trying to do exactly that, they are REFUSING to honor their promise and want to charge me $15,000! This company is dishonest, and they are clearly only interested in making money, not in standing behind their product or promises. It has been one issue after another, and I deeply regret ever going with PES Solar. I have since spoken with numerous other customers who have had the exact same problems--leaks, broken promises, and outrageous costs to fix their mistakes. I've also learned that PES Solar has multiple lawsuits against them for similar issues. If you value your home and your money, STAY AWAY from this company. I wish I had done more research before going with them because this has been a costly and frustrating experience. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere for your solar needs! read more

DON'T DO IT. They lie, and lie, and lie. We've had our system for a year now and this billing cycle is the first one where our system generated more kWH than we used. Over the past 11 months we have been paying $59.00 MORE per month than we were before PES installed the system. The numbers they gave us about our projected savings, based on past usage, are pure fiction. The sales rep also told us that we'd be receiving a check back from the Federal Government to offset the cost - but it was a lie. The terms of the note change in a few months, and then, under the best circumstances, we'll be paying $116 more a month than we did before PES got us. Don't believe a word they say. And when we contacted them to tell them that the system was under-performing, we received a snippy email reply saying "that's not something we can fix." We are seniors on a fixed income and thought, based on their lies, that this would save us money and help the environment, too. Instead, they told us what they thought we wanted to hear, and now we'll be paying on this loan until we die. Just DON'T DO IT and avoid this company. Documentation to support my claims is available upon request. UPDATE: After several days of dealing with the "new" head of customer service, and sending PES 19 Duke Energy bills to support our claims, Alex Kennard, who claims to be the General Manager, "generously" offered to give us two free additional panels if we would purchase a third at $2200.00. The initial installation was 37 panels. 37 times $2200 is $81,400, which is a lot more than we paid for the entire system, so Mr. Kennard's kind offer was nothing more than an attempt to con us out of more money, not to "give" us something free. read more

PES Solar is by the far the best choice anyone can make when it comes to residential solar. They are Professional just like their name states and they offer the best warranty in the entire Solar industry which is 25 years on labor. The equipment they use is also premium with "All Black" panels and Micro Inverters to ensure your system stays running with no issues and no unexpected costs for the next 25+ years. They also have a new Finance program with interest rates as low as 2.99% FIXED. I highly recommend anyone located in Florida to only consider PES for their Solar needs. This company is a scam and these reviews are fake. I originally reached out to PES to design and install an integrated Solar panel/ Pergola system at my residence in March of 2024. We agreed to a price and signed a contract (after the sales Rep John called me every day until signing of) in early May. We are now in the middle of August. Zero Progress has been made on this project. They have stated they have gone through multiple project PMs, engineers, subcontractors etc. They are now basically non responsive via any and all communication (a far cry from the sales cycle). In my last correspondence, they asked for an additional 10-20% funding increase (their second time doing this) and stated "if you even want to continue with the project. This company does not seem to have the capability or desire to complete this project. Overall this is the least professional company I have delt with. We had our differences while designing the system but overall I am happy and satisfied. I just wish the sales people were actual installers instead of "car salesman." Maybe that's what's needed to make the sale? I did get quotes from several companies but felt best about PES. I would make the same choice again. Please Do not trust this company! PES solar quoted on installing a system for my house. The stipulation was that only clamps would be used on the standing seam metal roof and no penetration would occur. They provided a quote with the clamps included and I paid 30% of the quote for them to proceed. PES solar proceeded to install the system with clamps in September of 2022. After the system was installed The contract states that 60% would be paid during installation but they decided not to charge me at that time. That is when I found out that they did not follow the permit. At that point my roof was compromised by the installation process so they could not take the system off and I could not use the system because the city would not sign off on the permit. Weeks became months and almost a year and a half later, countless phone calls and more equipment added to the roof the system was cleared by the city. Through their negligence I was in limbo over a year, losing thousands of dollars in electricity cost and never knowing if the system would ever be turned on. It is now Jan 15th 2024 and the system has yet to be turned on. I have paid in full but they are waiting for their accounting department to clear it. They will not tell me how long it will take. I want to make sure as many future solar customers know what I went through. I know most of the reviews are positive but if I had to do it again I would stay far away from PES Solar. read more

We bought a solar system from PES solar 2 years ago and Don the Vice President and Salesman sold us on it, for our 20 year old roof, with the promise that PES solar would take off and put back on the solar panels within the first 5 years for free. The time has come to hold PES solar to their promise they sold us on, over that exact concern over the age of our roof, and now the story has changed that "its free if we use their roofer only". Lo and behold, their roofer doesn't cover our area nor are they willing to make an exception to have their PES owned roofing company cover our area. And Don, Vice President and Salesman, expert advice is to "go after the Insurance Company" or "Use the Government" to pay for the Panel removal and installation. Deceptive business practice all around and Don, probably the most unprofessional Vice President, singles out my wife that she "has no idea what she's talking about because she wasn't part of the conversations" and decides that rather than working with us, calls us liars and ignorant. I don't know if Don has a problem with women but it surely seems so as my wife has been handling this issue for us and rather than addressing our concerns, he keeps attacking her via text, as if she not capable of handling an issue with a company we paid $38k for solar panels. She works and makes money as well, Don. When Don wasn't trying to invalidate my wife, his only attempt at helping us was "I tried to reach out to the owner" and we had to keep reaching out for a week and a half to hear back. PES Solar's lack of professionalism through its Vice President Don and its deceptive advertising practices are something you should avoid at all costs. You want your panels taken on and off for a new roof to be put on? That'll be $10K. They don't tell you that before the panels, they just whisper "free" into your ear to get the signature on the contract even though our biggest concern with Don was the age of our roof and getting it replaced. I didn't expect this out of a company based in Florida but rather a fly by night solar panel company. But the post payment customer service will make it feel that way. read more

This company didn't even bother to come review my property before determining that they wouldn't install solar for me. They based this on online reviews of the property and satellite pictures late in the day during winter) that don't reflect the current situation. When I questioned their rationale, the rep came back and said he had all of 4 years experience designing solar. Well, I have over 45 years experience as a systems engineer, and I can see solutions for my solar system. The company reminds me of a sweat shop operation. I was contacted by them because I had been looking in to solar on the internet. They contacted me several times before I agreed to an appointment. When the rep didn't show up for the appointment, I discovered an email telling me that our home is not 'ideal' for solar. He didn't even have the courtesy of a phone call telling us he wasn't coming. I don't have experience with their installs, but based on my experience, they only want to deal with properties that are 'ideal' for solar. I wouldn't bother with this company. Installed in Dec 2020 and immediately had a lower electric bill. Next month almost the minimum and since that I have been paying Duke only the minimum (with surge protection). Duke owes me kilowatts, it is great. Everything went perfectly from salesman to my latest Duke bill. read more

For the past month they have been telling me that my permit has been sent to the city of P Pines for approval. I call the city to get an update and to my surprise they have have NOT received anything from PES Solar. I call them and they told me that they had an issue with the company that they hire (but wait, they sales rep JP told me that they do everything themselves) so that means that for the past month they have been lying to me about the status of the solar panels. When I told them that I will pull the business from them their response to me was and I quote " Sure. You are welcome to do that. There is of course a fee to do so" what kink of business answer like that to their customers? read more

Do not trust this company. They will lie to you repeatedly; outsource the work that they say they do in-house, are piss poor at communication, and simply do not do what they say. We had three companies quote the installation; two of which visited our home including PES. We were given a proposal for the installation that was in-line with 2 others we received. We chose them and signed the contract. They then send their installation supervisor out to see the site and then a month later we get a notice from their sales rep that they had mis-quoted the job and that they couldn't do it for the original price; they needed $5000.00 more. We ultimately settled it and paid the increase. It then took them 6 months after we signed the agreement to get the project permitted. (3-4 months in design and engineering, then nearly 2 months in the permit office). It was BS, I am a contractor and know how the permit process works deal with engineering all the time and am in the permit office regularly in my county. They do not do the engineering in-house; they outsource it so they hadn't even gotten the permit drawings submitted for nearly 5 months even though their office kept saying "we are waiting on permitting". I put them in contact with the contact at Duke's estate group in the county and provide a copy of my property deed to help get the process moving: all of which is public record and any contractor worth their salt should know. When the drawings were done for submittal they were wrong and I told them that they were as they did not properly reflect my systems location or layout. They told me it was no problem; engineering had reviewed them. When they finally did submit for the permit they didn't do it correctly; it was as if they were some newbie at it and I had to engage with the permit office to get it processed including putting them in contact with the woman at the permit office that was processing them to clarify what they were missing. They were also unaware that since my system is a ground mount system it requires a site review by the county health department as it is considered a structure and it required a site inspection due to its proximity to any potential easements and septic systems. They filed the request for inspection with the county but their communication is piss poor as usual and one day the inspector shows up unexpectedly; I just by freak chance was home; guess lucky for them and me. I walked the inspector around my property and reviewed with him the installation areas; nobody from PES around. About a week later the installation supervisor then visited the site for the 3rd time and I walked him around the installation area again. Then I get an e-mail one afternoon that my installation will start the next day...no notice...just the next day...and I am out of town.!! They show up and the installation crew is not a PES crew, they are a subcontractor from another state and the only PES person on site is the installation supervisor who watches the subcontractor do all the work. And the first thing they do is layout the installation area incorrectly with the installation drawings in hand even though I told them they were wrong several times and dig right in the middle of my septic system.!! They then take 2 weeks to complete the installation due to supplies (they had not ordered the cable or conduit prior to arrival on site), crew availability and weather (I'll give them those couple days). The PES supervisor was not on site for the last 2 days so I had to try and get next step answers from the subcontractor who didn't have much to say other than "contact PES". So I contact PES for the one millionth time...you'll love their communication system; reps that don't know a damn thing but can "enter a log for you and have someone call you" that never does. I get an e-mail from a new person that somone will be out to inspect the installation and a couple days after that; no notice; my doorbell rings and its a guy in an actual PES shirt. Who inspects the system and finds one of the underground conduits not connected and glued with exposed wires and one of the electrical panels missing the breaker cover....would have failed the inspection by the county for sure. Since he is PES rep I ask when will the final inspection by the county be done and the meter be swapped by DUKE...he calls his office and notifies me that they now need a letter and installation documentation from engineering to be ready for the inspector on site and they have requested it...again something they clearly did not know ahead of time and are learning as we go again....currently I am waiting on this documentation to be mailed to me so I can taped it to my meter so when and if the county inspector ever shows up he will hopefully have what he needs and then at some point Duke will be scheduled to come swap out the meter....till then I have a trench across my yard and an incomplete installation. If you want to go Solar stay away from PES SOLAR and PRS Roofing! We hired PES Solar to install solar panels and a back-up generator. We told our sales rep that prior to the installation we wanted our metal roof cleaned, coated and sealed. He said the owners of PES also own PRS, a roofing company and they could handle the entire project from start to finish. Long story short, PRS completely messed up the job they did on the roof and made a bigger mess in the process. The sealant looks uneven and VERY MESSY, they spilled a couple gallons in my gutters and got roof sealer on my freshly painted wall. The Solar panels were placed incorrectly on top of the messy sealant. It took a while to finally get the solar panels to pass county inspection. I wrote a few bad reviews and was made a promise by the owner that they would add 4 more panels to square everything off and help cover some of the crap job of the sealant if I removed the reviews. I took down the reviews about PES as a show of "good faith" Here I am 6+ weeks later and still in the same situation on a project that isn't complete. They told the financing company the job was complete. I'm still looking at a crappy sealant, uneven panels, no net meter with Duke. So I'm looking at a power bill AND a solar bill for a project that isn't done! Not to mention all the promises not fulfilled and missed appointments when we took time off work to be here. I could keep going about property damage and screw ups but I'll save the rest for court since PES doesn't want to make anything right. read more
