This is the worse company I've ever done business with. Other than the salesman who sold me $68,000 of solar panels for my home, I have NEVER been able to contact anyone at this company. At the last minute. They changed the solar panels from ones manufactured by Tesla to a Canadian manufacturer. I had no choice but to accept the change. I never received the app that would allow me to monitor the panels. I have a roof leak caused by a faulty installation of solar panels, but Urban Solar has not responded to any of my calls, emails or texts. This is a dishonest company. read more

Horrible they never answer their phones they never return phone calls I've been dealing with them since 2020 they owe me money because they put my solar panels on backwards on my duplex and they never paid me the money back that I had to pay FPL took them 3 years to figure out that they put them on backwards they still don't answer the phone they don't return messages supposedly they sold and the new company lost all of my information therefore I guess I do not have a 25-year warranty at least for labor anymore cost me $88,000 that Urban solar got and now they're not here to take care of me! read more

Our solar system was installed in August 2024. From start to finish we had a perfect experience with Urban Solar. Brian Tenney was the consultant we worked with and our system is producing the expected amount of electricity and our FPL bill reflects that. Two years ago, we chose to install solar panels with them. During the installation, one of their workers used a chainsaw and accidentally cut through my roof, leaving a hole. Also this was confirmed by one of their own workers that came about 2 weeks ago to check my house after numerous calls I made to one of the owner associates, Esteban...Unfortunately, they didn't bother to patch it up. This summer, due to heavy rains, we started noticing water coming through our kitchen lights. Soon after, mold began to appear on our walls. Now, our brand-new home is uninhabitable, with mold covering the entire second floor, and we've been forced to leave. Additionally, 10 of the solar panels have not been working for a full year. Despite numerous attempts to get help, no one at Urban Solar has responded, and they have not taken responsibility for the damage or the costs involved. Only after the involvement of the BBB, and the passing of more than 2.5 years have I received my batteries. I am pleased to say it is working well. However, on 1 to 10 scale, I would improve the rating from -15 to a -5. I will never recommend this company to anyone. If anybody ask me about Urban solar, I will say run don't walk away! This company continues to disappoint. I have now made three calls for service because my system is under producing. A service appointment was scheduled for today between 8 AM and 10 AM. I have someone at my house waiting for them. It is now nearly 11 AM. I called the company to find out where they are and I am told everyone is offsite at a safety meeting and they don't understand why a service call appointment was even scheduled for today . Just when I thought I couldn't be any more disgusted with this company I surprisingly am . They take ineptitude, poor customer, service, and total lack of caring to a level. Gave me a quote for $60,000 and never even looked at the house except on google maps. Told me that everyone else only installs junk and we have to use them. found out they add a $30,000 financing charge for their financing. Started searching and they do business under about 4 different names and the sales guy's caller id was yet another company name. Everything felt very fishy. Went to another solar company who actually came to the house, told us that there is no way that the whole roof covered in solar panels would work due to trees and said that anyone that quoted $60K for a solar install was insane. Got solar installed for $15,000 with the same product and warranty and ONLY 10 year loan instead of 25 year loan for the same 1% interest. be Very careful with Urban solar and get several quotes from others. read more

--Updated Review 2022-- I also emailed the CEO- Haven't heard anything yet! My initial review was obviously based on that time frame. We purchased Sept 2020 panels and 3 tesla powerwalls. Dec 2020 was the install of panels only and we were very pleased to have had it done so quickly before the year was over. No powerwalls yet. The initial project manager was amazing and communicated with me every step of the way. I was told in Jan 2021 that my 3 powerwalls were coming and I was scheduled for 5/14/2021 install. Paperwork was sign in April for our powerwall location. March we had a new project manager because our first one got promoted. Never not once was emailed by her. Then 4/26/21 we got the 3rd one. She did reach out and on my actual install date 5/14 said that they had no clue as to when the batteries were being shipped. We tried to see if we could switch to the enphase batteries being that they were on hand and hoping they would honor our deal. They said no because since tesla raised their prices they had raised their price on the enphase batteries. We were trying to get them prior to hurricane season. Once again they were just sitting in the warehouse. I would get weekly updates from the current project manager. Same thing -no clue when we will receive them. Then it switched from weekly to monthly and now the last email she sent me was in March 2022 same message. I emailed her 5/9/22 to find out what was going on with the batteries. As I am writing this updated review (5/15/2022) I haven't received not one email or phone call from her. So are we pissed- highly! The lack of transparency has definitely been slacking. We are 2 veterans who work serving our vets. We are actually the same branch as Harold who we having been trying to see since 2021 if we could have the enphase and because of the price increase he refuses to do it. We continue to refer coworkers and friends but at this point I will stop; because if a company is treating us like this and only sees us as $$$ and not people then I don't want anyone to go thru the same. We love our sales guy Andy but he can't do anything, his job is done. The owner and management are the ones who should be ashamed to have customers waiting since Sept 2020 for a product, knowing that they can remedy it. Will they lose a couple of dollars, yes; but will they gain very loyal fans who can continue to bring them business- Absolutely! We are just sick of it!! We can only adapt and overcome so much. People reading this think twice. --Initial Review 2020-- Working with Andy and Urban Solar has been amazing thus far. Andy is very knowledgeable and you can tell he knows his stuff. We aren't new to solar but Andy is amazing. They let you know what is going on and communicate every step as well as having an app that also lets you know what's going on. To think that I had called Andy to cancel our appt because my husband didn't want to do it. Andy convinced me and sparked some curiosity in me; and here we are getting solar. I had to call for service one time for something that appeared loose and a tech was here the next afternoon. AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS Pompano Beach, FL. I paid 20k+ for a system to be installed on my brand new roof. First thing they did was cause a leak in 2 locations, which stained my brand new painted ceiling inside the house. That was 2 months ago & it's still not been fixed up inside the house. My system since installation has not been fully operating - 1 bank of panels is not functioning. I told them about this 1 month ago. They scheduled a crew to come out & fix them, then cancelled the visit at very short notice. Finally I got some contact back from the project manager asking if someone could come out a week later. That crew have not shown up either. So I am stuck with a very expensive, non-functioning solar system & THE WORST support ever. Early September 2022, a water stain starts showing on a bedroom ceiling just below some of the solar panels. It's the second time this happens, the first time Urban Solar honored their deal and removed the panels, fixed the leak stemming from the panel's feet and replaced the panels. Not this time though. They came on September 30th and removed the panels, promised to send a roofing company to repair the new leak, then they disappeared. After months of attempting to reach the company, and just getting voicemails or answering service and unreplied emails, I sought legal counsel. Only after the 2nd letter from the attorneys, Urban sSolar finally reached out. They eventually complied with their contractual obligation to repair the leak and restore the panels to generate power again, but the ordeal was over on February 25th, 2023. Almost 5 months after it started. We were left for that period without 40% of our energy production from the panels that were removed. Urban Solar promised to pay for one full month of our electric bill, but that hasn't happened yet. Please make sure you have a trusted attorney review any contract you sign for any type of work on your home. We found details and loopholes in this contract that could have undermined a lawsuit. read more

Amazing work, the employees were so professional , were so pleased to not pay an FPL BILL , we are getting our rebate with the government in our taxes next year. Is so worth it. My house increase of value too, I can DEFINENTLY reccomend you use this company, the owner work with us to make sure we meet all our energy needs and the permit process was seamless, incredible so quickly they got everything installed and deal with the City to pass all permitting so quickly, if I have any advise to give you is do not wait, after next year the percentage of the rebate is going to decrease, do it now. AVOID THIS COMPANY. After signing a contract in August 2022, I was told installation by end of year and there would be a one month gap between paying for the equipment and FPL and solar would save me money etc etc. It is now July and I've had nothing but lies, empty promises, inept project management, cracked roof tiles, debris on my property that I had to get them to come back to clean after 2 weeks of begging and now, as we speak, a re-installation because they did not update the engineering plan over the course of the months that they've plodded along. I am paying for the solar hardware and my regular FPL bill. You will have pleasant conversations with the installation team over the weeks that they are there, gone and back again but those conversations will be via a phone translation software unless you speak Portuguese. Everything that they have told me from day 1 has been changed, inaccurate or a lie and the promises from the CEO (who happens to live in my neighborhood) are worthless. I was impressed by this company from beginning to end. Each employee that helped me was super professional. We hit several snags with my city's permitting process. But they persevered until we had the permit finalized. I was given an update call each week. I have just finished my first month using solar, so I have limited experience in the results. Mike and his staff waked me through the entire process of procuring an FPL, installation, savings, warranty, etc. Very professional and reliable. The install took about 2 days once permits were approved by the city, which they took care of. The guys that did the work were employees, not third party contractors which makes a big difference in the quality and responsiveness of the service (in my opinion). They coordinated with Florida Power and Light (FPL) for the rebate and the interconnection (I send/sell them excess power) agreement. Urban Solar installed my 4.4 KW photovoltaic system almost 11 years ago. They designed and installed a system that we specifically stated was to be primarily an emergency backup power system.
