I was here recently as a patient under the care of Dr. Elden, who is a Gastroenterologist. I had a fantastic experience! Everyone that I met here were so very kind, compassionate, and caring. They also have a wonderful hospital gift shop where I purchased some beautiful gifts for my friends and family. I had the best hospital visit of my life here, and I plan on making Advent Health Hospital my hospital of choice when I'm in the Orlando area of Florida.

Plenty of time to fill out paperwork and take the 15 minute or less tests. Asked reception for directions, it was literally right behind the desk. Was told to fill out registration at a digital kiosk. A few frustrating minutes later, finished and lady from lab window immediately calls my name. More than 25 minutes before listed closing. She asked for the purpose of my visit... I repeated what was in my digital kiosk registration finished 30 seconds earlier... walk-in lab tests. She told me I could not have lab tests done because labs had closed 15 minutes earlier. So the website states walk-ins until 2pm but apparently in reality, walk-ins actually stop at 1:15pm, maybe even earlier??? Nobody at reception told me I was too late, the sign in registration kiosk didn't tell me I was too late, and according to the website as a walk-in, I arrived with plenty of time to spare... hmmm. Reception might want to say something about being too late when you tell them you are there to take walk-in lab tests... perhaps when you select walk-in lab tests at the kiosk, the kiosk should inform you that you are too late. Where the webpage has a list of hours for walk-in lab tests, maybe it could possibly state hours are just some kind of pretend approximation. If this is how they treat patients or this reflects their attention to patient care, treatment, etc., I really hope I never end up taken here in an emergency. Imagine going to Burger King where hours listed on the door state open until 9pm but when you walk in at 8:15pm (45 minutes before closing), they tell you the grills were shut off at 8pm and will be cleaned 15 minutes from now at 8:30pm, and that the 9pm listed on the door is when the last employee locks the door as they head out for the night.

He walked up to me instead of telling me his name arms length like a child grabbed his badge very aggressively and put it in my face, it was backwards so I laughed at him and said "it's backwards so he then proceeded to flip it angrily and aggressively and shove it in my face hitting my face my husband was never assessed and my husband saw this while having his asthma attack on the premetene jumps up to help me and all of a sudden a female nurse Shandis is there out of nowhere Vincent pushes her into my husband as a shield tries to strike my husband while she is in the middle my husband reacts in self defense swings back missing him and Shandis ducks her head which I saw very clearly she did not get hit which later she and Vincent lied to police about I tell her please get us out of here I want to go to another hospital the security guard comes who by the way is no help they need to hire better security he's holding my husband as am I and Vincent is still in the hallway antagonizing my husband said he was a racist and a trump supporter and says come on like he just was egging him on as I'm trying to help my husband leave and security is in the middle my husband finally reacts and they end up on the floor with the security guard between them! By the way this man is white and about 6 foot 3 2 to 300 pounds and is a nurse fighting a patient with an asthma attack. I ask everyone around at this point we are by the nurses station and I ask the doctor "this is your nurse. What are you gonna do about this? Stop this! Help us!" No one did a thing until I got on top of Vincent to get him away from my husband I'm 5'3 and 115 pounds he kicks me in my stomach. I flew about 3 feet and the cops put in the report that he pushed me with his foot. I don't know what to do. Finally somehow we are able to walk out of these doors of this hell hole Hospital and they call the cops and the cops come and My Husband can't even walk. He drops to the floor he was fighting this man with an asthma attack. He could not breathe at all. He wanted to go to a different hospital. The cops did not allow it. They forced him to go back into the hospital where they continue to antagonize him in the new nurse asked him " Are you going to hit me too?" I was obviously hysterical because I knew that they were going to try to take My Husband and they were gonna take Vincent's side they did not allow me back into the hospital. I did not hit anyone. I did not hurt anyone. I did not do anything to anyone at that hospital, but try to stop the fight which Vincent escalated instead of leaving like you should have like a professional should have. Finally the cops told me that the CEO has trespassed me from the hospital for no reason and I cannot be with My Husband they gave him a simple nebulizer treatment never assess him and tell the cops. He's all your boys the cops take him to jail. So I'm across the street obviously hysterical not able to see my husband. They take him in the cop car take him straight to jail. This has caused this so much drama and so much anguish and now we are fighting a case and the prosecution will not drop this case against my husband who was a patient at a hospital and was attacked by a nurse and the footage that they show there is no audio in the footage very conveniently also I believe they tampered with the evidence the video footage recently.

Full disclosure: I came into the hospital…read morefor elective PREPAY (over $16K) cosmetic surgery and was set to have surgery and go home same day. I signed a paper that said if my insurance company doesn't pay for my hernia repair then I would have to pay $345 also there is a $650 charge if as a prepay patient I have to stay overnight. Ok... I wake up to find out I did NOT go home but instead the HOSPITAL OVERSOSED ME with too much medicine and they decided I should stay for their over-sedation mistake. I even had a hospital representative come ask me for the $200 balance owed as I was trying to recover. Anyway, I went home and less than 3 weeks later I see that my insurance was billed for my stay and they paid over $40K. WHAT what what?????!!! AND the hospital is billing ME the deductible coinsurance of $2650... I never sued them, I just want my money back and them to cover their mistake and write off the $2650. I have waited patiently for 60 days or 2 full months while my account from May 28th is under review from their insurance department. Only to find out today that NEVER happened and the supervisors are saying according to their notes the charges are valid. You make a $40000. mistake that would have only cost me $650 of which because it was YOUR mistake I would not have had to pay anyway? One supervisor told me that once they billed the insurance company and got paid my self pay status of getting a discount was null. If that's the case do what the anesthesiologist did and REFUND my money!!! What a racket and terrible business practice this hospital is running. Now I will wait another 45 days while you keep collecting countless insurance payments and never calling me back with the status. Stay away if you need your money and have a choice to go elsewhere. I feel VERY very cheated even though the doctor took responsibility, the hospital thinks it's okay to do wrong and make the patient keep paying! Ridiculous....

All staff were so friendly and helpful to us during our stay in the PICU. they were constantly asking how they could help and if we needed anything, often coming up with resolutions when we didn't even ask for them. One of the nurses brought my baby toys once he was able to play and brought me coffee whenever I asked. This was a terrible situation but i'm so thankful for the staff in the PICU and our last day in the CICU that made our stay better. On a side note: the pharmacy in the main area of the hospital next to the gift shop is a great spot for restocking your medicine cabinet. You can get staple meds like daytime cold meds, allergy meds, tylenol, etc for just a few dollars. I got daytime cold meds for like $3! I also bought childrens ibuprofen, like a big bottle, for under $3. This is a hidden secret that needs to be spread!

I am concerned about how challenging this process may be for senior patients, as I can easily understand the frustration it could cause. However, the length of time required to stand and navigate the system was difficult for me, as I live with chronic pain. Standing hunched over during registration placed additional strain on my neck and back while checking in for a pain management appointment. Thanks for making registration better with your smiles. On the tour we were shown the different rooms, got the opportunity to ask a variety of questions and were given a plethora of information, all was extremely helpful! We were told about a variety of prenatal classes HCA offered, and we did take them all! The staff that led them were incredible and we left each class feeling better prepared and more knowledgeable on topics from breastfeeding, newborn care and labor/delivery. We did (unfortunately) get to visit triage a few times through my pregnancy and each time I felt like my care was individualized and I was a priority for them, not just a number. Their triage is small, but they do an amazing job to ensure you and baby are safe! During my labor/delivery experience I had the most incredible care team! My birth preferences were discussed and respected, the nursing staff went above and beyond to ensure I was comfortable and safe. There wasn't one thing I would change about my experience, everything was so great! Even afterwards, dealing with billing/insurance (while normally a pain) the HCA representatives I've interacted with have been so pleasant and extremely helpful in solving any issues that came up. The *only* down side to this hospital is that they do not have a NICU on campus, HOWEVER if your baby does need NICU time, they are transferred to Nemours down the road, which has every resource available for baby! Overall I would highly recommend UCF Lake Nona Medical Center to other low risk moms-to-be in the area. The level of care and service was unmatched and truly exceptional!

Two days before the procedure they call me that they changed the time. I told them I purposely planned this way ahead to plan and the person giving me a ride would not be available at this new time. Their only solution for that was offering another appointment two months away. I ended up driving myself so I could park and then have the person just pick me up instead. I found out there was a free valet for patients however, I had valuables in the car so I decided to go to the Self Park, which meant I was an extra 15 minutes late because there was traffic and it went up slowly. The digestive center was amazing, it was very modern and beautiful, clean and all staff was friendly and quick. The whole experience for the surgery part was amazing. Doctor Bang was really amazing and kind. All staff were excellent, I would ring the bell and two seconds later someone was already there to help. after the surgery, there were some small complications so instead of going home, I was brought up to a room. From here on the experience was not that great. I asked the assigned nurse for water and juice which she never brought, and I never saw her again until transitioning shift to the next nurse. I ended up calling and the head nurse was very kind and brought me something to drink finally. When I was out of water, I had to call again because I had not seen anyone in a long time and staff had come to pick up a food tray which I never received. They finally showed up with a dinner plate at 6:30pm. I am on a liquid diet, so I was very happy and hungry even it was not a food plate. It had a popsicle, Jell-O, juice, tea, and broth. I was so hungry I ended up going down to the cafeteria and buy a meal. I had denied an IV fluid as I can drink through my mouth however they refused to remove the port which I understand is protocol. At 5am my hand was hurting so bad I demanded it to be removed and they finally did. I also removed the heart monitor because I was tired and wanted to sleep. The morning staff was very friendly. As I was still on the liquid diet I went back downstairs to buy me something to eat this time I tried the Main bean coffee shop. All staff was friendly and helpful on my last day. They have some really good doctors that are trying their best with an unusual situation. Orlando Health is part of my kids medical network because their partner works at Disney. If you coming through the emergency room, they have free valet parking during the day at least. We used it on our first emergency visit, but they were gone by the time we left and I had to get my own car from the valet lot. Security was quite helpful though. On this last visit, we were there before the valet arrived, but I was allowed to park in that lot as it is the closest to the ER. Once they were checked in, I had to figure out where the main entrance was and parking. Once I found it, I recognized things and was able to get into the C Lot which is for visitors and the front and valet uses it. On this side, the valet charges you to park. It is a healthy walk from the garage to the entrance, but no match for the amount of walking that you do inside this building that just feels like it goes on forever. My kid has some dietary issues and they've gone above and beyond to make sure that they get meals that are avoiding cross-contamination. Everyone's been really nice so far. I'm sure we will be back for other things in the future.
