Eshed immediately came out and repaired the granite so that the crack is completely invisible. Old world craftsman skills at a reasonable cost. While he was here he and his crew re-grouted all our sinks and the bathtub... then re-sealed my kitchen granite counters. They look brand new. Excellent work. They worked efficiently and totally cleaned up after the job. We are more than satisfied with his work and highly recommend him to anyone needing tile or stone work.

If you are looking for a simple repair or a straightforward project, Eshed may be a great option…read more However, if you are looking for very utmost craft, precision (ie. 1/8" grout lines), working with curved tile shapes and expect a professional partnership throughout where there is no harassment and unsolicited comments beyond the scope of the agreed upon project, then this is not the small business for you. I, too, found Eshed via his five star reviews but was completely disappointed with the way the project unfolded. The initial project quote was 15 business days. Though I had to unexpectedly travel for work and attend jury duty, I ended up being without a kitchen for 2 months. Expectations were not met. Partway through the tile project, my closet broke and a closet expert came to assess my storage needs while Eshed was at the property working on the kitchen backsplash. While showing the closet designer my dresser drawer, it tipped over due to all the drawers being opened. We called Eshed in to help us rotate the dresser back upright and I thanked him for his help. I carried on with my closet consultation. At the end of the work day, while Eshed and I were discussing progress, Eshed made a comment about seeing all of the underwear in my dresser drawers and breezed past it as if it was part of standard conversation practice. In addition to this, while wrapping up on a Friday, he has sent me photos of where he's headed for the weekend and at one point even verbally suggested that I go with him to climb rocks on the beach. These instances, though not tied to the project, demonstrate a lack of professional standard that I expect from the highest quote that came in during my research for a quality tile installation. When all the tile was installed, right when the first wall's grout was applied in the kitchen, I was shocked to realize that the spacing that we were aiming for (1/8") was not at 1/4" or greater in some areas. I asked him if he used spacers to control the spacing and he said no. I asked him why he didn't use spacers and his response was aloof, telling me it was inefficient. This is not the bar of craft of excellence once expected from a project where the tiles cost more than the labour and the labour was already the highest bid across 5 businesses. Upon project completion, the matte black door knob on my front door looked like a blender had been taken to it because of all the broken tiles he was managing while going in/out of the property to cut tile pieces. I pointed this out and he did not make any suggestions to make this right or compromise. Lastly, he had an unprofessional meltdown in front of my electrician, a fellow tradesperson after passively suggesting that the electrical outlets need attention and that I should bring the electrician back (for the 3rd time). He raised his voice, got overly dramatic and read the text message he wrote me in front of the electrician to prove a point that only worsened his credibility. On the final day of completion, instead of calling me out of my office to confirm that the project was complete, he texted me while leaving the property and told me to send a check. No final walk through of the work was discussed. It is likely Eshed will respond publicly with a rebuttal, but I hope these examples as a whole give you the context you need when considering your next tile needs.

He is patient, accommodating, and communicates well throughout the process. The quality of the work was excellent, and Gerik was on site consistently, personally handling the plumbing and overseeing the other work. His dad completed the tile work and is a true craftsman. Their company demoed my bathroom, including the shower, and rebuilt it exactly to my vision. The finished space includes beautiful floor and shower tile, a floating vanity, and all of the necessary fixtures, executed cleanly and professionally. I am not an experienced contractor, so there were things I had to figure out along the way. Gerik was very helpful in walking me through decisions and making sure nothing was overlooked. That support made a big difference for me as a homeowner. I will be posting photos soon, but I did not want to delay this review any longer. For other homeowners considering a bathroom remodel, here are a few things I learned that may help. Decide on your trim pieces and colors early, especially tile edging. Choose grout colors carefully and have your shower and sink fixtures in hand ahead of time so you can confirm finishes match, especially with gold tones. Ferguson Home was the best showroom I found for selection and knowledgeable help, but you do need an appointment. If you are considering a smart bidet toilet, do your research, some models are larger than standard toilets, though compact options do exist. If walls are open, consider relocating outlets for best placments, and make sure your vanity light will be centered if your new vanity size changes. Also, you may need bullnose tile that you did not originally order, so plan for that. After returning a shower door to Home Depot, I spent a little more and used Legendary Glass out of Moorpark for a more custom, premium, amazing shower door. Overall, I am very happy with the experience and the final result. Call Gerik.

She was lovely and understanding when I had to reschedule our appointments a few times because of our child being sick. My husband wanted to go with a glossy countertops and I agreed when we placed the order. Afterwards I had a change of heart after realizing how shiny the kitchen may look since we were using a lot of stone. Karen was able to change our order to a natural matte finish and made it very easy. I was so scared it was too late as it was our fault and she let me know not to worry at all and that the change would be taken care of. Karen saved our kitchen design and we are so thankful for her. It was also an easy communication between Imperial Tile & Stone with our fabricators and contractor. Not only do our countertops and backsplash look beautiful but they are incredibly easy to take care of! They are also heat proof too so I don't have to worry when enjoying my hot tea in the morning.

HIRING THEIR SERVICE: I searched around for quotes on getting a relatively small backsplash installation in our kitchen, and Eric from priority Tile came back to us timely and thoroughly given my initial questions, which included asking for a recommendation of how many tiles to buy, since we're not sure how much square footage would be needed. I found Eric very responsive, patient, and thorough in his answers to me which was really helpful. We set up a time, and when something came up for us, Eric was very gracious and flexible to reschedule. INSTALLATION: On the day of installation, they arrived on time and waited as I tried to figure out whether the tiles that I received were the correct ones. Once that was sorted they began work. They were thorough, and also very neat. The subway tile that we wanted in our backsplash was installed very cleanly and also cut precisely around the nooks and crannies in the space. Everything was installed within the time estimated, and the area was kept tidy in our house as well, very respectful of our place. It was such a smooth installation and a smooth experience, I would highly recommend priority tile for any of your tiling needs, and will certainly consider them for any future tiling projects as well.

She met with the home owner and he happily recommended Dwell. So, we met with Geo and work started soon after. We had to sandblast the exterior to remove the stucco work that was incorrectly applied and apply new smooth stucco. They also installed a new roof, wrought iron railing, central air, and built a new awning with Spanish tile. Everything came out great! We enjoyed working with Geo. Easy to talk to and responsive. Dwell is synonymous with quality, dedication, and client satisfaction. I have no hesitation highly…read morerecommending. Before contracting with Dwell for a full home, down-to-the-studs reno of a 50-yr old Pasadena home, I'd fired two general contractors: The first was a luxury, longstanding (30 yr) Pasadena firm that was simply too doctrinaire, languid, and non-responsive in their approach; the second was the opposite: too green, easily overwhelmed, and quickly passive aggressive and combative in communications to the point I was uneasy handing over the keys to demo and reno my home. I reset, cast a wide net for new prospects and interviewed 11 firms, all while recognizing that perhaps my expectations were too high and I was part of the problem. Gio confidently asserted that I *should* have high expectations, as it was my home that I was renovating. Fast forward, and the end product is phenomenal, surpassing my expectations without a single regret. A few notes: 1. Client dedication: Dwell and its full team (Gio, my phenomenal project manager Michael, Santiago, and the office team) all never gave a doubt that their focus is on doing the job right; i.e. in a manner that the client and the Dwell team would both share pride in. I'd be remiss if I didn't say Gio and Michael demonstrated a strong ability and interest in understanding the client's vision and truly wanting to bring it to fruition (far beyond simply delivering a product and moving onto the next project, as you risk coming across among other GCs). 2. Productive subs: Dwell knows its subcontractors well and they are each true craftsmen. Each was professional and courteous, regularly going beyond my expectations before I'd even seen their work product for the first time (e.g., more electrical outlets than I'd imagined from electrical sub, the kindest gentleman focused on getting the cabinetry and wood finishes "just right," a foundation and framing sub with steady-handed focus and easy client rapport...). Routinely, Dwell got quick responsiveness from subs, including when I'd mistakenly given the wrong delivery date for pricey patio doors (long story short: I realized my error at 6:30pm the night before and Michael and team very serenely hustled and were able to get their installers onsite the next morning to receive and install $20k patio doors; done with professional realism that it wasn't guaranteed yet effort to ensure the safety and secure install). 3. Realistic, predictable pricing: Gio tries to price projects right from the outset to do the job well. Plenty of contractors will lowball with a likely intent to add endless change orders or limit what is delivered. Dwell, in my experience, priced the project to do it well from the start and minimize any surprises or impediments that would limit them from doing the job they believe you actually want, regardless of what other contractors may tell you. 4. Respectful: There was not a single moment of tension or confusion. Michael, Gio, and team communicated incredibly effectively, even when your day job limits attentiveness or creates time demands. They more than understand and give advance heads up of items coming up for you to weigh in on, or suggestions to make the project go smoothly if you're time-constrained. 5. Humor: I'd moved from New York and was blunt at the outset that I didn't need to be best friends with a contractor, but I do expect basic courteousness and professionalism; they easily brushed past my concerns and regularly had me laughing. Doing a full home reno takes up a lot of mental space even when it goes well; to not be stressed but actually laughing through it is priceless. [As a post-script, I should mention that the reno was completed and I moved back into the place 2 weeks prior to the January 2025 Eaton Fire that ravaged Altadena and came within 4 blocks to my place before miraculously dissipating, sparing my block and the house. The care and concern that Gio, Michael, and team demonstrated despite the project having already been completed far exceeded what I could've imagined. This is a team that cares.] Big cheers to Dwell--Gio, Michael, and team: they have built a unique team culture in a tough business where it is easy for clients to be trepidatious and cautious. Run, don't walk, to do a project with Dwell.
