We are in LOVE with our porcelain countertops from our new kitchen remodel. Our contractor recommended Imperial Tile & Stone. We worked with Karen who was incredible! She was patient and very knowledgeable. I met with her twice and we also interacted over the phone. She was lovely and understanding when I had to reschedule our appointments a few times because of our child being sick. My husband wanted to go with a glossy countertops and I agreed when we placed the order. Afterwards I had a change of heart after realizing how shiny the kitchen may look since we were using a lot of stone. Karen was able to change our order to a natural matte finish and made it very easy. I was so scared it was too late as it was our fault and she let me know not to worry at all and that the change would be taken care of. Karen saved our kitchen design and we are so thankful for her. It was also an easy communication between Imperial Tile & Stone with our fabricators and contractor. Not only do our countertops and backsplash look beautiful but they are incredibly easy to take care of! They are also heat proof too so I don't have to worry when enjoying my hot tea in the morning. read more

I was sold some defective colored tile and they blamed the problem on tile installation and that the tile looks "natural" like that. We argued over the phone for 20 minutes for $150 worth of tile that they should've replaced. Instead of saying, hey, it DOES look off color and we'll give you another piece to fix it. Those cheapskates decided to keep arguing with me, hence the one star review. Just be forewarned if you decide to do business with these folks. Everything is great with them until it's not great. They also didn't help with delivery by leaving it up to me. Then last day I see a flatbed truck with the driver wearing the company shirt. I ask, "Do you deliver?" He says " Yes. See the front counter for pricing." They didn't like my polite and courteous manner I guess. 4 visits in 2 months, only asking for 20 minutes of help twice. Yelp needs to allow zero star reviews just for places like this. Everything the 1 star reviews say about this place is absolutely on point. The customer service here is the worst you will ever encounter. There are many other places that carry the same exact inventory, do yourself a favor and do not engage in any business with Imperial. I'd like to start with the good, they have a pretty good selection of tiles and I was able to find a few that I really liked. This is the only reason they are getting any stars at all. Now for the cons, the entire process at Imperial Tiles was strange. We are first time home buyers so we were really excited to shop for tiles. We went in and immediately picked out a few that could work. It was VERY hard to get anyone to help. It took us 2 visits to finally get someone to help us. We worked with Alejandra, it felt like we were there to waste her time. She gave us her card and told us she would reach out to us when she had time with more information for the tiles we selected. After we didn't hear from her, I had to reach out to her via email/calls. It was very robotic, again she gave us the price and sent us an invoice via a text app. Not once mentioned our tiles were "special order," in one email or text. She even mentioned something along the line of when it will be in stock again (see photo). Fast forward, we ordered extra tiles thinking it's better to have extra then to not have enough and we can always return it as their website advertises. Our project was done super quickly, I drove over to the store today to return the remainder tile even called and asked where. Not even the person on the phone mentioned or asked if it was custom, she actually said just come in and we'll help you unload the tiles. Once I get to the store the entire story changes and they don't return "special order" tiles. I have boxes of them and drove 45 minutes to get there. All the employees are just very careless and nonchalant and just says they can't take it back. I ask to speak to a manager and surprise, just like the employees same attitude. They are possibly underpaid and overworked... maybe? but customer service here is REALLY TERRIBLE! I've bought tiles from other places I'll leave reviews for also some who took back tiles and some that didn't and I have ZERO complaints as they were TRANSPARENT from the get go. Not once was it mentioned to me that my tiles were final sale and returns would not be accepted. The managers response to that was "well we assumed you would read the fine print when you bought the tiles." Not one apology or a "we should have mentioned it to you." What I received was a super defensive "I've shopped in retail stores and no one tells me it's final sale." I literally had to tell her there are large red signs that say final sale not a fine print especially for a large order like this. Anyway I am not going to waste any more time on this. This would have been a great tile shop had there been nicer employees? I don't know, but there are definitely TONS of other tile shops we can take our business to. read more

To be honest I wish I had discovered this store sooner. They had an incredible selection of tile, their prices were very reasonable. They had a large selection of in stock tile and their salesperson Jessica was so sweet and helpful. We ended up buying the most gorgeous tile which arrived earlier than they stated it would. She was awesome very helpful with giving us input and I feel like she really went out of her way to look for what we were looking for. Ordered tile from here the other day - tile was fine but wow, their logistics are rediculous. No joke, they made me meet the truck a few blocks from home to u load it into my own car instead of delivering the materials to our place. They said they only have giant semi trucks, they can't go into residential streets. How rediculous is that. So before you order a giant shipment of tile, just anticipate needed to unload and load your truck in the middle of some random road. Is that worth it to you? All other normal tile companies will ship directly to your residence. read more

My contractor sent me to his salesperson at Imperial to look for stone for countertops. I specifically told his salesperson I wanted to look only at granite or quartzite. She showed me several slabs and finally she showed me one that I loved. She refused to hold it for me or let me give a deposit to allow me to confirm how many slabs I need with the fabricator. She insisted I pay in full. I paid in full for two slabs, and then got home and looked up the slabs on the internet only to find out that they were DOLOMITE, or a type of marble, which I had specifically said I didn't want. I called the next morning, and though she was apologetic about the mistake, Imperial refused to issue a credit to my credit card event though she made a material misrepresentation which I notified them about after only 12 hours of the sale. The stone slabs never left Imperial's premises. I called and wrote Imperial, and to date have heard nothing back. I even stopped by the store and asked them to write me a check (which they had offered previously before I filed the credit card dispute) but they refused. I was planning to buy my tile here as well, and would have spent well over $20K at this store, but due to their actions, I will never shop here again. Oh, and when I got home and looked at my photos of the slab, the stone actually had a label on it which says dolomite. read more

I wish I was writing a with good review; however, I cannot. Imperial Tile & Stone has a large selection, which is why I came but unfortunately, their customer service was not up to par. I can't remember the salesman's name, it began with a J; perhaps Jason or Jared. He was about average height, with neck tattoos. He was NASTY to work with. I'm rather new to the remodeling process and still need to educate myself, the impatience and the condescending nature he spoke to me made me so uncomfortable. When I asked to work with someone else; he became even more aggressive and nasty. The saving grace was I was able to work with Yasser, who was more knowledgeable and kind. That is why I'm giving this place two stars. If you read the reviews of this place, it seems like there are some customer service issues; however, there are some decent people to work with. Perhaps search and browse their names before, and work only with those people. Again, they do have a pretty large tile selection. read more

Very unprofessional delivery service that giving you a 2 hours window of delivery arrival and of course even late for that showed up late and expecting us to to unload and insert all tile ourselves into the house took us 2 hrs he wanted to leave it out door in a construction zone could be damaged/ broken / stolen etc Showed up with forklift with 2 flat tires even though he was late ! CHECK YOUR TITLE TO MAKE SURE IT MATCHES. I bought the most common title there is 3 x 6 glossy white subway tile. We wanted a finishing tile, so we didn't have to use the metal edges. They sold me a title that was a different color and they won't help remedy the situation and they say it happens all the time. A heads up would have been nice so we could check to make sure before we had them do the job. TERRIBLE. read more

A good selection of tiles. However, they are not enforcing the mask mandate and we are full swing into the holiday season, 2021. Two weeks ago when I was there, half of the store was not complying with wearing masks, even employees. Or they had the masks way down under their nose. That is not going to fly with Omicron, and I hope they start to enforce masking seriously, as LA mandates require. I would like to go back and do business with them, but won't if the situation is hazardous. Otherwise, a nice big selection of tiles. read more

I walked into the store and the young ladies in the front were talking and as I stood there waiting for help, they ignored me. I finally asked for information about where to find a certain brand of quartz, and they acted annoyed and rude like I was bothering them. I walked around for 30 minutes and finally found a nice sales person in the back, Cathy. When I asked her about a tike product, she advised me it was on back order and she asked what seemed to be a supervisor, she seemed bothered by the question, did not have an answer and walked off. Besides terrible customer service ( besides Cathy) the store had tile thrown in piles on the floor, and was disorganized. I HATE imperial Tile & Stone. I have been here several times now and my review is based off my combined experience. First: I was there today August 3rd 2021 - indoor Mask Mandate in LA - not one staff member was wearing a mask indoors. NOT ONE! Second: I've been here now several times, and every time I felt like I was bothering someone to try and get any form of help. I literally stood in the middle of the room on one helped me until i said "CAN SOMEONE HELP ME" out loud while I watched 6 staff members in another room eating cake. Like seriously? Okay, it's someone's birthday, but maybe come out and say, "Hey Sir, I'll be with you shortly" Something to acknowledge a customer is in the Store. Not to mention other people literally walked by me and didn't say a word to me. Third: The staff was ot very well versed in the tile that they had. Almost like they were searching just like I was to see what was there. Fourth: I bought tile here 2 times, no one called me to tell me when the tile was in. I've bought tile at other stores and the customer service was amazing, not at all the same experience here. I feel like at any store I've ever purchased an item that needed to be brought to the store, the store calls you. Not the case here multiple times. I brought this up to the person working the register and he said "the sales girls get busy." Which was a sexist comment to begin with and also not helpful. Fifth: The person working the pick up area is super rude, however I will say he was helpful in loading my car 1 time, the other time he made me wait 15 minutes before even looking at my paperwork and allowing me to grab the tiles myself. I instead just grabbed my tiles and left the paperwork and carried it pretty far because he was straight up ignoring me while searching for someone else's order. I'm not offended if staff is helping other people but to make me wait 15 MINUTES!!!! PLEASE PLEASE GO DOWN THE STREET TO ELITE TILE! I've shopped here and have had an amazing experience from beginning to end. I'll never shop at Imperial Tile again, however Zoe at Imperial is a helpful sales rep and went above and beyond to help me. read more

I have searched high and low for the perfect iridescent color tile in white for my bathroom waterfall effect. I finally found it thanks to sweet Jasmine! She was extremely helpful. This Sunday my wife and I went shopping for Tile and we ended up at Imperial Tile in North Hollywood after checking out a few stores in the city. I just want to say that I couldn't believe my eyes, this was the largest showroom with the largest selection I've seen. The best thing is they carried all the high end brands we saw in the city and the service was amazing thanks to Hela. The showroom was beautiful and extremely busy. I don't think I've ever seen a tile store with so many people. It took a few minutes to get helped but well worth it. To get to the point my wife and I found some beautiful tile and everyone was extremely nice even though they were swamped. We decided to replace our old floors, we visited several tile stores and then finally we had the good fortune to meet Anabella at Imperial tile and stone. She was patient, knowledgeable and efficient in guiding us to the right solution. The ordering process was flawless and when it turned out we were short in our order she promptly found two more boxes of the tile and have them delivered to her show room, where we picked it up in time not to hold up the job. Terrible communication, processes and flexibility. TL;DR tried to cancel an order two days after placing it, order wasn't actually cancelled for weeks, was charged 25% restocking fee, refund came as physical check I had to pick up rather than refund to the card I paid on. We ordered some tile but decided within 48 hours to cancel the order. At this time they didn't have the tile so we thought it's fair not to be charged their 25% restocking fee. Rachel said she'd call us later in the day to confirm. She didn't. We called back and were told she had gone home. So we cancelled the order with someone else. The next day, spoke to Rachel again, who wanted to clarify that we really wanted to cancel the order. Yes, we told her. Ok, she said, she would process it and email me confirmation of how much the refund would be. Weeks later I called to follow up, having not received an email. They told me order was never cancelled and tile was now available for pickup. I told them I had cancelled the order multiple times. Had to call back repeatedly to resolve the matter. They never called me back when they said they would. Eventually drove down to collect a physical check for the original amount charged to my card minus 25% restocking fee. If they say they'll call you back, don't count on it. read more

Poor customer service, incredibly poor communication. Don't waste your time here with all of the other tile options in Los Angeles. **Update** I wanted to elaborate on this a bit. We were trying to complete our bathroom and ended up needing two bullnose tiles. We had already spent thousands on tiles with Imperial. My husband and I had 4 (four!) email exchanges with the salesman saying we needed a box of the bullnose tiles, just like the last bullnose we ordered. We needed them fast because the tile guy needed to wrap the job because he had another job starting and wouldn't be able to get back to us for weeks. The salesman sent the order for me to sign and fill out the credit card authorization. I immediately did so because my husband wasn't able to and the order went in. When the order came in the tiles were not bullnose and the salesman blamed it on me for signing the order even though we clearly stated what we wanted 4 times. I've never signed a tile order in my life, I didn't realize an order so simple had to be meticulously approved by me. He then said he told me we shouldn't have paid for the rush shipping (it was a $200 order, $80 for tile and $120 for shipping.) Excuse me? He had no Idea our situation and then he blamed the contractor saying he shouldn't have put us in that situation. He never took any responsibility to the fact that we said what we wanted and he agreed several times and it was in writing. It wasn't until after the yelp review that the salesman offered a $50 credit. I appreciate the effort and added two stars to the review but the situation still lost us weeks of time equating to much more than the already $120 lost in shipping.
