Be Prepared to be amazed! I was referred to this place by a few friends and I was blown away from their customer service. The new owner (who has it for a few years now), Ms. McKinnon - has an amazing knack for flowers and all things related to a gift. When I called, I didn't know what to get. I needed a basket of flowers for a friend whose family member just passed, and really had no clue on what to get for them. When I spoke with Ms. Mckinnon, she said that she will create a basket or two for me to choose from. I said go for it, i trust her...and boy, i'm so glad that i did, because the floral arrangement that was received was absolutely amazing and the pricing was very reasonable! I ordered some flowers yesterday to be delivered to a dear family member who is battling Covid-19 at Wake Med Hospital. Upon arrival, the bouquet was not quite what we were expecting. After a debate to contact them, I went ahead and expressed my concerns. Both Brandy and the manager were completely understanding and more than accommodating. They promptly created a gorgeous new bouquet and had it delivered right away. My mother-in-law sent us a picture from her bed and it was just perfect. Her exact words were "now these are uplifting! They make things better." It has been a difficult time not being able to visit and be with her during her stay so we were counting on these flowers to do what we couldn't. I never leave reviews for anything in yelp but I think this place definitely deserves a shout out. So I was looking for a vase of yellow roses with an hour left to spear with all the local flower shops closing. Yes it was my fault for waiting this long for birthday flowers for my mom. I ended up going to Preston last wasting an hour of driving when I should have went there first. The first place never exited so googled lied, second place when asked for yellow roses try to sell me a scrawny little bundle for $10 because they just assumed I didn't have the money to spend on a nice vase of flowers. When I told them my budget was $100 still try to sell me a small little scrawny vase for $60 and when asked if they have a bigger amount told me we close in 20 minutes. So definitely record them at all. When I got to Preston I realize they already closed but she saw me frantically running to the door that she opened her shop just for me and sold me the prettiest vase of roses I could ask for. First off she opened her shop just for me even though they were closed , second she used all her yellow roses she had and made me a brand new vase of roses on the spot and hitting my budget to the T. Customer service has been non-existent after making two calls to see where it was in route and never was delivered by 6pm as promised. This was a $118 order for a dozen roses and it looks like I bought them from the grocery store pulled out a vase and tied a lazy ribbon with a side order of cvs chocolates. My son ordered the arrangement from a third-party flower company, TELEFLORA. They were the guilty party in this incident, sending Preston Flowers the wrong flower order. This information was confirmed by my son. Though not the fault of Preston Flowers, they delivered the correct flower arrangement today (free of charge) and issued a formal apology to me and my son. I apologize to Preston Flowers for my previous review and hope it hasn't impacted their business in a negative way. UPDATE: the manager contacted me and fully refunded my mother's money, sincerely apologized for what happened and I believed her apology. I will give them another shot in the future and I have revised my rating from a 1 to a 3 accordingy. I received flowers my mom and dad who splurged MAJORLY on me to mark a very very very solemn and special occasion for me - my first wedding anniversary after my husband passed away. He died only a few weeks before our wedding anniversary. I was completely disgusted with the ENTIRE experience she had with Preston Flowers. I am writing this review because she doesn't like conflict. I don't like conflict, but I am not going to stand by and watch my mom get taken advantage of! First, when my mom came to pick it up, it did not have ANY of the specific flowers that she requested (orchids). She ordered several days ahead of time, so there was MORE than enough time to CALL her to tell her that type of flower was not available (although they should have said that when she ordered it if it wasn't). But instead, she came to get it and there was NONE of my favorite flower that she specifically PAID for and requested. And SHE had to notice and tell the checkout person. My mom paid EXTRA for orchids. And didn't get them. ON TOP OF THAT, the flowers looked like shit. They were wilting and brown. Mom mentioned this meekly (she is very shy, I am not, can you tell?!) and they replaced the wilting ones while she waited with a few calla Lillies. My mom then paid for them, asking for a refund for the orchids and they told her "no, because we used premium calla Lillies to substitute". Well, she didn't ASK for "premium" calla Lillies. She wanted orchids. They are my favorite. But my mom didn't stand her ground and demand a partial refund. She just paid the entire $100 (which was outrageous for what they gave her/me). Then as she was leaving, someone came up to her and apologized further, said it was a new designer that screwed up, and offered to send a bouquet to my mom's house to apologize. (Which a day later, they did). But. In the less than 6 hours it took from pick up the bouquet she bought for me to actually visiting me, the flowers wilted further and looked at best ..... ok (and that is being kind). I took photos, I time-date-stamped all of the photos on my phone for proof, but I can't figure out how to attach them to my review. However, suffice it to say I was ..... underwhelmed. Now, let's do a comparison shall we? Another friend got me flowers for the same occasion, TWO DAYS BEFORE that but, from Water Garden, a Raleigh florist. For a LOWER price, their flowers were GORGEOUS, had my favorite flowers in them (in abundance - orchids - and anyway, how are you, a FLORIST, out of ORCHIDS in the spring??? And if there was some huge rush on them, she ordered orchids 4 days ahead! If you were out, go to damn Harris Teeter which is literally in your same shopping complex, buy a $14.99 plant of them, they are in wild abundance right now, and cut them into the bouquet!). I also have photos of the Water Garden flowers that same day. And, next. But then to make it all even better, within 48 hours, the Preston Flowers bouquet 100% died. FLAT OUT DIED. I have photos of that too, time date stamped. Roses wilted and browned, other flowers all just fell over. I have ordered and received many flowers as a 49 year old woman in my life. I have never had even a grocery store $10 bouquet completely just DIE in less than 48 hours. Again for reference, it is now TEN days later and the Water Garden bouquet is not only alive and well, it looks the same. I would swear it was not real flowers if I didn't personally fill up the water myself every day. I told my mom this and she refuses to let me march in there to get a full refund for her. She doesn't like conflict and would feel embarrassed. I don't like conflict for the sake of conflict, but this person is on a fixed income, splurged HEAVILY on something for a truly SACRED occasion for me. My husband DIED and then 6 weeks later, it was our wedding anniversary. THIS is the occasion you effed up Preston Flowers. I have lived in Preston for 17 years. I have ordered from you before here and there. I won't again. And trust me, no one I know ever will again and I'm spreading this story far and wide on my neighborhood FB page and anywhere I can. I always feel florists are over priced, but who can resist fresh cut flowers? There's plenty to see in Preston flowers, nick nacks to put in your yard or window as well as a huge array of flowers. I didn't know what I wanted when I arrived but had a $ figure in mind. The sales team helped me pick out and arrange the bouquet. Super colorful with spring flowers. We've used Preston Flowers countless times over the years and have always had a wonderful experience (product & customer service) We were so happy they could work with us for our wedding. They truly had a hand in EVERY aspect of our wedding. Hanging arrangements from the tree we were married underneath, the aisle, tables, cake, and of course bouquet(s), boutonnieres and even a break away bouquet for tossing. They were wonderful to work with. I felt like they took the time to understand the look I was envisioning and the end results were better than I had imagined. If I could give a negative star I would. Preston was contracted to deliver flowers to my wife. The flowers were ordered and the money spent. They apparently brought the flowers to the house, but then because no one answered the door they TOOK THEM AWAY! Then 2 days later they dropped off a teddy bear and a "happy birthday" balloon in a crappy brown bag. They could NOT have chosen a more INAPPROPRIATE selection. I paid for delivery of flowers. All they had to do was put the flowers on the front porch and walk away and Preston failed, incredibly. I would not and will not deal with these people again. read more

This review is a long time in coming. We were living out of state and placed an order for a bouquet to be delivered to my mother-in-law for her birthday. There was a mix-up and she received someone else's order of a bereavement plant. It turned out that she loved the plant and decided to keep it. I contacted the company to let them know about the mix-up mostly because I was concerned that the other people didn't get what happened sent to them. This was during the height of Covid and it was clear that these guys were dealing with some delivery challenges. Not only do they rectify the situation at the home of the people who were in mourning but they sent my mother-in-law a gorgeous bouquet and let her keep the other plant. Mistakes happen and it means a lot when a business goes above and beyond to rectify it. These guys earned customers for life. I have ordered in the past and not only is the quality of the arrangements superb, but the customer service, including delivery, has been outstanding. Valentines Day, 2018... not so much. I am VERY disappointed. I ordered, on Monday 2/12, an arrangement for my wife to be delivered to her office on Valentines Day. In the order, as I always do, I stated that her office is in the very same shopping center as the florist. For years, I have never complained about the delivery charge, when they could hand-carry it to her, since I was always very pleased with the product delivered. Not this year, and not ever again. The delivery was not made. I called at 5:30 pm and spoke to someone only to be placed on hold. I disconnected after 5 minutes. I received a voicemail later that evening, while at dinner with my wife, that they were very sorry and they would include a special treat, possibly chocolate, with the delivery and that they would be back in the store as early as 8:30 AM if I could call them back. I called at 8:30 AM and was sent to voicemail. I called at 9:08 and after two trips, using the same prompts, through the "chatty Cathy", I finally spoke to someone. They apologized and said yes, they would take care of it and include something special in the delivery. It's now 12:30 PM and no delivery. Mind you, they could have hand-carried it the less than 500 yards to my wife's place of business. I'm done. read more

I purchased a dozen long stem roses for our anniversary, but they lasted less than 4 dys even after changing the water and floral mix. Because we believe in supporting and building long relationships with the local, privately owned businesses in our community, we took them back and asked rather than demanded what they could do for us. They were very apologetic and sincerely wanted to make it right. We came home with a newly made fresh beautiful dozen roses AND a box of gourmet chocolates. Sometimes stuff just happens. I always want to give businesses a chance to do right by the customer. As a result they will remember me as a satisfied and loyal customer. The day of the wedding the flowers arrived at the designated time and I could not have been more pleased. The bouquets and corsages were gorgeous and the floral wreath for the door was INCREDIBLE. The wreath was one of my favorite design elements of the entire wedding day. The boutonnieres were just as we had discussed: unique, organic and masculine. We ordered flowers for a bridal bouquet. The day that we were to pick them up, we called to let them know we were on our way. They called back a few minutes later to tell us the flowers did not come in. Five hours before the wedding we were running around store to store trying to find flowers for the bouquet.
