Service was great but the food was not. I ordered the steak tips medium well with my sides as fried okra and a baked potato. Baked potato was not done and basically room temp as well as my okra. Saturday March 15th, Tony and I stopped for lunch...Okay, I try to be as honest as possible without being rude so here I go...Tony and I was in Oneida, TN after hiking for a few hours and we were hungry. I didn't want to eat too much...kind of defeats the odds of all the stair climbing and hiking...and I always rule out fast food..but I keep telling myself...pack a picnic lunch ...pack a picnic lunch..but today we didn't... This little town has very little choices if not Mexican or fast food, so we found PRESTON's...it looked okay from the outside. The inside was very large and the decorations were very nice. Everything was dark and heavy wood. Everything was southwestern decor with Animal heads, antlers, big fireplace...it was very nice. I really liked the homey feel of the dining room., but it stops there. Take that back. Our waitress was prompt and friendly. She started several conversations with us and was very nice. Tony opted to order the Smoked Sausage Spaghetti with sweet tea (no beer or alcohol) and I ordered chicken noodle soup and southwestern eggrolls for appetizer to share with Tony.. Where do I start..The soup was very thick and salty. It tasted more like a chicken pasta dish instead of a soup...there was no broth it was all thick gravy..I ate a portion of the cup, not much it was way to salty for my taste. The egg rolls was the appetizer but it arrived with the lunch entree so we snacked on it but it was over cooked on the outside and doughy inside..the cook has the oil way too hot..burning on the outside and not getting the inside done at all.. the ranch dressing was just plain ranch dressing... Tony's spaghetti was canned sauce poured over overcooked noodles and had about 8 pieces of polish sausage cut up and laying on top with two pieces of garlic toast (burnt) not sure what happened since there was only about three other tables in the entire restaurant on Saturday at 2pm.. I still left my waitress a 25% tip...she was nice and the restaurant clean..but I would NOT EAT here again or recommend to others. read more

Very good food at very reasonable prices. My husband and I own a local Airbnb and wanted to try this restaurant to know if we should recommend them to guests. We definitely will. My husband ordered the Whiskey River Steak with broccoli and a loaded baked potato. Loaded baked potatoes means just bacon and cheese, but the waitress told us that up front upon ordering. The steak was smaller than expected but my husband loved it all. I ordered catfish with garlic mashed potatoes and cinnamon apples. The cinnamon apples are a side dish that doubles as a dessert.
