ham cheese tomato croissant and smoked salmon and butter sandwich
    Connie C.

Busy street and busy cafe but speedy service. I came in during the lunch rush and I had just missed a large group of tourists which probably explains the rushed customer service but it was understandable and not a total mood-killer. I've had the smoked salmon and butter sandwich (£2.5) and the ham cheese and tomato croissant (£1.8). The sandwich was simple and light, just the way I like my sandwiches. But, I can say that the croissant was definitely my favorite! Melted cheese harmonizing with the ham and tomato in a perfectly seasoned croissant- I felt like I was eating a mini-pizza. So addictive that I crave this croissant- totally worth the 450 calories!

These were located everywhere all over London and similar to a over-priced Starbucks. They boast that they have very 'healthy' and organic types of food but when we arrived, all we saw that we'd like was from the bakery. Two croissants, some small (very small) fruit cups & a bottle of water ran us about $20. It was definitely over-priced.

I wouldn't normally review a chain like this, BUT if you want to do some people watching and eat an admittedly nice sandwich then this is your place. Pret do all sorts of yummy varieties and takes on classic favourites. I do like the generous salads if I am being healthy, although they seem to have stopped the tuna nicose they have a new morrocan one out with houmous and falafel and other soul bettering foods. The Soups are a cheaper and filling option. OR the miso soup really does heal any illness and give you a bit of a boost. Pret is nice to just sit in and watch people pass by the window. And you can always pick up a pudding when you finish your sandwich, as I end up doing- the love bars or pecan pie is AMAZING. The prices are not so low, BUT what would you rather have- a hoisin duck wrap, a tea and a cheesecake or a triple whooper bacon extra cheese road to heart attack?

I decided to return early the next morning, and we were seated quickly. The staff is friendly and attentive. The cafe is quirky with shelves of vintage books and customer napkin art. You read that correctly - napkin art. A craft of water with fresh mint came out quickly. We ordered Americana coffees and I had the Eggs Drury. The food came out fairly quickly. My poached eggs were served on a massive bed of bacon and fresh made English muffins. The English bacon was incredibly delicious. It is no wonder that there are lines waiting to dine here. My husband had one of their premade breakfast sandwiches, made on fresh rolls, which he loved. There was a service charge added to the bill. I would definitely recommend and return.

I ordered the chorizo sandwich; the bread had a good crunch and the sun dried tomato added a bonus pop of flavor. The real winner and bar-setter for me was their iced vanilla latte. I'm not sure if it was the espresso or the vanilla syrup they used but it was probably the best latte I had. Inside the restaurant has lots of character and you can get more info on the decorations. Employees were kind and handled the business of the day with ease. If anyone happens to see this from the cafe, I'd really love to know what vanilla syrup is used as I'm still thinking about that latte weeks later!

There was a line of people outside waiting. That's how you know it's going to be good! After I got on the line the host (who was a lovely gentleman!) stated it would be about a 15 minute wait, but there was ample seating available outside. I decided to sit outside. After a quick overview of the menu I went with avocado toast with bacon and hashbrowns. I also had a coffee. Everything was delicious and service was great!

People kept walking by without acknowledging us, which was a little frustrating. The coffee was amazing though. We ordered a cortado and it was perfect. I got the All American breakfast and the portion was huge. I enjoyed everything, even though they don't make over-medium eggs, which was a little funny to me. My mom ordered the avo, egg, and cheese sandwich and didn't realize it was spicy, so she didn't enjoy it much. Just something to be aware of if you're not into spice. The vibe inside was really nice and cozy, and our waiter, once we were finally seated, was very sweet and friendly. Overall, I would return, especially for the coffee and the portions.

The space is small and it's really filled up with tables to a point where waiters have to navigate gingerly but it IS London and space is $$$$ but they could easily offset it with great food but alas, that wasn't the case. Perhaps, an unsuspecting non Russian tourist might enjoy the experience, but as a native, if I had to use one polite word and not a lot of Russian expletives - dreadful would be it. If you own this place or work there you will know that all pickles came from a jar. You'd know that pastries were not made by you and weren't made today but you don't charge yesterday's prices. Even the bread was ehh. Not going to list the dishes but they all were not that tasty and possibly not made by a Russian cook. Notice, I didn't even use the word "chef" which is what this type of restaurant ought to have. A MAJOR disappointment and an expensive one at that. Don't do this.
