Their staff, cheerful and efficient, had my photo taken within minutes of my arrival. Although I think they say on the website that it may take them 30 minutes to do the prints, they were faster than that. They were more expensive than either CVS or Staples, but well worth it. Both those places produced digital images that, for reasons best known to the US Department of State, were unacceptable. Had I known, I would have gone first to PhotoLounge, and not wasted considerable time on those amateurs. Had no problem with getting the PhotoLounge digital photos accepted on the online passport renewal application. When visiting them on 17th Street, be sure to note the Frank Furness-designed building they are in.

Hours later, I received an email stating that my order had been flagged by their "Fraud Department" and canceled. I called the business as soon as I saw the email. The first person I spoke to let me know that it may have just been an error and that they still had cameras in stock, so it gave me hope that we could figure something out. But then he transferred me to a woman who told me that my order was flagged because 6 other people in my area had also placed orders that were fraudulent [???????]. I then asked if I could re-order over the phone since it was clearly a mistake on their end, because I'm a real person, my card was charged, my mailing address is residential and real, and she said no, because they actually don't have any of those cameras available anymore. I understand that they are a small business. I found them online through reviews from others, but the process they follow for fraud detection is flawed. They claim they want to "protect their customers," but having a system cancel orders just because multiple orders are coming out of the same area is a terrible way to run a business. I would have preferred if they had just called me before canceling my order.

They do everything in house so they have a super quick turn around. I dropped off a roll of black and white and with in 24 hours had the film developed and the photos scanned and emailed to me. And then when I picked up the actual film a few days later it was cut and placed in order in a film sleeve. Can't say I've gotten that high level of service from anyone else. The staff is super friendly as well. It's a small family owned shop so they are there to help. I don't think I'll be taking my film anywhere else. I can't stress enough how pleased I am with the quality and speed of their work. They also started selling camera via consignment. So if you're looking to get back into film photography and want a nice vintage starter camera or some additional lens stop by and get a camera and some film and show this place some love. They also offer a wide range of other services related to film and video. So if you need something printed, scanned, or made digital this is the local place that will do all that and then some.
