I recently stopped in PhotoLounge for a set of passport photos, and as they say on their website, just walk in for those photos. Their staff, cheerful and efficient, had my photo taken within minutes of my arrival. Although I think they say on the website that it may take them 30 minutes to do the prints, they were faster than that. They were more expensive than either CVS or Staples, but well worth it. Both those places produced digital images that, for reasons best known to the US Department of State, were unacceptable. Had I known, I would have gone first to PhotoLounge, and not wasted considerable time on those amateurs. Had no problem with getting the PhotoLounge digital photos accepted on the online passport renewal application. When visiting them on 17th Street, be sure to note the Frank Furness-designed building they are in. read more

I had a large 20x30" family portrait printed for $150 by PhotoLounge and shipped to Florida. Sadly, the shipping box arrived dented and the paper was damaged so it could not be framed. While at the local framing store they told me their prints only cost $38. So, I apparently overpaid exorbitantly!! Shame on me for not doing my research. I reached out to the store manager, Mikayla, for a refund but she only offered to reprint it and reship it but I explained that I was on a deadline and was afraid the same issue would happen again. She also gave me attitude. The owner, Ravid, called me back and offered me a credit but I refused. He was also extremely RUDE and hung up on me when I told him that customer service is changing (for the better) and refunds need to be given in a circumstance like this. I also told him that I wrote this review and would not take it down unless given a refund. He refused and likely lost THOUSANDS of DOLLARS in business for $150. Everyone reads the reviews before purchasing from a business nowadays. Ravid is not very business savvy! Bottom line: PhotoLounge is too EXPENSIVE and their customer service is HORRIBLE. I would look elsewhere and save yourself money and a headache. read more

Absolutely fantastic film lab, best in the area! I go here and nowhere else to get my film developed, they always do an amazing job developing and scanning my film. Everyone who works there is super down to earth, nice and helpful, and any questions I have are always answered pretty promptly. I'm a member of their film club and its definitely worth it if you shoot a lot of film, the free upgrade to high res scans is awesome! I ship my film to them (which is free btw!), you can also have a courier pick it up or drop it off in person. Generally turnaround time from shipping dropoff to having my scans is about 3ish days, which is great in my book! Prices are also pretty reasonable, especially if you use the bulk gift card option where you get $150 worth of film processing for $100! Cannot recommend this lab enough :) read more

I love this place. The employees are phenomenal. I've always been pleased with prints from here and have been meaning to put up a review since last August, when they really went the extra mile for me. I needed a very large (20x30) print of a collage I had made, done on premium quality paper, and I needed it the same day for a funeral the following day. They got it done, and it came out gorgeous. As horrible as the funeral was, having this picture of my grandfather there to remember him as he was... it meant the world to my whole family. read more

This place and its employees are the absolute best! Everyone who works there rules so fucking hard. I have been coming here for three years now and have always received excellent service. I want to give a special shoutout to my boy, Nick, who so kindly and nicely allowed me to add one single print to my order even after all of my photos had already been printed and were ready for pick up. It was so sweet and homie of him to just throw in a print like that. Not only did he do it for free but it was so last minute and he just added to my order as if it was no big deal. Pros: -the shop is so artfully decorated, it's just a cool feeling to be in there. It's inspiring! -the services provided are super affordable $5 per service! -they are super technologically savvy! They processed our old school film and then uploaded it to a drop box for us to retrieve. Super pain free process! -the person working the counter was friendly and knowledgable and treated us with kindness -they have stations of computers for you to work in to edit or upload your own photos. I wish I could leave 0 stars. These guys destroyed 2 rolls of film. They refused to take responsibility and apologize but issued a full refund. Great. The first two rolls of color negative film only took about a MONTH for them to develop, destroy, and send me horrid scans. It has been almost 6 weeks now for them to get me my third roll of black and white negative film. I have emailed 4 times and gotten no response. I would not suggest using this lab to my worst enemy. This has been the worst experience I have ever had with a lab. Hopefully this will grab their attention enough to at least give me an answer. At this point I assume they ruined this roll as well because they can't seem to do anything correctly. read more

Stopped by PhotoLounge for passport photos after pleasantly finding a highly ranked place on Yelp just around the corner. There was plenty of staff waiting to greet and help me. I was taken back for my photo is less than a minute and even picked up a cute Father's Day card while I was there. Great to find Rifle Paper Co. cards without having to trek to PaperSource or Papyrus. Haven't picked up my photos yet but for $15 will get two photos and a digital copy and it couldn't have been any easier. I'd highly recommend this place to anyone! read more

Nick became my "brotha from anotha motha!" after being so helpful. I am from Washington state visiting for work and needed a couple rolls of black and white film. Without hesitation, Nick recommended some film I hadn't tried and kept friendly insightful discourse the entire time. Before he helped me, he was assisting an elderly gentleman with an important project. I was impressed with the thought and care he put into this man's needs, making sure he was happy and squared away just like myself! I will definitely be back if I return to the area again. Handed in my film early December and called multiple times between then and March and eventually they just didn't answer the phones. They sent me a Dropbox file of my photos but never developed the pictures. The few times they answered they said the pictures will be ready in a couple days and they never were. I understand it is the holidays but my film was delivered to their store on the Dec.18th. More than enough time to have them developed and sent back to me. Called today, 10 days later, and they said my film hasn't been processed yet. They will process my film next week, Monday. This isn't the first time they took forever, but they are local and I support local businesses, before I look at other options. I gave them the benefit of a doubt, that the first time was an isolated incident. I'm officially looking elsewhere to get my film developed. If you need your negatives back within an acceptable time frame, this is not the place to go to. Waiting over two weeks is not acceptable. read more

I've been using Photo Lounge for the last 5 years and have sent dozens of friends there along the way. Whether it's film, digital, frames, books or physical prints you're dealing with, they have a solution for you. Their online uploader works well, but it's not perfect, but then, what is. I've ordered everything from wallet size photos to 24" x 36" prints from them with stunning results. The physical storefront has lots of terminals to upload photos from every kind of media imaginable. Their gigantic large format Epson quietly hums while spitting out big jobs for people all over the city. The rack of film behind the counter is always stocked with 35mm and 120 rolls just tempting you to dust off that camera you haven't used in a few years (do it!). Turnaround time for film is 1 day for color, 2 days for black and white. Turnaround time for prints ordered before Noon is same day! I'd be lost without Photo Lounge and am thankful Pete and co. are always working his tail off behind the counter. read more

Without a doubt the worst customer service experienced from any vendor in years. I arrive this evening and walk up to the counter. The first customer service person puts her finger up at me indicating wait, all while never looking up from the computer. After a moment she asks how can she help me, still never looking up. When I describe that a local framing shop directed me to them for printing I get the snarkiest "yeah, well, that is what we do *sigh*" and she waves her hand in the general direction of some kiosks, without even asking what I wanted. If I wanted to print from kiosks, I would have gone to Target or CVS, but I gave them the benefit of the doubt and tried it out. Seconds after sitting at a kiosk a few clicks confirmed that the work I was seeking to do was not going to happen here. While there another customer was in the same situation as I was: sitting, waiting for assistance while the staff played on their cell phones. I waited for the staffer to come over when the rudeness just escalated even further. She took over clicking all over and telling me what I wanted without letting me get a word in edgewise. When I finally mentioned foam core mounting she sighed and practically scolded me for using the kiosk. Obviously my fault for using the kiosk, duh! Back to the sales counter we go and then she tells me I can't print the images in large sizes. Yes, I knew about the challenges, and when I asked her for Photoshop work she mumbled about the images some more and repeatedly went back to the sizes of the images. No listening or discussion what-so-ever. Stop the presses, she has to look at her cell phone, again! The concept of up-selling me on additional work was likely the furthest thing from her mind, I was just a guy who she wanted out of the store so she could get back to her cell phone. At this point I was done with the Photo Lounge and told her as much. The attitude escalation continued and somehow she managed to make comments of "I'm just trying to help" seem snarky. A plus: The PCs were running Windows XP, nearly 20 months after support and security updates ended. read more

I wanted to print a poster so I stopped by with my template. The owner was very helpful and kindly told me that the resolution was not high enough. The pricing of this place is Very reasonable (compared to the ones in California at least) Although I did not end up printing my poster here, i would recommend this place to anyone looking to print something special. I went there to get my Russian passport photos done. I have to say that my country is very particular about certain stuff and pictures were supposed to be certain size. They even have formulas to calculate the distance between the eye and the edge etc. The guy that work there and I think he is the owner was very helpful, allowed me to use the computer to find info. Pictures were done in couple hours and they actually send you an email and call you to say that the order is ready. Four stars are for the price: 6 small photos were almost $50!!!! I hope I will not have to pay so much again! read more

Simply put the most helpful, likable photo printing shop I've ever been to. I've stopped by Photoshop several times since I moved to Philly a few months ago and every time it's the same - a friendly greeting, super knowledgeable (and helpful) staff, and a distinct urgency to get it right for the customer. I've seen them bend over backwards to fix a (perceived, in my opinion) error for a difficult customer more than once. I love this place, the quality of the prints I get here, the helpfulness of the staff, and the general atmosphere overall. I wanted to get about 30 4x4 and one 5x5 prints through Mobi Lab in Division IV. Using their MyPhotoLounge application, I seamlessly placed an order, and requested for a pickup at Division IV, one of their pickups in Fairmount. The delivery was true to what was written (it was done in 2 business days), but the photos were not printed correctly -- the 4x4 pictures were printed on 4x6 papers (leaving the two blank lines by both sides) with the single 5x5 printed correctly. Some pictures were rotated. None of these are big deals, but it was a little annoying to have to deal with. The quality of the prints were pretty good given shitty phone camera resolutions though. This wasn't too bad of an experience, but I probably won't be rushing to try this out again, unless I'm visiting their store in person or something. read more

Went there to get my passport photo, I arrived at 6:20. They were closing at 6:30. One of the employees was having a happy dance, because they were closing soon, so the female that was about to take a picture of me, said to him they still have a bunch of customers in the store and she needs to find the way TO KICK THEM OUT. So needless to say, I felt uncomfortable and rushed. My photo turned ridiculous and I'm not going to be able to use it. I payed $17.00 for it. I really wish that people in the customer service job, have more customer skills. read more

Recently placed a couple of orders for prints and was completely satisfied with them! The first was for enlargements from old photos from the 80's. Photo quality was great - I was very pleased with how well they came out! The second was for digital prints from both a DSLR and iPhone. The prints were in varying sizes and again, the photos were very crisp. Customer service was very knowledgeable and friendly. Ordering online and picking up was painless. PhotoLounge is consistently the best retail experience I could ask for. I only recently began shooting film, and the shop has been an excellent resource for me. My boyfriend and I went in yesterday to get film processed from vacation, and the two employees remembered that we had gone to San Francisco and asked us all about it. They seemed genuinely excited to hear about our trip and wanted to see the photos we took, they were so nice! One of the cool perks of going to PhotoLounge is their Instagram deal. If you have film processed with them, you can submit your best shots from the roll to their email. If they choose any of your pictures to feature on their Instagram, you get a free roll for next time. It's a great concept and a great way to reward loyal customers, I love this idea. I look forward to coming here for the customer service, reasonable prices, and quality of work that they do. I wish every store I went in was so pleasant, this is the service that every company should strive for. The staff is extremely knowledgeable and makes great recommendations when we need them. I feel like I could hang out there for an hour picking their brains and learning from them. It has made my new hobby of shooting film even more enjoyable, and I will always go to PhotoLounge for my film needs. read more

I needed real prints, as in on photographic paper not laserjet printed. I was able to upload my hi-res files online, they were ready the next day, and they look great. Prices are very reasonable and they have a lot of products beyond prints to choose from. The two guys working there were super nice; the guy helping me out made faces with my daughter while I inspected my prints, and let's be honest that's how I judge a person's character now ;) The other guy hurried over to help me with the door as I left with my stroller. Yes! Finally Yelp agrees with me! 5 stars!!!! I went here to get enlargements and the man behind the counter was unbelievably helpful! He was even multitasking with at least 3 people and giving everyone the help they needed... I wasn't sure what size I was looking for and even though it was a bit busy and he was the only one there he took the time to help me out and make sure I got what I was looking for, I even felt bad that I was taking so long and was trying to rush but you could definitely see that he wasn't rushed at all. After I got my pictures ordered my boyfriend had a question about his camera and some dust and again he was very helpful! He decided to take a look at it and try to fix it, he couldn't the dust was somewhere he couldn't get to but he was also very helpful telling him how he could get it fixed and how much it would cost, etc. Overall, a WONDERFUL experience! I am definitely going back here to get regular prints! Never going back to CVS for my pictures (sorry CVS). read more

About 6 months ago I decided I was finally done with online photo processing because I was sick of the cropping being so off - have they not recalibrated (or whatever it's called) their machines for digital cameras?! The tops and/or the sides were always cut off, or I was offered the option for an odd size print (4x5.5 or somethig like that). After stumbling upon PhotoLounge, I have seriously not had one complaint with their service or their product. Every person I've ever interacted with has been extremely helpful and gave service with a smile. Today I watched the owner take at least 15 minutes with a very older patron, teaching her how to use the zoom on her digital camera. Pricing seems to be pretty spot on - today I took advantage of their cyber Monday sale and picked up 6 5x7s and 6 4x6s for less then $7!! Lots of promos on their FB page. Plus they email when your order is ready. Bottom line ... Support a local business because this is one of the good ones. read more

I have been using PhotoLounge to get prints made of my photography over the past few months--a first for me. So far, I am very satisfied. Orders are turned around quickly, usually within two hours on a business day. After submitting my first one in-store, the staff informed me that it would be quicker (and cheaper, actually!) to order online, which I have since been doing. I appreciate that they informed me of that, even if it means they might not be making as much profit on me as a customer. It goes to show that they value me as a person, instead-or at least I feel that way. I can't speak too much to PhotoLounge as a retail outlet, however. I did go in seeking an arcane and obscure battery for an aging film SLR, which they didn't have. But that's not really their fault: they can't be expected to keep around every camera battery variant for the past how many years worth of camera brands and models. read more

If you need a professional photo for DVlottery, avoid this place at all costs! Their pictures are low resolution, cropped and retouched - exactly the opposite of what you need. Unfortunately it`s maximum what they can do. And as a result it may cost you a whole year of wasted time! read more

Great location. I got the passport photos that I needed in less than half an hour and paid an affordable price.

I had my color film developed here and it was such a great experience. It took about two days to process and be ready for pickup. When I got there I had a nice conversation with the cashier about film photography and where I could get one of my cameras services and they recommended me their own servicer.
