I never put energy into jumping online to write a bad review but this one takes the cake...   12:53 PM: We call the store and ask if they're open and available to take on a full grooming for a small dog. The employee answers and says yes they are, we confirm that's great news and that we're on our way with our 16-year-old small dog.   1:27 PM: We get a missed call from an unknown number, they don't leave a voicemail. We are driving at this point and focused on the road for safety so we didn't see it come through.   1:30 PM: We arrive at the store to find the lights shut off and the door locked. We called the same business number we used when we called earlier and that was listed on the door 3 times, no answer. We knock, no answer.   Suddenly, a lady in her uniform and a shopping bag from Publix, the grocery store in the plaza, appears behind us to let us know they are closed for the day.   We kindly informed her that we were the customers who called ahead, confirmed we were coming, and arrived at the exact window we said we'd be there. She tells us 'she tried calling us to confirm (again?) and since we didn't answer - she called the owner and he said to close up the shop', we explained to her we were driving here and paying attention to the road, and note we are indeed here and still on time to the appointment.   When I asked her: Why did we need to reconfirm? We drove all this way, are you able to take us since all parties are still here? Your Business hours are listed that you're open till 4 pm today, we called, confirmed, and arrived on time - what else were we supposed to do?   She simply stands there and shrugs her shoulder, and says " I don't know......"   We asked if we could speak to someone who would know, for example, the owner. She refused to offer any information. When pressed, she claimed: He lives in Columbia and he doesn't want to be bothered with "store issues" and continued to walk to her car and sit in it for 10 mins then left..   I have -never- in my life seen such disregard for customer care, no work ethic, no empathy, no attempt to problem solve, no effort to maintain a customer, no effort to consult the owner whose business she's costing - nothing.   Good to know.   Thankfully, there are THOUSANDS of grooming services, even mobile ones that come to your home FOR THE SAME PRICE, that respect people's time and appointments. Will not be returning here ever again, will not recommend to anyone, and we hope Kathy receives better customer service training if this is the career path she chooses to be in.   To the owner, I hope your business associates are always representing you the way you want to be represented. read more

I have loved coming here for many years with my two pups but unfortunately today will be my last. I dropped off my dog in the morning and the wonderful lady stated will call you when she is ready, as usual. Well they called me at 3:20 and left vm. At 3:48 get text message that they are closing at 4pm and afterwards it will be 20 dollars additional for hour. Luckily I was able to get out of my work call and rush there to get her. On yelp it says they close at 6 and on maps it says 5. If they change hours it is fine but let the client know must pick up at 4 or whatever time. Sad to see as the staff there is always very nice and been going there every ~4 months for years between my 2 dogs. read more

So we had an appointment for 11, unfortunately we were running 10 minutes late so I called to see if they could still take us in. We were told no because they handle another dog coming in at 11:15. We get home and she calls us back to see if we can go back in because she said she would still be able to cut my dogs hair at 12. We get there and she says states that she will not be able to cut all of it, but only do a mini cut, which thankfully worked out because it is what we wanted. I expressed to her that the areas to focus on were genitals, ears and nails. His fur is a medium length and not at all matted. I wanted a puppy cut around his face which I mentioned to her. She said she didn't know what that was and that all she had written down was a mini cut. A pet groomer that doesn't know what a puppy cut was?... that's like going your hairdresser telling you she's never heard of bangs. I let her know that due to all the driving he was not feeling well and puked, so he needed some water. When we got back to pick him up. They had shaved his genitals and on top of his nose down to a zero. Just look at the before and after pictures down below. All I needed was a trim to get the hair out of his face. But we were clearly just another quick transaction to them. When I picked up my dog she stated she tried to give him water but he wouldn't drink it (although he has never refused water). She the then charged me $37 and change, when the website clearly states it is $30 for the mini cut. I also mentioned the website advertised $5 off their price. She said she would then charge me $30, and that the prices only were listed with the first timers $5 off. Which it is not mentioned anywhere online. And she also said that if I will be paying with credit card that there is an extra charge of $2 something (which by the way is illegal to do and can terminate their merchant contract while still charging them the termination fees). For argument sakes I just paid the $30 and left. By the way my dog drank a bottle of water right outside the groomers. This was an exhausting experience, won't be going back. read more

Completely hacked my dog. I asked for a puppy cut and they shaved down to his skin. No anal gland extraction done and didn't even touch his ears or nails even though I specified that I wanted both of these (which is stated is included in the full groom). They completely disregarded what I asked for and did what they wanted instead. I told them he had some light matting but they went ahead and shaved down to his actual skin, without confirming this was okay with me first. The front desk staff (I interacted with one person) was rude and seemed like they hated the fact that they were there. Will never return. read more

I've been bringing my pomeranian to Pretty Poodles for the past 7 years and they've failed to disappoint. They are always able to take her for an early Saturday appointment when I call on a Friday afternoon. The staff is very friendly and while they do keep the dogs for an extended period of time I think that is the norm for dog groomers these days. I am so happy I found this place! I took my dog for the first time today. He hasn't been to a groomer before. I was worried that he would be too excited but when I returned for him I was told that my dog was sweet. :) If you're new to bringing a dog to the groomers, this place is perfect! I definitely feel like the woman who helped my dog today is great with handling and understanding dogs. So, my dog has been itching SO MUCH the last few days. To the point that he is scratching his fur off. I began to search for a groomer hoping that a soothing, doggie spa day would help alieve his itching or even solve the issue! I had given him his flea medication and had been rubbing his itchiest spots with coconut oil. I also gave him a bath about 2 days before going, since I would see baby fleas showing up on him, but only a couple came off... I found this location on yelp (after reading scary reviews of OTHER groomers) and checked out the website. I loved the friendly website and affordable prices. I made an appointment (they took me in the next day) and brought him in for a full bath treatment (which includes a bath, brushing, hair removal, cutting his nails, cleaning his ears, a bandana and doggie cologne). Upon arrival, the groomer was very friendly and introduced herself to my dog. She tried to give him a cookie but he was too excited by the new place and new smells to eat it. She told me it would take about 2 hours. While I was back home (spraying every room to kill potential fleas...), she gave me a call and said my dog did have fleas and asked if I would want a flea bath. I agreed right away and it only cost an extra $5. The whole treatment cost $35 and I couldn't be happier!!! My dog hasn't scratched ONCE!! By the tone of the groomers voice, it seems like my dog also had MANY fleas. So I am happy that her shampoo was able to get them all off! Normally, my dog also sheds a lot of short, white hairs. I have to vacuum every two days to keep up. But he is shedding significantly less! Which is a bonus I honestly didn't expect! He also smells AMAZING! His fur is SO soft and smooth! His paws and nails are very nice (normally I am too chicken to cut them, so I would run with him extra to help file them down. Now, I have somewhere to go that can do it anytime! For only $5). His free bandana is also adorable! Overall: 0 complaints. Pure benefits. VERY affordable. I'm so glad I found this location. I feel like my dog is going to be healthier now. I plan on returning each month about 1 week before I give him his monthly flea treatment (which is when baby fleas begin to appear). I'm ready for an itch free dog! And I'm sure he is too. I highly recommend this place, and definitely recommend a visit for any owners of an itchy dog!!! read more

I used to use a Mobile Groomer that came to my office. She disappeared on me 5 days before the holidays and my Shih Tzu was looking pretty grungy. I looked for places on Yelp but nobody had time for me. I called these guys and they said they would squeeze me in which they did. They did a beautiful job and I keep my Shih-Tzu hair long so they were very careful not to cut any. They did her feet so cute and her ribbons were adorable. They were so so so friendly and I appreciated them making the time for me to be able to take my dog in last minute. The place was clean, location was easy to find and people were personable. And I was surprised to see they were even grooming cats! They even educated me on things I did not know about best brushing techniques for my Shih Tzu! Definitely coming back and I have already told my other friends to take their dogs here. What is nice is that there is an additional window to the street that you can actually stand up and watch them groom your dog.or cat. Lol. read more

We recently adopted a Shih Zhou who was in dire need of grooming. I checked the glowing reviews of Pretty Poodles and Pets and took Jack there for grooming. What a fantastic job they did!! They are also very caring and it is obvious that they love animals. I will continue to use them even though I do no live nearby. While I was there to drop off and pick up my dog, many breeds were there for grooming, so don't let the name of the place dissuade you from bringing in any breed of dog.
